  1. Honestly, it really isn’t just the Haven bartenders who will do this.
  2. We seem to have started talking about the standard beverage package. This discussion is about the premium plus package where the maths is a lot different.
  3. You say you don’t drink. Did you take the basic free at sea package when booking? I don’t think you can get free at sea plus unless you took the free at sea beverage package.
  4. Absolutely fine in Taste and Savor. In the aft MDR it depends on the ship. I’m not sure whether the Getaway is one that allows shorts or not.
  5. I think this really depends on what you like. If you aren’t much of a drinker but want to try a few things then I absolutely agree. There are loads of options available under the normal package. However, even if you don’t drink huge amounts but have a few specific, expensive, drinks that you like and especially if you enjoy champagne, then the extra cost can make a massive difference. If you like coffee and sparkling water as well then it becomes even better value.
  6. I’m mainly a beer and wine drinker and mainly upgrade for the wine options. Whilst there have sometimes been wines that aren’t available there have always alternatives which work for us. When it comes to spirits, I have no specific types that I must have, but if you really need your specific brand then you may be disappointed.
  7. I think there is a Cellars wine bar on the Escape. We found that bar really good on our last cruise for trying out different wines. I picked a different wine each day to try. We like Champagne too, which quickly makes the plus package worth it. Also don’t forget the non alcoholic drinks. I often grab a coffee when passing Starbucks and always enjoy an espresso after meals (not that they always charge for that anyway). We also get through lots of sparkling water. As mentioned above, the staff are always keen to help you get value out of the package, everywhere on the ship.
  8. You can do all that outside the Haven too.
  9. The T&Cs for the dining package actually look like they may need updating for some restaurants, but they cover most of them: ”SDP meals can be enjoyed at American Diner, Cagney’s Steakhouse, Food Republic, Italian, Le Bistro, Los Lobos, Moderno Churrascaria, Pincho Tapas Bar, Q Texas Smokehouse, Raw Bar, Seafood, Sushi and Teppanyaki.”
  10. No, it is basically a 2 meal dining package. Can be used at all speciality restaurants. The T&Cs are on the website.
  11. Every dinner. This is a benefit of the premium plus beverage package and is not connected with the dinner credits at all. You still get this benefit even if you just take the upgraded beverage package and not the extra meals.
  12. If you have the premium plus beverage package (which comes with FAS+) then you can order a bottle of wine with dinner. There is no voucher or anything. You just order the bottle. The wine list shows which bottles are included. Watch your bill though. We got charged for a bottle of champagne once. It isn’t a major issue though, guest services will remove it.
  13. Lots of people don’t get off at ports for a variety of reasons. We always pick a day or two to just have a relaxing day onboard when it will be quieter. There will be stuff open, but a lot less than when you are at sea. Many bars won’t open until later in the day (although some will be open) and lunch will likely be the buffet or 24 hour place, but there will be things going on.
  14. I’d be surprised if they didn’t. There is usually a special menu on days like this.
  15. There are two different locations in Dublin. One, Dun Laoghaire, is a tender port. Do you know if that’s where you are using? If so then there may be some restrictions on when they can run the tenders.
  16. And people on this board definitely need to stop treating people who have a valid question as though they are idiots who don’t understand basic English words.
  17. Yes, that is correct. This is the problem with old threads being resurrected. They include things which were true at the time they were posted but are now out of date. When Oxo posted that it was correct info.
  18. You need to check the small print: ”For 3rd and 4th Platinum, Sapphire, Diamond, or Ambassador members in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered.”
  19. Dining reservations certainly don’t matter. One person can book for everyone.
  20. You should be able to, yes. We have done it in the past when we sailed with our son.. Just be aware that these things can depend on the individual staff members, so there is a small chance that someone may interpret the rules differently. Very unlikely that would happen though.
  21. The problem is that you discussed it with the CruiseNext staff. If you don';t talk to them about it then there is a lot less confusion. I'm not defending NCL here, just saying that the actual reality is extremely easy if you just use what is on their website and the experience of those of us who have been using these vouchers for years. NCL CruiseNext staff make it complicated, but it really is simple. The OBC is non refundable. However, this is from the T&C's of the NCL website: "Only refundable Onboard Credits and the Non-Refundable Onboard Credit given for purchasing CruieNext deposits may be used towards your CruiseNext purchase."
  22. I'm assuming that you were trying to book a restaurant more than once., At the moment you can't do that online. My guess is that the first three bookings were all at different restaurants and then for the 4th one you tried to book one that you had already reserved. As you have discovered, calling or using chat gets round this.
  23. I’ve never purchased Haven vouchers, so someone else would have to confirm the discounts. I have just done a quick Google though, and it does seem that the discount is lower for Haven vouchers. Basically, if you buy two standard cruisenext vouchers then you get $500 value for $250 but one Haven voucher for $500 will cost $375 or $400 (the website says $400 but you say you were charged $375). The actual saving is the same, as it depends on the number of vouchers, not the amounts, but you are spending more on vouchers to get them. However, Haven CruiseNext are a full deposit whereas you would have to make up the difference if you used standard vouchers to book a Haven room, so there is definitely an advantage to getting Haven ones, especially if you will be using them soon after purchasing.
