  1. Think flying in on the sailing date is a tad risky. Best to ask Cunard.
  2. Personally, one would go for a full day Catamaran sail, sightsee, Maho planes, snorkell, lunch, drinks etc etc. Best to Google charter companies, then contact each for availability, as some will have already committed to the Cruise Line. Good Luck…
  3. No need for any concern. Plenty of taxis available at port. On return the venue will call a taxi if none available, which there should be. Could be possible for a group minivan taxi for attendees, which the venue would arrange. Unable to critique as never attended course. Enjoy
  4. On a WC (albeit whole or a part Voyage of a WC) every Thursday guests are issued with a voucher which enables them to visit the liquor store, purchase and take immediately, or if not on the shelf, have their purchase/s delivered to their stateroom. Very civilised, very Cunard.
  5. If, as stated, Duty Free shopping is of interest, then Sunset Crest in Holetown will not disappoint.
  6. One does not get alcohol “past” security, but openly through it. If anyone is unsure of Cunard’s alleged flexible alcohol policy, then just comply with the Cunard published T&C. No need to post again on this thread.
  7. Ahhhh… A Party… A fun function where invitees only attend, with the unwanted filtered out
  8. Addendum If one requires an upmarket experience without the noise of jet skis, then consider taking a day pass in a family hotel room at the Marriott. Place to store clothing, valuables and shower. Food and drinks good quality. Taxi $20 each way, being better value than $8 pp for Carambola, and not a T’erd in sight.
  9. Sounds like the requirement is for a beach with noise, herds, average food/drinks, q for facilities, with some snorkelling (St K is not great) and a shuttle minibus there and back. Then one will find all this at Carambola.
  10. One can view, select and pay online, then just collect. Simples… https://www.totalwine.com/store-info/florida-fort-lauderdale/904 Aditional. When searching, type your required style in the search bar at top of TW page, not a symbol in the central section.
  11. Previous FL embarkation 7 years ago, 6 spirits and 8 wine, all from Total Wine
  12. What’s possible. Personal record is 27 bottles (spirits) and even a barrel. Hand cart? Seen 3 cases of Widower, plus another case (?), being pulled along Take enough to enjoy.
  13. The moderator should be able to re-establish your profile. Send an Email. Taxi each way - The outward taxi will collect at the time required. The covered market quayside will sell everything on the wish list, including a good Duty Free shop, with more spice stalls outside towards the back. Enjoy…
  14. Agree, patience is needed, because of the 28 day reply protocol. Are you sitting comfortably? Once upon a time, there were PCSs, one call, or one email and problem solved in a matter of a day/s, with no subsequent errors or mistakes. Now? …. Think there are more people (Snowflakes?) now, but not as productive, except in the creation of mistakes, or extending the acceptable deemed time to rectify errors. This is the evidence of a new, improved and modernised Cunard, moving forward with the times that “today’s people” require.
  15. Think this account, plus others, too numerous to mention, happen because it’s being part of the Cunard Family, in one’s second home on the sea. And there’s no such thing as a global MD Mafia……😉
  16. Easy reach? Consider a visit to George Washington’s house in Bridgetown. Then off to retail therapy of choice in Holetown, followed by a long lunch and drinks at Tides
  17. The event attracted the greedy crowd, now It appears they are joined by the rude and bad mannered. Not a good mix. Don’t worry, Cunard’s future is in their hands.
  18. Bun Fight - It’s an expression meaning a feeding frenzy by many over a single item i.e. a bun. One’s opinion is based on witnessing many a feeding frenzy over obtaining a second drink, or to store multiples of various types, to then carry into Dinner. One has and will continue to pass. Better drinks and ambiance in other parts of the ship.
  19. As stated previously FDF is a French working port town, traffic, offices, shops, supermarkets etc. Think Calais. It is definitely not a typical Caribbean Island town that some may have in their minds. Best souvenir is found in the Duty Free - La Favorite La Filbuste Rhum
  20. The gardens are about 7 miles from FDF with plenty of taxis available. Budget about €20.00 each way. FDF is a French working port town, traffic, offices, shops, supermarkets etc. Think Calais. 21. Additional If seeking duty free purchases of fine alcoholic beverages then http://www.gulmoharsxm.com/ 3/4 minutes from the midtown water taxi pier.
  22. Water taxi drops one at the pier in Great Bay. Plenty of eager and very attentive vendors will enthusiastically encourage one to frequent their section of the beach.@ $20 for two beds and umbrella. There is no pre-booking. The water? There is a, let’s say effluent, problem with a sewer outfall at the Marina end of the bay. Best to alight the water taxi at midtown stop, along short pier, turn left (Duty Free and Public Toilets immediately to your left), then keep walking until one reaches the furthest point, then select the position. Plenty of bars and restaurants all along the bay who allow use of toilets if a customer.
  23. Think it will be so…. But then again, not bothered either way, as stopped going to the bun fight many years ago.
