  1. We were on the Horizon, in January of this year, for a eight day cruise to the A,B,C islands and went to the MDR every night and YES, pretty much anything goes, dress code wise, except bathing suits, it didn’t matter if it was “formal night” or causal night. On the formal night we saw t-shirts, shorts and flip flops no one seemed to mind. Granted there were passengers that got dressed to the nines, basically it was everyone’s choice. Just because Carnival has a dress code for the MDR it is not enforced. Enjoy your cruise. 😁
  2. Blue card holders, AKA, first time cruisers, trying to drink their weight in booze. People suddenly stopping while in the buffet line or, turning around because they forgot something or heading back to their table with people walking behind them carrying their plates, I have seen people end up with food spilled on their backs. On CCL, they only have the very fancy desserts, cakes etc on the lunch buffet. People walking up the left side of a staircase, while people are coming down the same side of the staircases. Parents turning their young kids loose at the beginning of a cruise and not seeing them again until the cruise is over. Very annoying 😡 And the most disgusting thing of all is people wearing swimsuits that are waaaaaaaay too small for their bodies and that they are waaaaaaay too big and old to be wearing them. Think pickle slings and butt floss on grandparents, not a pretty sight. 🤮
  3. FYI everyone, In the past, October of 2022, I received the information from Princess about the shareholder cabin credit in an email, on October 4, after I emailed the request in, I hadn’t heard anything from Princess, so I checked my booking # and under the section about “payments and credits”, the stockholder credit was posted in my account under credits. Apparently Princess has changed their notification system so check your booking #, the SCC probably will just show up without any notice. Good luck and happy cruising. 😁
  4. Email address is…… sbpcl@princesscruises.com
  5. I know when I submitted my information by fax and by snail mail during the Covid shutdown in 2021and 2022, no one was going to the office to pickup the mail or faxes “according” to my PCVP. My PCVP tipped me off about emailing the information which worked best since the employees were working from home. We did go on a couple of cruises right after the shutdown ended. And we got our shareholder cabin credits. Bottom line is, emailing works best if you have the capability to do it. Everyone have a great weekend.😁
  6. Hi all, I emailed my required Stockholder Benefit information in on Wednesday October 4 at 11:10am ET, within 5 minutes I received the “standard” reply back from customer support that basically said thank you for submitting the application and our personnel are busy handling requests and we will get back to you within 21 days. I checked my booking status later, about 5 hours, in the day and found that the Stockholder Benefit was credited to my account. 😁 I have found that waiting until after 11:00am ET works best when submitting the information, because I think the Customer Support personnel show up to work at 8:00am PT, since they work in California.
  7. Hi all, In regard to bringing back wine back on board we always ask the ships security officer, the one that is usually standing near the exit from the ship where they scan your medallion, if we can bring back wine and have NEVER been turned down. We always tell the crew member that is running the X-ray machine that we have 2 bottles of wine in our backpack. FYI, we never take a bottle of wine to the dining room we just have a glass or two in our stateroom before we head to the dining room. 🍷🍷 We have never tried bringing back a bottle of hard stuff so I can’t comment on that process.
  8. We used the parking garage G during the week of July 8 while we were on an 8 day cruise on the Horizon. It cost $176 to park for 8 days. BTW, the Horizon docked at terminal F, which you pass on the way to the garage. You can see the garage from the terminal, it is on the left side of the road very easy walk from the garage to the terminal. We dropped our luggage off with the porters and DW stayed in the area while I parked the car. There are 3 levels of covered parking spaces with additional outside parking on the 4th and 5th levels. The elevators worked, we arrived at the port/parking garage at 11:00am. Very easy parking process.
  9. Hi all, To start this reply we are both Elite and have been for a number of years, and I use a PVP and have had the same one for a number of years. He told me that if I have a question/concern about an upcoming cruise and can’t reach him to call 1-800-901-1172, but to call AFTER 11:00am ET, he said do not put in his phone extension but just to hold on the line and the next available Support Team member will assist you. NOTE, You must have your booking number available. I had a question about our upcoming cruise and used the 800 number in April and got all my questions answered. 😁
  10. I was wondering how cruisers feel about stopping at Jamaica? The US State Department issued a level 3 out of 4 advisory on May 10 for Jamaica. Level 3 says to “reconsider your travel plans”. The issue is criminal activity in Jamaica and lack of police presence. Do you feel safe during the Jamaica stops? Any thoughts? Thanks
  11. We had booked a 14 day December 2023 Caribbean Princess cruise when were on a December 2022 cruise. The “only” thing we got was our FCD, of $100 each. I signed in to my Princess account, a couple of weeks ago and found the exact same 14 day cruise on the Caribbean Princess, and in addition to our FCD, we could get $300 cabin credit pp and the free cabin upgrade. So now, since I’m a stockholder we will now have $1050 cabin credit to spend. 😁😁😁 I called my PVCP and canceled our first cruise and rebooked the same cruise with all of the extra cabin credits. The secret seems to be signing into the Princess account. There is a price difference between signing in and not signing in.
  12. I emailed the requested information, to shareholders@carnival.com, on May 4th, @9:30am ET and received a response on May 6th, @1:29pm ET, that the stockholder credit was applied to my account. We are an 8 day, Southern Caribbean in July of this year. Apparently Carnival is getting very good at responding. Just be cautious that all the requested information is correct.
  13. Hi all, Did anyone have issues with embarkation/disembarkation due to the flooding in the Fort Lauderdale/Port Everglades area late last week? I know the Fort Lauderdale airport was closed for a couple of days due to the flooding.
  14. Does the Sky Princess still have a Elite and Platinum HH, usually from 4-7 every night, with inexpensive drinks and snacks? If they do where is it located? On some of the older ships the HH was on the top deck forward area of the ship usually in the lounge area that had the disco /DJ late night dance floor etc. The forward looking view was beautiful after a day of cruising. I know on the Enchanted it was on deck 7, in the Vista lounge, no view, just a room with a bar and a stage and not much atmosphere. thanks
  15. The internet on one device works for us. I use the internet sign-in, in the morning on the computers at the Internet cafe and then my wife uses the internet the rest of the day on her cell phone. No big deal. The price we pay for the internet, is fine for us since we use our shareholder benefit OBC money which is free money. 😁
  16. The “original” price was quoted at $280, by the internet manager on the ship, we got it for 50% or $140, in February of this year on the Enchanted, this was for 1 device, for elite/platinum.
  17. We were on the Enchanted in Feb of the year, a 14 day Caribbean, and purchased the internet package the first day on board, 1 device, $140, which 50% off for Elite, and on the standard Princess package used OBC plus we are stock holders with $250 cruise credit. Easy to do just go to the Internet cafe and get a computer and follow the steps.
  18. “According” to another cruise news website, Princess announced their 2023/2024 cruise schedule, BUT if you troll the Princess official website site you cannot find any cruises scheduled to go to the Caribbean after July of 2023. We live in Florida and enjoy cruising with Princess, easy access to the port and being Elite doesn’t hurt either. Almost all of the other major cruise lines have listed on their websites cruises for all of the rest of 2022, and then 2023 & 2024. We see tv ads from Princess to come cruise with them, but it seems silly that your Caribbean cruise schedule only goes out until July of next year. Any ideas?
