Additional - Remember
Fort de France is a fully working French town/port, think Calais. It’s not what one may perceive as being the usual Caribbean island port/town, such as St.Johns Antigua.
There is a main thoroughfare, about 5 minutes from town pier, with shops etc., with other outlets down side streets off. There is also a large Carrefour supermarket 15/20 minutes walk north of the town port. As Martinique is actually part of France, the shop prices are identical to, sometimes higher, those found in a main town in France.
If making a high value purchase, then ask for a Tax Free form (Passport required), drop off the tax reclaim firm at the port Customs office.
