  1. Interesting posts. It appears the only resolution to the current Cunard Internet woes would be for the “purchase” system to revert back to the per minute use/pay. But Cunard would only consider to do this if complaints reach saturation point at GS or the whole system collapsed. One now will do one’s bit. On the QM for Canada in September and one used to send the occasional email and photographs to friends and family as requested. But from now on it will be sending regular mega videos and downloads to deliberately assist in draining the system. Who will join in?
  2. Barbados in town centre markets areas after dark = Stay in a group. No bling, no expensive clothing, no credit cards, no expensive phones or cameras, minimum cash in pockets and if holding a small wad hide away from sight in a restricted access position. Best to take a dinner/drinks sunset cruise. There are selections with times between 3 and 5ish hours. Remember you get the experience one pays for. Consider “Elegance”… Used for day and night cruises and never disappointed.
  3. Have purchased Barbour items for personal use and brand purchases would also make nice gifts. On last trip there were some overpriced Waterford Crystal silver trinkets (purported to be jewellery), which the OBC makes them free, but did not purchase.
  4. Why is there an import regarding the number of Launderettes? Could it be one has discovered another personal reason not to book this Mongrel?
  5. It happens, luckily it’s only a minor repair. Many manufacturers can supply a new handle (self fit) and one’s actually repairs/replaces FOC Best to contact the maker’s customer service.
  6. One can answer from personal experience regarding a Boarding Pass saga which may assist. After weks of exchanges, without success, we arrived at checkin without said documents, then when questioned about their whereabouts, one produced/presented a hard copy dossier of all the exchanges, with the words “You sort it out”. Associate left desk, the about 5/6 minutes later she returned with the passes (printed). So obviously there is could be a method for Cunard to access one’s account.
  7. Not personally, but the women from our group of friends had a ‘Girls Only” day out. They had a blast (Captain and Crew survived). Will book again.
  8. For a small family party, then consider Sailing St. Kitts. Nice people
  9. Cab @ $8.00 pp plus tip each way. 2 Beds and umbrella was $15 some time ago, think best to work on $20 total
  10. How true… Only ‘Trade’ make offers to sell.
  11. If one wishes to sail Cunard and the price is ‘X’, then so be it. One gets the cruise on one’s line of choice. Not interested in per diem, size, extras or ‘Ow Mooch?’ comparisons.
  12. Well said! One selects to cruise Cunard, regardless of price, albeit £1000 or £2000 more expensive, because one feels comfortable there. Also, booking Cunard goes a long way to eliminate the potential for any disappointments. It’s one’s money therefore it’s one’s choice.
  13. Check time lines - Without any delays Arrive 2pm Get luggage 3pm Get cab 3.15 earliest Arrive hotel and check in 3.45 Drop luggage 4pm Start drive to Rain Forest 4.15 Arrive/Start tour 5.30 - Dusk starting Sunset (dark) 7pm If workable, get the Hotel to arrange the tour cab at checkin
  14. Sometimes the start times and durations of tours can give an indication.
  15. Short walk from the Cruise Terminal
  16. Reduced mobility. Then politely suggest to combine both cocktails and restaurant with living the feeling inside the history of Old San Juan. Consider Barrachina, taking cocktails/drinks, nibbles and conversation while sitting in their Courtyard, followed by Dinner. To make it that extra bit memorable, think about their noted special seafood sharing paella (for two), all cooked from scratch, made with care for two only persons. Takes over 30 minutes to prepare by an excellent chef. Enjoy
  17. Sheer Rocks does not, repeat not, have a beach, but great sea views from all aspects. It is wonderfully quirky. Enjoy….
  18. Just walk north after arriving at the OT and meander east/west as one fancies. Almost impossible to get lost Fort (shown in mo) is about a 15 walk west.
  19. Best informative guided tour, in DW opinion, was Andromeda. Excellent value, think it was a flat fee of $100 regardless of number. A small gratuity is greatly appreciated. Best to check direct as to any current COVID restrictions. Taxi from Cruise Terminal and work on maximum of $50 including tip.
  20. Always called, but try sales.manager@stkittsmarriott.com Or Message on Face-ache
  21. What type of shopping? Ideas….. San Juan is safe Plenty of variety of small shops in the Old Town, just stroll around. There are designer outlet stores dotted about and a large three floor Marshall’s (probably meet your wait staff there) If one just wishes to meander, off ship (Old Town), turn left, past large CVS (sells beer, wine and spirits), next turning right and the Old Town is laid out before one, then start the walk.
  22. As an aside. If wishing to book SM, call them, not online, as they often offer a discount, an upgrade or free breakfast to encourage you to book/stay. Not that one will need more encouragement. If breakfast is not immediately offered, just politely and quietly ask if it could be included. Enjoy…..
  23. They did in the past, so is it free now? Do they still offer the day stay pre-flight? Good to have your up to date correct information for the benefit of CC - Thank you
