  1. Thanks so much for the information. I spent over 2 hours trying to get into Royal website to cancel - it finally said click here to cancel - then it scrolled for another 15 minutes and then said Royal Caribbean is on vacation - try later -- cute but not funny when trying to do business. Then I called and cancelled via phone - should have done that right away. That was yesterday and today my shore excursion is still on my calendar. I will give it some time, but usually when a change I get an email within a minute.

I am frustrated when people get angry to those posting who complain about Dynamic Dining - I am really looking forward to it, but it sure is frustrating to set things up - and then have them appear/disappear etc. Royal needs a better computer system - it takes forever to set things up and then sometimes you just get the "on vacation message."

  2. I know it is terribly hectic catching up on mail and job once returned from a cruise. I will patiently wait for your pictures:) Luggage tags ordered! Thanks again - the anticipation of our March cruise is exciting and my wife does not know I booked the SGS - it is hard to keep from telling her. I guess suite will be printed on luggage tag, then my secret will be over.

  3. Glad to hear you loved your SGS - not sailing till March - what did you like best about SGS? Did you spend a lot of time on the balcony - did you use room service? Did you mind that corner divider blocking the view? I know someone else said good it was there to block the wind?

  4. First - thanks for all the pics !! Overall, it sounds like you were very happy with SGS and I patiently (HA) await all your pics - If you don't want to post all of them - feel free to send them directly to me at Treacher1@aol.com. Whatever works best for you is fine.

Also, I was hesitant to hit the send button as someone said they charged $35 to send tags, but since in suite charge should be waived. I will hit the request they be sent button, and if they charge can question later. You have been so kind with all your information - I hope your post cruise depression isn't too severe. Or maybe you don't experience that like I do. Take care!

  5. You are taking good advantage of the free wifi - writing from your couch - ahhh, how nice. I usually don't even hit the internet when on vacation. I agree - I think the large porthole plus the 2 huge window/doors in the suite make it especially nice. Are you aware you get free room service in your suite?? We never use it for evening meals, but love it on port days - have breakfast delivered to avoid the crowds in the WJ. Enjoy the weather - the high in PA today was 16 - but windchill real feel is 3. We had 3 inches of snow yesterday - so we think of all of you on the beautiful new Quantum. It sounds like you are "soaking it in" and enjoying your cruise. Wish you smooth sailing and lots of good food and fun. Thanks again, you are so kind for posting this information - I would buy you a drink- ha - but you bought the package. I will also enjoy the hot chocolate when leaving Bayonne and cold. Take care!!
  6. Do you find the balcony divider at the corner of your hump balcony a pain? Is it true you can only slide one part of divider over? I wish that divider were not there. Maybe it will not ruin the view too much?? I just thought this would be like an aft wraparound which is wide open. Small thing, I guess, but one of the reasons I booked this suite was because of the balcony -- just a little disappointed once I saw pics online - your thoughts? Thanks!!
  7. Maybe they just disappeared as the whole reservation does a day before sailing. There are so many people who are so kind and give so much information on Cruise Critic - much appreciated! I hope all your reservations are fine - it is upsetting when a few people criticize or judge people for being upset about lost reservations -it is upsetting. Weather supposed to be rainy/icy tomorrow am- have a safe trip wherever you are coming from for the cruise. ENJOY - and don't waste precious cruise time sending us pics - but send us LOADS when you get home. Thanks again!!

  8. So now you have information on the hot chocolate which will taste good sailing from the cold Cape Liberty. Yes, that is the name of the bakery/sweet shop.

And you have such a good memory - I wanted pics of the SGS bathroom and of balcony. Was so hoping that entire balcony divider could be removed on the corner. Looking at pics from others appears as though you can slide half of it to make an opening to the corner balcony. That is a shame - so not a true wrap around balcony like aft - divider blocks view.

Anxiously await all your pics - bathroom AND balcony. I plan to move my round table with 2 chairs to the triangle part of balcony and leave the loungers on the rectangular part.

AND - I also read that SGS gets FREE room service which I love on port days for breakfast to avoid the WJ crowds.

Wishing you smooth sailing and lots of great times on the beautiful Quantum of the Seas - hope all your reservations work out ok. This has got to get better! ENJOY!! And thanks in advance for the pics.

  9. I mentioned this on a previous post, and I will say it again. Many of us are NOT against a new method of cruising. We are totally frustrated with how cumbersome it is to make dining and entertainment reservations - and some people board and even though the reservations are on the tv in their cabin - the restaurant has NO record of the reservation. THAT is frustrating - so we go in March - hope all these computer glitches are resolved till then. It is not the new cruising - it is the losing of reservations that some are experiencing that we find so aggravating. We are not negative - just frustrated. Smooth sailing to all!!

  10. I loved traditional dining, but I am open to Dynamic Dining and think it will be nice visiting the different restaurants. But, this "smart ship" needs to really get smart and stop losing reservations which we spent hours to set up to coordinate dining and shows. I hope things soon are corrected - I am tired of people bashing others for being frustrated. We are NOT against change, but expressing frustration in setting things up - too much work - and then to find out that reservations have been wiped out - extremely frustrating.
