Personally, would not stay at either of @njhorseman suggestions. If it’s just for one night pre-cruise, consider a Guest House, such at Novana and the like, simple, clean, comfortable and in OSJ, then use the savings as a good contribution to splurge on La Concha post cruise.

Little tip. From about 4 in the afternoon liquid sunshine sometimes appears. So, before leaving on a cruise purchase some cheap plastic disposable Ponchos, for the pocket. Always take to a Caribbean Beach, if not used, then have for next time. If experiencing Liquid Sunshine then one can shelter in the bar (hardship) awaiting cab. Sadly, those on GA will have a Lemming stampede to the sea shuttle and have to Q in the rays.

If this is what one wishes, then it’s a go to place. However, some like the Babylon masses of Grand Anse and all that goes with it, therefore GA is their go to place.
