  1. That makes no sense. It's more important to be masked when sitting next to or in back or front of someone in a theatre for 45 minutes than when just walking by someone for a few seconds.
  2. Did you ever get a response using any of the email addresses provided in this thread. I am getting very frustrated trying to reach them by phone, with long holds & then the resulting hang up, leaving me hearing nothing but a dial tone.
  3. Speaking of Provisioning - somewhat humorous story. We were having breakfast on a Turnaround Day, and we were watching the trucks show up with provisions. One large truck pulled up, the driver got out, looked at the lock on the door of the truck, and looked & looked & looked. Went back into the cab, came out again. On phone, on phone some more. Others showing up with various tools trying to open the lock. No success. More phone calls. Quite some time later, a car speeds up next to the truck & some guy gets out with a large metal cutter & they manage to cut the lock. Huge truck - one small box! And someone forgot to bring a key.
  4. Crystal Symphony in Bermuda on one her last voyages. 😞
  5. We've decided to go elsewhere this Fall (US/Canada only) and probably do the Japan cruise in April 2023. Fingers crossed that all is back to normal (and the Cherry blossoms are in bloom)!
  6. You never know who is going to be on your cruise:

    Dining Hours?

I could have misspoken - there were 3 time slots, 7-8, 8-9, and I just assume the 3rd I saw was 6-7. COuld have been 9-10

    Dining Hours?

In making a Reservation for dining at Laa Terrazza on WHisper, the choices are 6-7, 7-8, or 8-9. Does that mean you have to show up at, let's say for the 7-8 at 7, and have to be out of there by 8? OR can you show up anytime between 7 and 8?
  9. They sort of DO look like they'reready to pounce - but they're fine (unless your car is parked under that tree!)
  10. Been a member of CC since like forever, and wasn't aware of this Photography forum. So I'll post a shot or two here once in a while. There is a tree right outside my door where Night Herons nest every year. This year there were about 10 different nests. An old-timer in the neighborhood told me they've been coming to that tree for at least 20 years. The babies are out & about, but still near the nest.
  11. VERY HELPFUL -Thank you! I believe you're the same guy I have followed on one of the Photography forums (Sony?)? I've marveled at your bird shots especially. I stopped following that forum a while back when I just got too busy (and too jealous 🙂 ) to continue. I also believe it was you that posted your settings for your bird shots? I have them programmed into my Sony 6500 (#1 for birds in trees, #2 in flight). Based on this, I think the 100-400 stays home. 70-300G for long shots. Not only will we be flying from FL to NY, but also then heading out on Long Island for a few days. I don't have a wide angle - may think about renting one. On other cruises, I've often wished I had a wider lens than the kit lens. Do you know much about the new Tamron 17-70 2.8? I'm thinking of that as a replacement for the Kit lens. After this Canada trip, have one to Japan next year (Hoping Japan will be open by then) I hope we are not too early for the best colors - leave NY Sept 19, return to NY Oct 10. Thanks again, Justin!
  12. ANyone who has done that itinerary in Sept-Oct, what lens(es) would be best to take? I have the "Kit" lens, a SOny 17-55. Debating whether to upgrade that to a G series lens (SOne Mirrorless). But then I can take either the 70 - 300, or the 100-400. The bigger lens is a pain to schlep around, but will there be much need that the 70-300 won't cover adequately? Thanks
  13. I haven't been able to find that. Can you let me know where they put that info? Thanks
  14. I cannot find anywhere on the SS website, nor on My SIlversea who the Enrichment speakers & Entertainers will be on our cruise in September. Is there a place where this shows? We're used to Crystal, where they posted the speakers, entertainers, officers, etc along with brief bios. Do they even bring outside performers on the ship, or rely solely on SS onboard performers? Are there lectures other than Port talks? Could someone post a few examples of daily activities, esp on Sea days. Thanks
  15. Is there somewhere where we can see which Airlines SS has contracts with? Mainly wondering about Delta.
  16. You are correct. This D2D nonsense is going to cost SS dearly.
  17. We recently tried Seabourn after being frequent Crystal cruisers. There was a lot to like about Seabourn, but we were very very unhappy about the way Seabourn dealt with Covid (e.g. stating all passengers would be tested, but then not testing, not informing guests when there was a breakout of Covid onboard....). Now seeing this thread, it reinforces our view that we won't be cruising Seabourn again. Reading that HAL is doing the same things points to the fact that this is all coming from Carnival (actually, one of the Seabourn Officers told us that). We won't be doing Carnival owned cruises (We've cancelled a crossing on CUnard). It's a shame - Seabourn could be a pretty good cruise if Carnival would get out of the way.
  18. I did, and my question was answered. But the answer was wrong. What they said would happen on the ship did not happen. And then my post-cruise comments & questions are being ignored.
  19. I've written Guest Services 3 times in the past 7 weeks, but there has not been any response. I did get a canned auto reply: "Thank you for contacting Seabourn. We have received your inquiry and sincerely appreciate the opportunity to deliver the highest quality service to you. Due to the large volume of emails we are receiving, it may take us longer than usual to respond. We are working hard to make sure every request is handled accurately and efficiently." I can understand taking a week or so to reply - but not over a month! Have they closed their Guest Relations Dept? Or is it just their policy to ignore customers' comments and inquiries?
  20. I really like the Muse itinerary for this Fall, getting to Japan Sept 18, 2022. BUT - Japan is closed, and is unlikely to be allowing cruise ship traffic by this September. Darn. I wonder why SS is still advertising this cruise? I've seen of other lines cancelling/rerouting cruises to Japan. HAL & Viking are still showing cruises there this Fall as well. What happens if japan does not open by then ?
