  1. Good morning Dailyites A few chores this morning got me late to posting. Prayers lifted for our Daily friends and family. So happy to see Vanessa on our celebration list! Happy Birthday @dfish have a safe journey. Last night was a lot of fun. So much food for game night. Ribs, potatoes/onions, German carrot salad... For celebration of Audubon, here is a great App for bird lovers: It's called "Merlin bird ID by Cornell lab". After you download the app, you can select "sound ID" the app listens to the bird, records the sound, and tells you what birds you're listening to, along with the picture of the bird. It also keeps the bird songs! Mine is normally the Northern Cardinal, dove, even a hummingbird a few nights ago visiting our feeder. The app identifies over 1200 species by sound. It's amazing! This afternoon is a drive to Austin for a VA appt. Then we will join friends for sushi. Thanks to our Food and beverage department for the recipes. Roy and Sandi, thanks for the Fleet report and maps. Wishing everyone a great, healthy, blessed weekend.
  2. Good morning Daily-ites Thinking of everyone recovering (and go girl Vanessa!) Hoping Chuck keep improving. I'm sorry Tana took another turn. I'm thankful you have family right now to help so you can catch a 2nd wind. This morning is bloodwork for sweet husband, then market. I'm serving ribs for girl's night. 😋 Thank you for thinking of Allen. It will take a few more days for his injection to kick in, but we are optimistic! Sending you each a special blessing and wishing you a wonderful day! ❤️
  3. So beautiful. You are an inspiration! I love the Paisley paintings too. But your true artistic work comes from the islands. Sis
  4. Oh Denise! Thank you so much for the sweet post! I keep thinking of you and David and missing our Maui time. Are you going to your CA home at Mother's Day? Did you finish your painting you were so inspired by? Hugs my dearest sister and a peck on the cheek for David.
  5. @Sharon in AZ Our dr showed us where the sites were for the shots. She said the best places are stomach and thigh and we do alternate. Thanks!!
  6. Vanessa SO HAPPY!! (This is a silent shout out) Keeping prayers going for no more pain! Go girl!
  7. Good morning Daily-ites from a warm morning of 69 heading to 83. @LambKnuckles we live in Georgetown. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful park outing yesterday. Hoping all goes well for our friends here post surgeries. Prayers lifted for each of you. I have added 2 more people to my prayer book, one in ICU with heart failure and another with a 2nd stroke. News flash! Allen's Dupixent arrived. Very thankful for our insurance as 2 shots are $4,910. It's administered every 2 weeks. Pedicures today with lunch after. I don't think salmon cakes are in our future.. @Nickelpenny love the top 12 states! Have a blessed day.
  8. Good morning Daily-ites 52° in Georgetown with a high of 73 and sunny. Graham @grapau27 heavenly birthday wishes for your dear mam. @1ANGELCAT I am sorry for your loss. @JazzyV Vanessa you are on our hearts today and we pray for a successful ending to your suffering. Bon Voyage to our Dixie @summer slope hope you have a wonderful cruise with family. Thank you all for your contributions to this thread. Prayers and blessings lifted to each of you.
  9. Good morning Dailyites from a 49 going to 66 and sunny day. Last night we had thunderstorms and wind but nothing earth shaking. Wow, I think the celebration list is longer than the cares list! Thank you Graham for Father David's message this morning. Wishing those setting sail today a hearty Bon Voyage, Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary going out to those celebrating today. AND so happy to read Tana was able to sit with the family at the dinner table! Sending a list of prayers to our Heavenly Father for those suffering. Vanessa you are on my mind and I continue prayers tomorrow's surgery relieves your pain. I remember kindergarten. Our school was very old and our classroom was on a second level. There was a slide attached to our room for fire purposes but we were able to slide down to the playground at recess. My friend brought over 2 sweet potato plants and I'll find a home for them this morning. Another friend brought a bouquet of flowers as a thanks for a little something I helped her with. I love our friends and I'm so blessed we moved to a wonderful neighborhood. Tonight's dinner is a mystery. We have leftover pork tenderloin but I don't feel like having it again. Maybe some field peas with ham and cornbread for Sweet hubby, and I'll have Navy bean soup. Or not.. Thanks to all for making our Daily a great place to gather. Sandi, Ann, Dixie, Debbie, Vanessa and Roy.. Have a wonderful day and a great week ahead. Praying for Vanessa on her surgery tomorrow!!
  10. Omg.. I hope I don't see you two on the 11 o'clock news! Behave yourselves!!
  11. @ger_77 Thank you for thinking of Allen. Poor guy is still waiting for Dupixent. It's currently sitting with the "specialist pharmacist" for drug interactions.
  12. Good morning Daily-ites from a gloomy 63, high of 66 day today. Expecting rain about 1. Not sure if we will make the Farmer's market today. Prayers said for our care list, Sandi's brother, the twins and friends, and my family and friends, soldiers, veterans and innocents caught in the middle of war. Vanessa I pray several times a day your surgery is successful. I do like a few extra crispy and hot fries, but nothing on them but salt. Never picked up any Chinese words unless it is food related. Today's food menu sounds great. I would give it a try, but I'm with Debbie, the Brussels sprouts should be air fried, fried, or baked crispy. Wishing you all a blessed day, and a safe and healthy weekend. 🙏
  13. Dutch cafe and Explorations Cafe for coffee in the Crow's Nest for a cost. And yes, room service coffee is in a carafe, but hit and miss on how hot it comes.
  14. @grapau27 Hugs to your sweet wife Pauline on her mam's Heavenly Birthday. I hope your Sarah is feeling better. Xx Also, I printed a copy of the poem you posted and gave it to my best friend. She lost her husband to covid 4 years ago.
  15. Good morning Dailyites from a cloudy 72 going to 84 degree day. Prayers, prayers, and more prayers for our friends, families, people of Israel, Ukraine, our military, veterans, and people suffering from the ongoing wars, starvation and deaths. Jacqui prayers for you girl to get the meds kicked in and get on that cruise! You've worked so hard on getting things together for it. Prayers lifted for Tana and family, Annie and Elizabeth. Our neighbor came back from a cruise and has Covid. Both she and her husband have had it multiple times. They are in their 80's. I called the garage door company back. I was not satisfied with the work done. $900+ and it sounds worse than it was before. They will be here between 5 and 7 tonight. I got my lawn fertilizer yesterday and finished the front yard. I'll get the back started today. We are expecting rain this week so I need to hustle. My great grandparents came through Ellis Island. I did alot of research trying to find traces of them from multiple sites. Goodness, do we have a neighbor this fits to a T: Definitely not having pie today. We will go downtown and probably eat at Grumpy George. It is a new British pub and we hear it's got great fish. Wishing you a blessed Wednesday. Be kind. Keep smiling. Use your blinkers.. blah, blah, blah...
  16. I'm getting ahead of myself. Many thanks to the Kroc foundation for the beautiful Kroc Center facility and Salvation Army church in Coeur d'alene. I spent many hour's in the gym. Thanks to Dixie, @summer slope for descriptions of drinks. I would like to try today’s drink even though I'm a wine drinkers. Tana and Terry are on my heart today and Vanessa, I hope your upcoming surgery is a grand success.
  17. Good morning Dailyites!! Prayers lifted this morning for a large number of family, friends, Dailyites and their families. My girlfriend tried to pick up a case of water Saturday and has been down with back pain. And it's our friend Ron's wife, the guy who has been struggling with issues and needs her to help him. I'm thankful every day for my health so I can be a good caregiver for my sweet DH. Sandi best wishes for Linda on her surgery today. One of my friends is a ASL interpreter. She's always talking in SL especially when she's excited and her hands go flying. Today's quote stinks. We haven't been to a McDonald's since we moved to Texas. Graham takes care of our share. This weekend I planted pots of ferns for the front entry and I had a pot left over and of course had to fill it with a pepper plant. I think a dahlia is croaking, so may be back to the nursery to try to find holy basil to replace it. Wishing you all a blessed week. Stay healthy. Be kind. Almost forgot! Welcome to our Daily @LambKnuckles I hope your appointment goes well and you are feeling better soon. Love and hugs to Bruno.
  18. Bruno, I am sorry for the loss of your dear dad. I remember your posts of happier times on board ships and will think of the best of times. God bless.
  19. Well, I wasn't finished! Jeez Last night we had a huge taco truck feast. The pulled pork carnitas were outta this world, black beans, cilantro rice, 3 salsas, and all the fixings. I had seconds as did the girls. Tonight's dinner is TBD. Since it looks like a beautiful day, we may go downtown for lunch. I came in 3rd on our card game. Boo.. Our friend Ron who has multiple issues, was diagnosed Tuesday for colitis. This poor man can't catch a break. I received our water fountain yesterday and will hook up the pump this morning and get it going. I'll post a picture later. Wishing everyone a peaceful, lovely day. Enjoy your weekend. Blessings to you all.
  20. Good morning Dailyites from a calm cool 48 degree morning warming to 82. Thinking of all our Daily friends and family this morning. Hoping Tana, Terry, and Vanessa got some sleep. A prayer for Sandi the doctor gets to the bottom of your cough. I'm sure Red Neck Bob will have an opinion on big wind day..
  21. @Haljo1935 Happy Birthday to your dear husband! Joy
  22. Good morning Dailyites from a 53 degree morning warming to 78 and sunshine. What a difference a day makes! Although it was gusty yesterday, Oliver still wanted his rides on Elvis. He knows when it's time to ride when I give Allen his bowl of fruit. Oliver helping me make the bed: Mom, is it time to ride? I love the song Louie Louie maybe due to the fun memories. I am always cleaning out the pantry. I'm kinda anal about it. I don't keep much canned food, but my game night girls are always bringing "carbs" chips, pita chips, cheetos, pretzels... I have a dedicated shelf called the carb shelf and that's where all the junk food goes. Last night I invited my girlfriend to join us for dinner. I ordered 3 pounds of crab legs and a beautiful prime ribeye with a salad and smashed potatoes. No worries about any leftovers! Tonight is girls game night and we're having "Taco truck" I'll need an extra lap or more around the block tomorrow! Lifting prayers to our friends here. Thankful Tana had a little breathing break. Terry, you are an amazing person. God bless ya'll and have an awesome day!
  23. Good morning Dailyites from a soggy Georgetown. Wow did we have a major storm last night. Blew 2 heavy pots off from the patio, and the hummingbird feeders were against the fence this morning. It's gloomy and windy. Prayers lifted for all on our growing lists. Our dear friend who has had double pneumonia and covid the past few weeks is now healed and trying to recover her strength. Vanessa, please remove Ron from the cares list, he has a long, winding road ahead of him. Prayers for our innocents caught in war, our veterans and soldiers, the hostages caught in the middle of a crazy world. I do like cabbage rolls, but found an easy, yummy cabbage roll soup we like better. I just may make that today and have French bread along side. I love farm animals. My dad volunteered at a farm in the winter and we got to go along and play in the barn. I have 1 sibling sister, but have some precious friends I call my sisters. Hi Denise!! @DeeniEncinitas!! I had a brother who died in a motorcycle accident 41 years ago. Wishing all of our friends here on the Daily a blessed day. Know you are loved. Be kind!
