  1. If wishing to stay close to the cruise terminal for an excellent Lunch, then it has to be Champers. A short cab ride away.
  2. No, but one’s tour driver can drop your party off on the way back to port. Then take cab back from one’s restaurant choice. Cab fare? About US$ 25/30 for either place. Both will call a cab when ready. At JUJU’s the owner may even offer to drive for the same fare. Or, if adventurous, catch the Reggie bus back to town for a couple of dollars each, and for a small gratuity they have been known to drive to the dock gates, or bus depot. Just ask on boarding. Be aware, in USA busses drive in the right side of the road. In Barbados they drive identical to the UK, this being on the correct side of the road. So one will have to cross the main road to catch a bus to town. Both restaurants will correctly direct one’s party.
  3. One will then suggest a walking tour with a “Local”….. Link - https://www.toursbylocals.com/WalkingTourofBasseterre
  4. In addition to these useful suggestions, send an email to one’s TA to immediately register a formal complaint with Cunard In Southampton. Also involve one’s MD in the restaurant, saying out of desperation not knowing where else to go for help, MD’s are “Senior Officer”.
  5. Welcome to CC Explore the town equates to viewing shops, stalls, and a few churches. That’s about it. Take a tour, or head to Nevis with Bluewater Safaris, then walk down to beach to Sunshine’s to be brave with a few Killer Bees. PS Nearly forgot… If a Cigar Aficionado then pay a visit to https://shop.lcdh.com For a slow smoke with a glass of something special.
  6. If dining they have an area where luggage is deposited while one dines, a small gratuity to luggage staff is appreciated. Definitely book dining in advance. However, one previously did leave luggage when not dining, where the fee was $5 per item, and out of courtesy did request/advise in advance. It was recently posted on CC that there was no charge for non-diners, who just rock up, but one has no first hand knowledge of this.
  7. Caveat Emptor Around the port area, there were stalls and shops offering “paintings” etc, purporting to be by “Local Artists”, but originate from “factories” in China, Easter Europe, India etc.. Play it safe, and contact Kate Spencer, a World renowned artist, to see if Kate’s Studio is open for a visit when one arrives, or if Kate has returned to having her own store in town. Special art pieces, all made by hand in her studio. https://www.facebook.com/SKNArtPrints/
  8. As the one who attributed “mongrel” to Anne, can confirm we have seven future Cunard Voyages booked, none of which are on Anne.
  9. If considering a vacation, then can recommend a Bluff stay at Curtain Bluff. Their Beach rooms are also excellent. Sometimes, they have capacity for a day stay, but best to make an enquiry in advance giving stay date. Top class service.
  10. If Orient is the destination of choice, then consider COCO Beach, but book day/lunch in advance. https://www.cocobeach.restaurant
  11. To assist when viewing Menus. The prices are in Eastern Caribbean Dollars. As a quick rough calculation to change ECD to US$ - Divide ECD by 2 - Then deduct 20%
  12. Can only suggest one…. The MangoTree Don’t forget to view their Chef’s Specials on the board. Tastebud joys. Book early for one of their front row “Pitons” tables.
  13. Then obviously it’s best to contact https://www.visitantiguabarbuda.com They will know…
  14. There are dry cleaners and laundromats throughout Rome, so one can select a Hotel with an eye to providers. Think some Laundromats do a drop off, wash and fold service, so one can enjoy viewing beautiful sites, rather than viewing the front of an ugly machine.
  15. Marmalade - Take the wine pairing Menu - Book early Barrachina - Take the Chef’s Special Seafood Paella ( 2 sharing) - Book early
  16. A luxury (limited to 12 pax) catamaran sail, lunch, snorkel and swim with either.. https://silvermoonbarbados.com https://www.elegancebarbados.com Great Lunch and cocktails at Tides Or Super “local” lunch at JuJu’s Or take an Island Tour with Beautiful Barbados
  17. It was a few years ago, when our group of 6 did through STARFISH. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The bus was huge, so there was plenty of space. Checked and they’re still in business with good reviews https://www.stjohnislandtours.com
  18. At a very competitive price point is The Riverside, being well known and popular with cruisers. Close to bars and restaurants. But no shuttles, but a short Uber or Cab ride away.
  19. Sorry to jump in…. But we have switched our allegiance from Pillars to Conrad, because the service levels are a notch above…. So another recommendation for Conrad.
  20. The price point is what it is for this luxury resort, which attracts those who wish to enjoy the special ambiance, quality food and drinks. Those that baulk at the price don’t go. Consider it like a top class golf course is Spain, where a round of golf can cost $250 and a round of golf at a “hackers” course costs $20. What amazes one, is those who do wish to pay the required price point, complain about it’s level. Many cruisers do visit, why not join them?
  21. Another vote for The Naked Fisherman… A special place with a chilled ambiance, with great food, drinks and service. Or make it an AI day at the Cap…
  22. It’s good to visit an island, to enjoy it’s beauty and people and contribute to the local economy. What goes around……..
  23. Pleased one was able to pre-book the Pass/Tour required.
