  1. Personally, for something that’s very special, qwerty and not available anywhere else, then it has to be a Rock Pool Day at Sheer Rocks, with the little extras that raise the experience to the next level. The food, drinks and service are excellent at both SR and Catherine’s (being part of the same company), but the views from SR take a lot of beating. There is no beach at SR SR also offers a Day Pass for a sun bed by the communal pool, with the spectacular views, plus the same excellent service, food and drinks If seeking a “Beach Day”, with excellent food/drinks/service, well away from S.H.T. in Antigua, then the recommendation has to be Catherine’s Cafe. Book early at both as space is deliberately limited. Check out their respective webs and TripAdvisor to then make an informed decision.
  2. Look on TripAdvisor, there are over a dozen posted. Just scroll through. If wishing specific photographs, then call Sheer Rocks, they will be happy to take and send.
  3. Suggest one gives Sheer Rocks a call…. Sheer Rocks owns Catherine’s.

    Beach

Never, because it’s a no facilities, no beds, no bars, no cabs, no security place. Work on $35.00 e/w plus tip… But don’t bet on a driver coming back, even if booked. If an excellent quiet beach day away from…… is required, book one’s lunch/day at Catherine’s. Or For something different and very special, then consider a Rock Pool Day at Sheer Rocks. Check them both out. https://catherines-cafe.com https://sheer-rocks.com
  5. If just visiting, not wishing loungers and upscale dining, then many one suggest.. Beach Bar with Nibbles - Max’s Place Or A good relaxed shabby chic lunch and drinks - Océan 82
  6. What’s that smell? - Horse? - No, not Horse - Cow? - No, it’s not Cow - Bull? - Yes, it’s Bull! It takes between 20 and 30 minutes to get there. And even if one allows 1 hour for seriously heavy traffic for the return, in normal circumstances there should be no problem.
  7. It’s a spectacular view, then having walked the beach taking in the sights and sounds, if wishing to take lunch there are two good Restaurants overlooking the sea. One’s personal recommendations for Lunch. Tides for Excellent food with great cocktails. Also an extensive wine list. Ethnic Barbados, then it has to be JuJu’s - on the beach Or for fine gourmet dining then next door to JuJu’s is Lone Star.
  8. There are excellent recent critiques from cruisers actually sailing on Elegance and Moons also confirmations from cruisers making new bookings on “adult only” moon, as per Tyler414 post #4 above
  9. Additional Have a tour for an idea of what’s available https://maps.app.goo.gl/oaf4kmvN9fnJNum47?g_st=im
  10. There is no such thing as a decent low cost tour in SJ. But, consider a day of spend/save retail therapy, head for Fortaleza Street to find designer outlet stores and other shopping opportunities. Think one’s girls may find this option attractive.
  11. Correct….The outward driver will be pleased to be booked for the return to ship.
  12. Can time book the outward, but wishing to go with the flow, then Catherine’s will be happy to call a local one for you.
  13. Cab… Too far to walk….No idea on price… But guess per cab about $20 e/w including tip.
  14. Taxi 1 minute or walk 4 minutes
  15. For those who may be considering an Elegance or Moon, having thoughts as to if value for money. Then add what would be considered a fair $ value to each of the items listed, total, then compare against a Cat Day Operator’s price. Think the Math will surprise many. Luxury 4 Hour Cruise Along Coast Of Barbados Choice Of Luxury Seating Tranquil Settings Relaxing Ambience Top Notch Personal Service No Crowds (No S.H.T.) Unlimited Snacks Excellent Lunch Unlimited Soft Drinks Unlimited Beers Unlimited Wines Unlimited Spirits Snorkel With Turtles Dive And Swim From Ship (Also Shower) Having A Wonderful Day
  16. Out of interest, googled and discovered Open Table is a third party Restaurant Booking Company, when one can book to dine. Fail to understand what purpose OT serves for booking a Restaurant, when Restaurants already have a booking opportunity on a website. Catherine’s Cafe is an upmarket Restaurant which has additional services, being the availability of sun beds and other facilities for paying patrons, It appears, from information supplied by @deew0424, they had booked to dine at 10.30 am, which would be a “Brunch” and they do not wish to sit in the Restaurant to take Brunch. This will not be a problem, as Catherine’s is flexible to the requirements of their paying customers.
  17. Can only speak for direct booking with Catherine’s. Usually one books, receives a confirmation direct from Catherine’s. Arrive, check in, booking verified, escorted to beds, bedside drinks service arrives. Then when ready to take Lunch, one can decide to take a beach lunch at one’s bed, or move to the Restaurant. Had no idea what Open Table was, neither have no knowledge of what OT has offered or confirmed. Therefore, to end any confusion feel it’s a best to contact OT, as one’s booking is made with them.
  18. No idea regarding booking an open table at Catherine’s. Never heard of it. Must be something new. Give Catherine’s a call or missive. Normally, just book with Catherine’s one’s lunch/day, take loungers on arrival, chair service drinks and a beach lunch in situ, or remove to the restaurant. Maybe open table is a generic term for their usual “as one wishes”. Think one is confirming to have made the booking of an “open table” with Christine’s, but not wishing to take drinks/lunch, but only have use of their beds. Always given to understand the beds and facilities are for the use of patrons who take lunch/drinks
  19. Taxis available…… No problem People have mentioned that on the journey back by bus, it’s sometimes frightening to watch the Lemming rush and urban gorilla war fare (elbows out etc), of those wishing to board from beach stops. Bus drivers have been known to deliberately stop short of, or past, a stop. There are good bars within the secure port area.
  20. Taxi Fares ……https://www.antiguanice.com/v2/documents/Taxi and tour fares - ABTB final.pdf Outward driver will be pleased to be booked for the timed return.
  21. There is no facility to book day pass from website. We booked our day room direct in advance by telephone. But their room pricing is now fluid and pushing towards being considered a tad expensive. Some just book a day room by telephone. Many book by Email reservation@stkittsmarriott.com - Or Janice.Laing@stkittsmarriott.com. They will reply promptly and happy to answer all questions including current pricing. TTE Protocol is to just rock up, big smile, approach desk, flash cash, don’t tell them one is from Carnival (lie), take lift, press down, set up a bar tab, enjoy. A day pass comes with the benefit of Hotel discounts.
  22. This was very kind of you to put in the effort……….
