  1. Great that they have taken the action they promised.
  2. Pursuit has Sky News, Sky Sports News, BBC News, BBC compilation channel which shows a number of popular BBC programmes, MSNBC, Fox News, TV G (food channel), a couple of movie chanbels
  3. I'm on board too. We did have the pool open and self service food for a couple of days but then it was closed again because cases were rising. It seems to be quite a short lived illness, someone we know had it & was only ill for 24 hours or so so only confined to their cabin for 48 hours or so. You have to be symptom free for 24 hours to be allowed out.
  4. You're right that there will be no Azamazing evening (or Destination Celebration - same thing but onboard), however you will have a White Night. Although it's often held on a late night in a port, it can and is sometimes held at sea. You won't know when it's planned until you get onboard and even then it can change depending on the weather. You can't book a Chefs Table until you get onboard. Its certainly a good idea to book at least a few nights in the speciality restaurants as soon as you get on board - guest relations will tell you where the reservations table is on embarkation day, or you can ask your butler to book for you. We always book our choices on the first day as we usually only eat there a few times, so I don't know how easy it is to get your choice of time etc on an on-going basis.
  5. Yes they were fine in all the restaurants we used.
  6. I have to say that our Destination Celebration in Walvis Bay was terrific - it didn't lose anything by being on board. The quality of the choir, dancers & acapella group were amazing. On the other hand the last Azamazing evening we had was not so good because all it consisted of was queuing to get on buses to go to a marquee in a hotel grounds to see a show that could easily have been provided on board with no eternal queuing.
  7. One has been offered on Pursuit & we have booked it. Cost $30 pp
  8. No need to buy ahead, just make sure you go to the speciality reservations table fairly quickly after boarding - just ask anyone where it is.
  9. My husband uses his VPN account onboard all the time, not had a problem
  10. Stay in or close to the V & A Waterfront, it's great, very lively & lots of lovely restaurants. We stayed at The Commodore hotel which was good. We bought a 1day HOHO bus ticket which included Table Mountain. It was a long queue to get the cable car, but seats along most of it, fab views from the top. We also pre bought tickets to Robben Islsnd & it was cancelled the morning we were due to go & struggling to get the money back (done a chargeback on my credit card). Aquarium is very good. We made reservations for restaurants, all on the waterfront, glad we did on Saturday & Sunday, but maybe not needed in the week. Very cheap to eat & drink. First night we ate at Mozambik - very lively - a cocktail, a beer, a bottle of wine, 2 starters & 2 mains, all for less than £40. Other 2 nights - Karibu and Cape Town Fish Market - bit dearer but still under £60! All very good.
  11. Pursuit has now been declared 'healthy'. The pool is open and food is self service again.
  12. What time in the morning did it start?
  13. Thanks, no choice as it's the only CC Suite left that has the walk in shower.
  14. Anyone been in 8041 on Onward? Any comments? We have it booked for Bordeaux to Barcelona in September
  15. IMG_3214.mov IMG_3215.mov Last night was our Destination Celebation event on Pursuit at Walvis Bay, Namibia. It was one of the very best we have ever seen. They had a Marimba group playing as we entered the Cabaret Lounge, then we had 3 main acts. A superb choir called the Mascato Youth Choir, a traditional dance group and an all male acapella group called African Vocals. They were all wonderful and we preferred being able to see them on the ship instead of having to queue to get on a bus etc.
  16. No, we didn't see the ship come in, just saw her at the terminal.
  17. Did you have your fish & Chips at the Globe, we had it there a few years ago and it was great! Glad to hear you're having a great time.
  18. They don't ask to see your keycard any more, just check your room number. If you ask for a cocktail make sure you say 'using the included spirits/gin/vodka' etc
  19. Interesting that you were given the option to email, we weren't, just the number to call
  20. Depends what you like - spirits are fine for me
  21. Yes, we go up to Discoverer Plus at the end of this cruise and were able to book a cruise getting all the relevant discounts AND the 6 free nights. We've just had the emailed confirmation through and the price for a 13 night cruise is only just over half the promoted price
  22. Yes quite agree about What's App - very useful
  23. That's strange, we're on Pursuit were given the full list and we know that the wines in the Ultimate package are those listed on the menu as Wines By The Glass. We've had the champagne (Piper Heidseck), Whispering Angel and a very nice Albariño
  24. Cabin number: 7076 (Verandah) Ship: Pursuit Month/Year sailed: February 2024 Would you choose this cabin again: Yes Is noise and issue: no, despite it being opposite the laundry (but laundry not fully open) Balcony size: same as all verandah cabins Any other comments: nice location, close to lifts
