  1. I've read that Karl the fog can roll in around 3 in the afternoon. Does this happen often and will it impact our departure from port time? Will it cover the view of the Golden Gate bridge?
  2. Have you tried anytime dining? I went at 5:30 right when they opened up and there were maybe a dozen people eating at that time. Service was great and I was out of there by 6:00. I was solo and my server would bring my appetizer and main course at the same time. I did not object to this. Most of the time I skipped desert anyway. It worked for me.
  3. Wow, I never knew. Thank you so much for your response.
  4. God forbid but in the event you will need to air lifted off the ship, is your hubby allowed to travel with you or do they meet you at the next port? Thanks!
  5. Go into your cruise manager. Under my to do list you will find print documents. Click on print luggage tags and it will show you exactly what you need to know.
  6. I wouldn't rule out Carnival. We sailed in May 2017. Hubby and I aren't party people. There were maybe 10 kids on the ship and most nights everyone was in bed by 10. With cooler temps in Alaska there are no lido deck parties.
  7. Have you tried your time dining? Same MDR food and in my opinion faster service.
  8. Talk to your PVP and they should link the cruises for you. I also go down to guest services and notify them that the cruises should be linked. You never know of a computer glitch. I also inform the cabin steward that I'm doing a B2B just so they don't haul away my luggage. If you have OBC left, go down to the casino and load it onto a slot machine, spin once then cash out. Go to the casino cashier and tell them you want to cash out. If you play in the casino, make sure to cash out the last night or you will loose all the money on your account. We did a B2B on the Dream and when they walked us back on the ship they took a picture of all of us and served us mimosas. If you like your table assignment on the first leg, take to the matried and ask for the same table assignment for the next cruise. If you have assigned dining. Enjoy your B2B!!
  9. Listen for announcements by the cruise director. He/she will announce where to go if you want to get priority debarkation in a tender port. The meeting place may also be listed in the fun times.
  10. I would guess there would be 4 nights. Usually on a 7 day there is 2 elegant nights.
  11. Technically you could be the first one off the ship. No one is checking your credentials to make sure you are following the rules.
  12. With priority debarkation you should get a luggage tag with zone one or two and they will be the first zones you encounter when you exit the ship to get your luggage.
  13. Looking at an interior room under the bridge. Is it noisy at this location? I wouldn't think so but would like to hear your experiences. Thanks.
  14. I've read that Karl the fog can roll in around 3 in the afternoon so be prepared. Can you tell how the fog is? Is it thick like pea soup or visibility of a mile or so. I suppose the temp will drop rapidly as well. Thanks.
  15. Has anyone used the local transit in Juneau? It looks like you can take route 7 all the way out to the Mendanhall glacier from close to the port. Care to share your experience with me? Thanks.
  16. We did a May sailing in 2017. There was still snow on the mountain tops with I felt added to awesome scenery. The weather was decent enough. We wore layers.
  17. Everyone will say take the train in Skagway and I second that. It was truly breathtaking to see the scenery on the descent up the mountain. They stop on the way down and you can have your picture taken in front of the Welcome to Alaska sign.
