  1. I don’t know about Lactaid free ice cream, but they usually have at least one sorbet each day
  2. If you purchase any dining package, you cannot make any reservations before boarding. You will be “assigned” a time for the first day, but this is merely a placeholder as the system requires a reservation. As soon as you board, you’ll need to go to one of the specialty restaurants where the person at the door will be able to handle all your reservations. Depending on the passenger load, you might need to be a little flexible with the dates and times.
  3. The question that, if answered truthfully, could eliminate a number is being asked if during the past 14 days you are aware that you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive. The reality is most probably have been in contact with someone positive, but may not be aware of it. This question is why we will continue to “lay low” before our next cruise.
  4. Gelato is at an added cost. Ice cream is free (and very good) in the Oceanview Cafe; my DH prefers the ice cream to the gelato. I have never seen milkshakes on any Celebrity ship; I guess the closest would be a Virgin Mudslide . . .
  5. While you cannot see specialty restaurants prices in the app, if you log-in to your reservation on the website and go the the Cruise Planner, prices are there where you would make a reservation.
  6. If you are seeing the area on Deck 3 that says “Captain’s Club”, I believe this is simply the desk of the Captain’s Club Host/Hostess, not a venue. The Elite Breakfast is always provided in one of the specialty restaurants and, pre-Covid, the HH was in the Sky Lounge (on those ships with tat venue. Since restart, I don’t believe there has been a specific location, but rather the Elite HH drink menu is available at most of the bars during the same timeframe.
  7. While it is not necessary to make a reservation for select dining, if you would like to eat most nights at 6:00, you can make a reservation for that time.
  8. Only Solstice, Eclipse and Equinox have the hot glass classes. I am sorry I have no idea of classes that might be offered on Summit as it’s been several years since we sailed Summit. At that time, there were not any.
  9. You can submit a Special Needs Form and request an actual small medical refrigerator if it is needed.
  10. On the Apex last TA last fall, at embarkation there was a photographer at the APEX sign as you boarded. Also a couple of photographers were set up every evening, usually on Deck 4 or 5. However, they never approached us; if you wanted a photo, you stopped, if not there was no issue. As for ports, I honestly don’t remember; 3 of the 5 ports required a ship excursion to leave the ship so there was somewhat of a “process” to leave. That said,if I don’t remember them, they weren’t intrusive.
  11. As you probably recall, in Europe last summer Celebrity was testing passéngers at the cruise terminal before boarding. They did the same for all passengers boarding the TA in Barcelona. We had our boarding time, which appeared to be strictly enforced, went through one stage of check-in, sent to testing, got tested, then sent to a specific section of the terminal to wait for results. Once we had the results and had been given our green sticker, we boarded. All 1200 passengers were then tested after our 3 mainland Spanish ports on the sea day before arriving in the Canary Islands; you had to sign up for a time (this could be done by scanning a QR code in Celebrity Today or at a desk in the Guest Services lobby. Testing was done in the Meeting Place and was extremely organized since numbers for each time slot were limited. Same exact process for the last sea day before disembarking, except all 1100 crew were also tested that day. Again, very smooth.
  12. I am not certain of changes since last October. We were on the westbound TA on Apex last October. Testing was required and was done the day before arriving in FLL as we were arriving from Europe. For cruises starting the next week visiting the Caribbean there was no testing requirement. Again, no idea of changes since last October for cruises arriving from Europe.
