  1. We did this excursion in October. Water was clear and warm - did not notice a drop off where we were. Lounge chairs were provided for all - no extra cost, but no umbrellas. Various sodas, beer, and punch was served by a young man on the island - he also provided bags of chips and packs of peanut butter crackers for all - also part of cost of excursion. I found this much more relaxing than Megan's bay - only about 40 people on entire beach - very relaxing, nice beach. I would go back again - no crowds and beach chairs for all. Everyone tipped the young man when we left as he was accommodating with chairs and generous with snacks and drinks. He also provided noodles for floating in the water - again no charge for those. Hope they keep this excursion - on way back to ship stopped on hillside for a great view of harbor and all ships docked - great pic opportunity. Go for it!

  2. I have NO problem pre paying gratuities. As a matter of fact - I always pre pay event though we always want MDR early traditional seating. If I have my TA pay my gratuities up front - I should be able to get my dining time. Doesn't seem to help - even though I always pay up front. For those that have been put on wait list - how long do you usually have to wait to hear what dining you have - hope it doesn't take till final payment.

  3. To clarify my original post - our friends booked and were confirmed for early dining - traditional - 6 months ago. We just booked this week - yes, both TA's linked the reservations. I called my TA and she said since friends have 6 pm and we linked and we Elite - it will happen. It might take some time till system updates or she said it might even just happen very close to sailing. So I will be patient.

  4. We booked a Summit cruise for August 2016 - we wanted 6:00 MDR traditional dining - it shows us as SELECT DINING - says all times early and late are filled for traditional - Our friends talked us into this cruise and we want to dine with them - they are confirmed at 6. As Elite cruisers - do we have a better chance of eventually getting our 6:00 dining time with our friends. Both TA's linked our reservations. What has your experience been with being on a wait list - I find it hard to believe that ALL dining times are full this early in the booking.

If this was posted before, I apologize, was having some computer problems.

  5. We sailed the last voyage of Liberty before she moved from Cape Liberty to Galveston. We had a great meal at CHOPS - but NO pretzel bread sticks!!! I asked for them but all they served was onion bread. I was just wondering if this is the same fleet wide - sailing Grandeur in January and was hoping they might still be served.

  6. Aside from the end family cabins on each side - are the rest of the balconies on AFT Summit all the same size? Can you see balconies below - looks like they are on a step like configuration. If anyone has pics of balcony and what you see from railing (balcony below) please post.

    Thanks so much!

  7. Sailing in January on Grandeur - there will be 2 formal nights. Can I wear a dress shirt and tie - really don't want to wear a suit or a sport coat. Hoping to make packing easier and more comfortable dress after days at the beach. Please advise - thanks! Or must I wear a jacket to get into MDR - seems this varies by ship.

  8. On our recent Liberty of the Seas cruise - instead of having to go to the Diamond Lounge for the 3 free drinks - they were loaded on our seapass card and we could get them at any bar or lounge. Is this the case on all ships?? or just the larger ones. We have a cruise booked on the Grandeur of the Seas - a much smaller ship - will they be loaded on the seapass card on Grandeur as well? It was nice - hope the same - if anyone sailed Grandeur - please advise. Thanks!

  9. When you log into MY NCL - is there a place that shows reservations linked to yours. We have 2 other couples sailing with us. On other lines - it shows that we are linked. I do not see this - perhaps I am looking at the wrong place? Thanks!

  10. I am confused as to why you said you can no longer get the ultimate dining package. We booked a suite on Pearl and the perks given were:

    1. All gratuities pre paid.

    2. Ultimate dining package for all nights

    3. Shipboard credit

    4. $75 credit in each port of call for shore excursions

I thought this was a great deal and our amenities on my NCL still lists Ultimate Dining Package (for all nights).

I am confused - please advise!
  11. I understand if you purchase the Ultimate Dining Package you dine in a specialty restaurant each night for dinner. I understand you can make reservations prior to cruising online. Question, if you really like two restaurants - could you go to only those 2 and repeat for length of cruise or are you assigned so many nights in each specialty restaurant?? Thanks for any information - appreciate it.
  12. If anyone has any pics or comments either pro or con about this forward penthouse - please post pics and/or comments. Thank you so much - sailing Panama canal and thought this would be an ideal cabin when going through the locks. Thanks so much!
