  1. Good morning Dailyites. Warming to 78 and cloudy for Georgetown. Poor Oliver was sick during the night. He threw up a whole placker. For those who don't know, it is a curved plastic dental pick. I haven't been this scared in a long time. He's stuck like glue to me, and I'm watching him like a hawk. Meanwhile I have texted my game night girls and warned them AGAIN not to leave these sitting anywhere! I'm not going anywhere today! Prayers out to so many this morning. I added 2 more to my book. One friend visited her mom back east this week. On the 2nd day, her mom was admitted to the hospital and is now brain dead and moved to hospice. Major stroke. The other friend is very sick with lung issues due to the illness. It never stops. Remember I told you about the cement truck that hit the school bus head on last week carrying pre K kids to the zoo, killing 2 and many injured? Well, he admitted yesterday he had been smoking marijuana the night before, only got 3 hours sleep before work, and took cocaine to keep him awake. He needs to be hung by his heels. I never realized I was making a sub salad. I use these ingredients mostly in the summer. Thanks Deb for the recipe. I use the red wine vinegar dressing. Virtual vacation day is celebrated quite a but at our house! Always dreaming about a BHB. Have a great weekend. Blessings and friendship to all on our Daily!
  2. Good morning Dailyites Today will be busy. I was able to get the car washed and gassed, but the line waiting for oil change was too long. So I'll try this morning. My girlfriend is borrowing my rug cleaner and I'll take it over and get her started. We have girls game night so thought it would be fun to have crab legs at our hapoy hour, since crab is on sale this week. Prayers being said for our Dixie. So thankful nothing was broken. Prayers for Vanessa, Tana, Sandi's family members, my prayer book, and all others on our hearts. Prayers for our troops and innocents in our war torn world. Roy, thank you for the maps. I enjoy studying them. Thinking of those who celebrate Easter week. Our 2 churches in Sun City have given out white crosses posted in our yards. Sunday morning they will turn the cross around and it says "He is risen" Ok, raise your hand if you celebrate National Hot Tub Appreciation. Red Neck Bob: Wishing you a blessed day. Be kind. Call a lonely friend. Xx
  3. @summer slope Dixie! Oh wow. I'm thankful all the tests were ok. What a scary situation. We have a very large golf cart population here and we don't hear of many accidents, thank goodness! Be well.
  4. Good morning Dailyites I hope you are enjoying your hump day. Thanks to all who give their time and effort to making this the go to place! Vanessa, I pray your pain is better today. Thinking of Tana and all on our cares list. I had dreams last night of the bridge collapse. I watched it so many times on tv yesterday it just stuck in my head. Prayers for the 6 lost and their families. The prescription for Jardiance is on hold. Express Scripts wants to talk to the doctor before allowing the script to be filled, darn it. Allen's sodium is still low, so continue with the sodium tablets. Thank you @Niagarawine for thinking of us. Alaska sounds wonderful. It's been a few years since we went. Enjoy Mendenhall and take care! @Crazy For Cats I would not be happy getting split up. What's up with that! Today will be car wash, gas, and oil change. Dinner tonight will be chicken cacciatore which was going to be last night, but our friend brought over a pot of delicious black bean soup last night, still hot from the stove. Blessings to each of you today. Be kind.
  5. Good morning Dailyites from a 43 degree morning warming to 66. What tragic news for Baltimore. Praying everyone was found. Prayers lifted for so many the past few months. I'm worried about the hundreds of got-a-ways that came over our borders, whereabouts unknown. I think of the starving people of Gaza, people losing their homes due to casualties of war. I pray for my sweet husband and hope he's able to improve soon. He is also diabetic (2) and his numbers are high. We are trying a new routine with less fruit in the morning and more vegetables with a small protein. Hoping he's approved for Jardiance and he's able to improve. Hoping his lab results come through today. I mentioned I put a new patio table together this past week and it's much larger and sturdier. My girlfriend wanted the old table, so I strapped it on Elvis with bungee cords and drove it over to her house looking like Granny Clampett. Jacqui the pictures of Maverick are so sweet. Thankful he was a gentle giant for you. Today I want to go to the nursery. I noticed tomato plants out (this early!) I can baby them along before I put them in their summer pots. Our cilantro is growing like a weed. (Lol) Although Debbie's recipes for today look great, I am making chicken cacciatore with roasted Brussels sprouts for dinner. Thinking of all our friends here on the Daily. Have a blessed day!
  6. Allen's appt didn't go well. Sodium and vitamin D is very low. His A1C high. Starting Jardiance. No protein shakes or beef. Cut back on meat, lots of vegetables. Well, he loves his greens so will up them and have a tiny protein. Having lunch at our favorite place. Texas Red fish with salad and green beans. Thanks for your thoughts today.
  7. https://www.portcanaveral.com/Cruise/Directions-Parking Maybe helps?
  8. Good morning Dailyites from a stormy morning with thunder, hail, and I think I saw a few cats and dogs falling from the sky.. Did someone mention the Carnival Freedom fire? Today we go to a Nephrology appt for Allen. He had labs on Wednesday but results are not on my-chart yet. The clinic is 20 miles away and I hope the storm settles in the next few hours. I am on the fence with today's quote. A good attitude gets us through some hard times, but there are times a good attitude is not enough. Prayers said for our Daily-ites, friends and family. I found out we have 2 neighbors in hospital. One for a collapsed lung, and another with complications from her MS. No need Vanessa to add them to the care list. These wars, threats, bombings, innocents losing their lives and loved ones, it's heartbreaking. I had a dream last night that I was hiding in the dark with bombs going off around me. I'm sure the storm triggered it, but it felt very real to me when I awoke. Time to get moving. I wish you all the blessings this day holds. Wishing @cat shepard DSis a Happy Birthday. Go Tana on those steps!!
  9. @dfish Do you think if you explained to River another reason for the test is, if she spreads it to you or Sue, you could get very ill, or worse.
  10. Ok.. Good morning Dailyites again. Had to get that prayer request out. What a helluva day yesterday! Wish we could all have a do-over. Like Sandi said, the prayer lists are growing up, up, up. I was able to remove 2 people from my book, then added in Princess Catherine, the school bus accident, Moscow deaths.. prayers lifted for all on our Daily. @JazzyV I'm praying your upcoming surgery is successful. @cat shepard Ann, thinking of you and family getting sister settled. Thank heaven for caregivers! On a happier note, let's hug those kittens! Chips and dip: My absolute favorite is Grandma's clam dip. If today's weather holds, we will get to Farmer's market then to lunch. The recipes today sound great, and I'll keep one for a future dinner. Sending prayers and blessings and CHEERS to every person on our Daily. Have a wonderful weekend. Xx
  11. Good morning Dailyites Another prayer request. 44 pre K kids and 11 adults returning from a bus field trip to Bastrop zoo were struck head on by a cement truck, rolling it over. 1 child killed, an adult from a car at the scene. Police said the car was "pulverized"
  12. Well said Lenda. Such a lovely woman. In my prayer book.
  13. Good morning Dailyites from a foggy 55 degree morning. Waking up, promising myself to choose joy today. Goodness what a sad, messy, tragic world we live in for those suffering from homelessness, illness, loss of friends and family, wars.. the list just keeps growing. Prayers lifted for our Daily family. This morning we are expecting a check in call from the VA caregiver program. They ask if meds changed, any new falls or new diagnosis. Afterwards, we are going to go goof off. It's been a crummy week.. I still feel young. I'll be 70 this year, and still can't believe it! Hoping Sam continues to be pain free. Happy to hear Ann's sister is going home, and pray she works hard at her recovery. Jacqui and Vanessa wishing you pain free days. Blessings to our friends here!
  14. Today was a crappy day. From blood draw, THREE pokes, to waiting for over an hour for the dermatologist, who recommends seeing our primary MOHS surgeon due to too many lesions, moles, and eczema breakouts. She froze over a dozen precancerous lesions. Able to get an urgent appointment in 2 weeks. Please keep Allen in prayer.
  15. Sandi, I use Noodle and Boo laundry detergent. It's for babies, but is ultra stain cleaning and gentle. Our dermatologist recommends it. And smells so nice! (Amazon) For Allen's itchy miserable skin, she recommends Melkfett Ringelblume. A cream, also on Amazon.
  16. Good morning Dailyites from a 58 degree morning warming to 63 with rain. Oliver looked at me when I opened the door to let him out, then ran back to bed and snuggled with Allen. SRD (spoiled rotten dog) Today Allen has bloodwork for his appt at Nephrologist next week, then on we go to his skin check at the dermatologist. His eczema breakout is so painful, especially the tops of his feet. Vanessa, thanks for keeping Ron on the care list. He's struggling from Alzheimers and it's heartbreaking to see him. He is on his next round of chemo meds which makes him feel queasy, and another strong med to help with shoulder/back pain. He turned 81 Monday and said he should have given up the ghost 5 year's ago. If the weather isn't too crazy, we will go downtown for lunch. I miss the French onion soup at one of our favorite restaurants. Our group of friends are rounding up invites to a local winery where the eclipse should be awesome. Up on the hilltop overlooking the vineyards. We signed up, but it's going to be really crazy here with so many people flocking to Austin and vicinity to watch the total eclipse. Exciting! I would enjoy today's recipe. Thanks for posting Debbie. No to the drink and wine. I accept the big bang theory. I was so saddened to hear about the PA family. I read where the mom was burned trying to get to her kids, and one of the saved kid's has broken leg and bones. Heartfelt prayers lifted for so many suffering today. Tana, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Penny, and many more in my prayer book. Blessings to each of you this Thursday.
  17. Such devastating news. God bless this family and those who lost their home. The father of the kid's was only 27. Such a tragedy.
  18. Good morning Dailyites. Thank you to all who contribute. Know you are appreciated. It was a long night with DH tossing about. I have the makings for quiche tonight but it is not broccoli and cheddar. We will have a salad and French bread to go along with it. I'm thankful to read about yellow dog shirts. I never knew. My zodiac sign is Libra. Motto: I balance Wishing everyone a blessed day!
  19. On our last Rotterdam cruise (50+ days) Nov/Dec/Jan 2024 we called housekeeping. They brought 5 different pillows from flat to fluffy. I like very flat, DH very fluffy. Worked for us:)
  20. We've tried the bacon more than several times and didn't care for it. We asked for "really crispy" and it came looking like your picture. Please don't roast me!
  21. @YourWorldWithBill Welcome to the daily. We are just now celebrating 4 years together. My husband and I moved to Texas going on 4 years ago. We love it.
  22. Still Good morning Dailyites here. 59 currently at 11, warming to 63. I'm a happy person, don't need to act it. I recycle everything. I did not know Lenda can't recycle near her in Texas. We all have recycle bins here in Williamson county. We were not able to recycle glass when we lived in Coeur d'alene, but I paid a fee to a private company that recycled it. I really, truly would have loved to see Israel, but life got in the way. Have a awesome day!
