  1. There is a discussion somewhere in these boards of someone buying Vibe passes, and then having them revoked because some charter group paid to take over the whole Vibe for themselves. So it can happen.
  2. I thought your husband demanded civilization. 😉 And boy have they been wrong for these past few storms. At least they have been over here in New England, not sure about central NY.
  3. Another important lesson, for people who would like a vendor to listen to their complaints, keep the message simple and factual. Your review was both of those with no drama (e.g. how the limp shrimp ruined your whole cruise, yada yada yada.) You shared your observations in a reasonable, factual way and NCL read them and reacted.
  4. Very interesting that they sought you out. Did they speak to the quality of your steak? A filet should not be chewy if it is of good quality. My sense is they are no buying the same quality of meat that they used to. Wondering if they had anything to say about your steak.
  5. Do you understand that if you can not purchase them now, ahead of boarding, that means it is sold out? The only way you can buy a pass on board is if someone no shows or somehow manages to turn theirs in for a refund or something like that. Rare occurrence. You'll have to get to guest services ASAP and when they give you the bad news ask nicely to be put on a wait list. Maybe you'll get lucky
  6. The Seabreeze was a great ship, we were on her a couple times. Absolutely loved it, great staff, great food. Also was on the Oceanbreeze a couple times. Ahhh.. long for those days. It's been gone a long time now, so, you must have been just kids when you were on it?
  7. I'm an engineer, not a finance or business guy, so please be gentle with me if my questions/comments are off base. That last line doesn't sound good. But to better understand it, can you tell me for the cruise I've booked for next December, let's say I've given NCL $500 as a deposit, is the full value of my cruise in that "advance ticket sales balance," or just my $500 deposit? I'm assuming it's just the $500.
  8. Usually when steak is slathered with something, they are trying to hide something - like a lousy steak. Not saying that is the case in LeBistro, just saying if it's a good quality steak, it shouldn't need to be slathered with anything or have anything set on top of it. I thought it could be any one of many different fishes - never really know what you are getting when ordering "Chilean Sea Bass". Exactly aligned with NCLs core business model.
  9. You are in the same cabin right? Your bill is calculated for the cabin, so, the cabin has a $100 credit. When you get your massage, the cabin will be charged $X and your $100OBC will be applied towards the $X for the massage.
  10. For those who cruise in the Haven - is what the OP is seeking possible if they were in Haven and dined in the Haven dining room? @loveandcruises I "get" why you like that aspect of cruising. We do too. But, I have to say that when looking at the big picture of our cruise vacation, missing that feature has had negligible impact on our enjoyment of our cruise.
  11. That sounds like a throwdown challenge to the NCL demons! 🙂 🙂 Hope all goes well this morning. Enjoy your cruise. Looking forward to following along.
  12. THIS!!!! On our Nov 6 embarkation, there were no other restrooms (besides the two single holes) after security, we asked an NCL employee who said those were the only two. We also commented to a couple of others as we went back out of security to hit the pre-security restrooms. So, if there were other restrooms as Bird alluded to, no one was acknowledging them on Nov 6. Absolutely ridiculous that a terminal like that, with hundreds of people waiting, only has 2 restrooms.
  13. Communication? From NCL? Don't hold your breath. NCL is notoriously bad about communication. That's what they are selling now. Haven could have been booked for performers, organizers, etc long ago.
  14. No. you'd have to wait until you are onboard to use the OBC, and then you risk the excursion being sold out.
  15. This information is more damning for NCL. Don't they plan these port calls in advance? How can NCL not know that there would be congestion? Reminds me of the Amber Cove debacles in DR.
  16. I can't speak from experience on Breakaway. I can share that on Encore in November, another party asked for Fireball on embarkation afternoon. The Vibe bar didn't have any but they tracked down a bottle and before sailaway that group was enjoying their Fireball in the Vibe. Overall, it seemed like the Vibe bar was pretty well stocked. I'd expect that if it's on the ship, but not currently in Vibe, a pleasant request will get it brought up to the Vibe.
  17. Wow, you actually based your choice on a video from someone whose sole purpose in posting videos is to get clicks and followers? Interesting.
  18. If I had to guess, I'd say 6 is probably a low number for a situation with 4000 people in tight quarters. (Please don't ask me to support that statement in any way. I very clearly stated it was a guess)
  19. Feb 11-18 is not a primary break week. Some people just feel the need to do anything they can to deflect blame off of their favorite cruise line, so, they make stuff up.
  20. The week before Presidents Day is NOT "Midwinter Break for many many school districts-". But. let's pretend for a moment that it was - are you trying to tell us Bliss has been less crowded in the weeks leading up to that week? All reports I've seen indicate NCL ships are sailing full or darn close to it.
  21. Are you looking at the NCL website? If so, might want to try some of the big online travel agencys, you know the ones that claim CHEAP prices? They sometimes will show different inventory. Or, it could be simply close to being sold out.
  22. "seats together"? Typically, they don't book any seats at all, you get to do that at the mercy of the airline. As for the 1-day deviation, I've heard more stories of people thinking they requested the deviation but ultimately not getting it. Make sure you see something in writing about the deviation on your receipts/documents. If it's not in writing, the deviation isn't going to happen.
  23. thanks for clarifying - you had me a little bit scared.
  24. Which ship? FWIW, it appears no Viva sailings have Vibe available yet. I hope you are wrong. I hope they treat it more like an excursion and appreciate getting the money sooner rather than later.
  25. Did I say it was the passenger's responsibility? No, I did not. My comment was nothing more than an addition to @CruiseMH 's list. Do you disagree? Do you believe it is not important to have a properly trained crew? I know you are obsessed with this issue, but not everything said here in this thread is about you.
