  1. I know Coastal Kitchen is open for breakfast and dinner.

    1. Is Coastal Kitchen open for lunch, as well?

    2. If so, is Coastal Kitchen open on embarkation day?

    3. Must you make reservations for dinner?

    4. If so, can you make reservations prior to embarking like you can for specialty restaurants and shows?

Thanks for the information - appreciate it!

  2. I read there are 2 attendants who will provide drink service the entire day. Everyone has a drink package, but surely these people will deserve some extra tips in the hot sun. How did you do this - tip each drink? Or a nice amount given at first drink or a nice amount given at end of day? Just not sure which would work best - any advice appreciated.

  3. The description says 2 floating mats and towels. It does not say how many towels are provided - anyone who rented a bungalow please tell how many towels - do you leave them at bungalow when going back to ship - or take back to ship. I was just wondering since there is a $25 fee if towels not returned. Thanks for any information - appreciate it!

  4. 1. Our original reservation said 6 p m for dinner - and it was changed to 5:30 a few weeks ago. Have you found it to be 5:30 also? That just seems a little early.

    2. Is Traditional Dining in American Icon, Silk, or Grande?

    3. Is dress code more relaxed for men on formal nights - must I wear a coat/tie? Or is a collared shirt and dress pants fine? This seems to vary from ship to ship - if on Allure what have you seen on formal night ?

  5. I know this was asked on the boards previously - and I have read differing answers. We are Diamond + - our two married sons - one second Royal cruise - other son first. Is there ANY chance they would be able to board with us? I know in the past some reps allowed this and others no way. I just wondered if anyone has had recent experience with this. I believe this depends on the ship and the rep. If NOT allowed - NO problem - we will follow the rules, but it appears as thought rules bent in past for some. Just asking - how handled recently for any in the same situation.

    Thanks for your help !

  6. A few years ago we rented a cabana at Labadee - we had a great experience. This year we will be renting a bungalow - mainly due to new pricing - cabanas now double the price of a few years ago, and bungalows the price of what a cabana once was. I am interested in someone who has experienced both - will we be at all disappointed in the bungalow vs. the cabana? What was your opinion of the bungalow - and any suggestions on tipping - per drink or just an amount at end of day? Thanks for any information.

  7. So, for formal nights in MDR it WILL be ok if I wear dress pants, dress shoes, and a nice dress shirt WITHOUT a tie, without a jacket? I know what is suggested, but flying and packing so much easier without a suit or tux. OR do I need to take a tie to wear with a dress shirt and no jacket - looking for advice - sailing on Allure.

  8. Sailing Allure of the Seas in a few weeks. When I sailed Royal Caribbean about 10 years ago, I would always wear a tux on formal nights. Then I slipped to a suit - even though I adhered to the suggested dress for men, many men just had a collared dress shirt, no coat, no tie. Yesterday I called Royal - and the rep said I MUST wear a tux or suit - or I would have to eat at the Windjammer. I have seen dress become more relaxed through the years, but is this now true? I know this is a beat to death topic, but those who have recently cruised, please advise. It is not as much a matter of what I want to wear or not, but making packing easier since we are flying to FLL. Please advise - thanks for your help!

  9. Can you tell me the name of the dining room - Grand, American Icon, Chic, or Asian (forget name). I read Allure MDR was divided into these restaurants before Dynamic Dining was put to bed. I was wondering which of these is for 5:30 Traditional Dining. Thanks for anyone with this information. And also - which deck?

  10. I thanked you directly on your blog, but am thanking you again on here in case that didn't go through. It was very kind of you to take the time to post all your suite pics. We are in your same type cabin (suite) only on the very front of the ship for our upcoming Panama Canal cruise. Looking forward to more of your pics and any advice you might have. What NOT to miss on the ship - what to skip; are bowling alleys still in lounge? Thanks again - appreciate your time! Did most of ship look in pretty good shape since I read entire ship was not refurbished - just some areas. We sailed Gem a few years ago and colors were extremely bright and sometimes even clashing in cabin - these look "more relaxed" - also makes cabin look even larger with the muted colors.

  11. What was done to all cabins since dry dock? New rugs, drapes, furniture? One article stated all cabins were redone, but there were no pictures. If anyone has sailed since dry dock - - please let us know, and better yet - post some cabin pics. Thanks so much - smooth sailing!!

  12. If anyone is on Pearl now - let us know if she still has the palm tree lampposts all around the pool area - and if she still has little fish on the hallway carpeting facing the front of the ship ? And of course pictures of anything new would be greatly appreciated by all !!! Was buffet area refurbished?

  13. Does NCL offer luggage valet as some other cruise lines do? With this - we each paid twenty dollars - had our air tickets printed on the ship - and then luggage was delivered directly to airport and loaded on plane - we never saw luggage till home. This was a great time saver as did not have to search for luggage in cruise terminal - and just was an easy off through customs. Thanks for any information - from what I understand this often depends on the airline - we are flying American.
