Thank you so much for asking this. at the last cruise, my grandson was 9 and he memorized the Norwegian Pearl before I did lol He went to the buffet, and came back in about 5 minutes with cookies 🙂 I felt really comfortable letting him wander as he is was good to come back. THIS cruise in May he'll be 17. brother and sister are 10 and 12. I am very disappointed that Splash Academy won't be operating as that's the reason I booked it...but...the teen program will be operating at least.

Hi everyone, didnt see my cruise on here but have a few questions. First trip to Alaska, we are going in May, what should I know about weather, clothing, etc. We are traveling on the Bliss. we will be stopping in Sitka, Juneau, cruise by Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, Icy Strait point, Ketchikan. Is there any excursions we should do for sure, any to avoid.
Thanks in advance
Lisa
I just saw your post as I was posting. will be there with my 3 grandkids 🙂 we're going on the Zipline at Icy Straight Point and I'm a bit terrified but it will be fun lol

Interested in experiences with this. I am hoping it won't be a red-eye 🙂

can I cancel if they still require them by May 2022? I do NOT want to cruise with a mask on.

a clip from a review.....
they sailed in November

How could your final payment be due this month for a May cruise?
My cruise is in May, and the final payment is at the end of January...wonder why her's isn't?

DH and I are booked on a roundtrip (Seattle to Seattle) Alaskan cruise in May 2022...one of the first of the new Alaska cruise season. Our final payment is due in early January. We are both vaccinated and boosted...and we have travel insurance. We don't live close enough to the port of Seattle to drive, so we will be flying in from the Midwest.
So much can (and I'm sure will) change between now (mid-December), January (when our final payment is due), and May (when the cruise actually departs)...and we'll be following all of the NCL required/recommended protocols as we approach the embarkation date.
Having happily watched the restarting of cruising (finally)...and seeing the mostly positive experiences outweighing the negative ones...we're fairly certain this cruise won't be cancelled...! 🙂 (We've had two cancelled in previous years.)
But since this will be one of the first Alaska cruises of the season (and since omicron has reared its ugly head), we know there is still some degree of risk involved in cruising...and that these first few early cruises of the new season will probably serve as "test cases" for further covid-protocol tweaking...just as the early Encore Alaskan cruises did when they restarted back in August.
So...just curious...would you have any hesitation in moving forward and making the full final payment...?
if youre on the Bliss (we are) they are sailing already. they have gotten a bunch of practice 🙂

NCL gave us that price $275 ugh

I wonder if they'd make an exception if she's with grandma 😉 darn. probably not 😞

is there an age limit? would my 13 year old granddaughter be able to do this with me? I wonder if the price is less for young
people? it's too early to book, or I could see....

there are so many that I can't go on, I have bad knees. I could rent a scooter for downtown, but are there
any easy excursions? the ones I have seen are level 2 and above for the ones I'm interested in...
maybe things around town that I could see

Ketchikan...look at the Bering Sea Fisherman tour...We've done this twice and enjoyed it.
I wanted to do that with my grandchildren (3 of them) but the cost is prohibitive. ($275/person) I dont remember it being that expensive when we've been on it before.

I’m not a doctor and don’t know about your CPAP. I know I have a CPAP, my wife has.a CPAP and several friends have CPAP and we all commonly use extension cords. If you go on a cruise and try to plug in your CPAP without an extension cord, you are going to have trouble because the bed is not usually close enough to the outlet.
some extension cords are not rated for the power required by a CPAP so that might be your doctor’s concern but ask the doctor.
I will 🙂 another thing. Mine is a Dreamstation. recalled. But, haven't heard a peep about this lately. hopefully, I eventually get one

We noticed a lot of people standing in line at guest services because "the electrical power in the cabin was not working". I could not properly put the post with the pictures so I have linked a document to help you. The power in your cabin IS probably working but you have to insert a card into a slot on the wall. Also, I have a picture of what the power outlet in your cabin looks like and voltage information. Note that if you use a CPAP machine or other device that is on your bedside, the power outlet is normally across the cabin from your bedside table so you will need an extension cord.
I was told by my dr to never use an extension cord for my CPAP. it also says that in the manual. ?

I had a cruise booked for May 21st 2022. It had Ketchikan, Juneau, Icy Straight and Indicott Arm and Dawes Glacier.
I checked today...and Sitka was added? weird.
And, where on the ncl website can I find the excursions I've already booked??? And, I just checked for more excursions to book, and they don't have any for Ketchikan or Victoria. I'm so confused. I booked the Duck tour for Ketchikan and can't find it. whew.
anyway, excited to cruise in May!!! Racetrack, Mini Golf and Spa, here we come!
