  1. Good morning Dailyites from a 60 degree morning with showers possible. What a gully washer it was during the night! Lightning and big booms of thunder, sending poor Oliver under the blankets and holding onto me for dear life. And I noticed about 7:15 our sprinklers going off, so ran and turned them off, forgetting Sunday was our 1 watering day. And a happy St Patrick's day to all celebrating. Sending Bon Voyage, Happy Birthday, and Happy Anniversary greetings to our Daily friends. I fell asleep last night before I finished my prayers, and woke up this morning knowing exactly where I left off. Repeated prayers for our friends here, and our loved ones. I hope Tana has a better day coping with her oxygen. Debbie, I love Guinness stew! We aren't crazy about corned beef, but I make the stew even out of season. Creamy and delicious! Wishing all a blessed day. Know you are loved.
  2. It's friends like you who remind us how grateful and blessed we are. I'm so sorry we always missed our timing window at the Barefoot Bar. We walked by your house 100 times! You never step out of line! Thank you for your sweet, kind words. Hope to hear more from you, but I know you are keeping in touch. Love to you, sister. Give a hug to Paisley!
  3. @grapau27 and @dfish.. Graham and Debbie I grew up in a dysfunctional family. My mother went to parts unknown when I was 15. My dad remarried 8 months later. I couldn't live in the environment. Abuse, groundings, my stepmother had serious issues. I moved in with a family that charged little rent and I had 2 good jobs. I graduated and got a great job at Bank Americard in Chicago, and year's later working for Hughes Helicopters, McDonnell Douglas, Boeing. I look back on those years now and I'm pretty proud of myself. I wish I had a Graham/Pauline, Debbie/Sue to get me through the tough times. God bless all who have stepped forward.
  4. Beautiful child! God has blessed us with her progression.
  5. That is very thoughtful Graham. I wondered how Pauline and your Sarah were holding up, and you 3 are in my prayers.
  6. Good morning Dailyites from a cool windy 60 with chance of showers. Sure hoping we get some rain soon. Wow! Look at the celebration list! Congratulations to all! I remember when Rich suggested adding more stuff to the Fleet Report. It was during the Covid outbreak when some if us (Roy, Denise, myself) were getting kicked off ships. It helped a lot getting us through the dark times. Thank you Rich and all who contribute! You are appreciated! Prayers are said throughout the day, gosh.. what crazy, changing, challenging times. I just made a chicken tortilla soup last night, so will save Debbie's recipes for another day. If the weather holds, we will go to Farmer's market and lunch. I have leftover soup, salad, and crusty bread for dinner. Blessings to each of you. Have a safe, healthy, happy weekend.
  7. @GTVCRUISER for the love of the Irish, please use Patrick or Paddy. Not "Patty" I think @VMax1700 is drowning in a pint at his local pub!! Lol
  8. Good morning Dailyites My prayer list keeps growing. We have a friend with Covid, a neighbor whose husband passed away yesterday after a long illness, friends who wanted to add insulation to their attic found broken, rotted, beams and a lot of water damage. Allen's body scan was canceled again, and got an email yesterday that our doctor left the practice. A new doctor wants to see him before he continues any more Dupixent shots for his eczema, so he's left with new breakouts again. And last added but not serious, our girlfriend driving home got caught in the rainstorms and she got a flat tire on the freeway. Continuing on, prayers for our lovely friends here on the Daily, their families and friends. Bon Voyage @Lady Hudson We will have a quiet weekend. Just a few minor chores, and a patio table to assemble. Well! There's 2 bucks behind our fence that just tipped our bird feeders, chomping away, after Oliver and I just filled them. There's baby bunnies eating strawberries in our yard. It looks like 3 strawberries are enough to fill their tummies as they leave the 4th strawberry behind. Prepping for our Daily Anniversary tomorrow. Thank you Ann @cat shepard for the reminder! Blessings to you. Have a great weekend! Xx
  9. Love the painting as I do all of yours. Miss you a bunch. I'm kinda homesick for Maui.
  10. Oh Dixie, sorry to hear. Hoping all goes well at your appt!
  11. Well... shoot. Just got a call from Allen's nephrologist about his bloodwork. His sodium is very low and a prescription is already available at the pharmacy. He's to take 1 mg sodium tab twice daily. If he shows signs of confusion etc to go to ER. Poor guy can't catch a break.
  12. Good morning Daily-ites from a cloudy 67, warming to 81. Yesterday was productive, I was able to pot 4 plants. I'll pot the cilantro and a desert cactus today. Last night our friend brought 3 different kinds of tamales from our Sun City Farmer's market, so that was dinner. Allen's body scan at Dermatologist was canceled again. He needs that shot for his eczema and I told the receptionist he can't wait for next month. They are supposed to call back today. Urg. Our friend Ron has his PET scan today. Please say a prayer for him. Prayers are being lifted in all different directions today. Sending each of you a blessing. I want to go across town today, as there's a few shops I'd like to stop at. And since we're so close to Fish City... Fill your stapler day? Well, OK.. I will certainly celebrate our K9 veterans. They have vital rolls. And to our sweet friend Pauline: Wishing you the happiest of birthdays today!
  13. So adorable! I miss your posts and updates. Especially your paintings. Love to you, David and family! I miss our Barefoot Bar...
  14. We took the 35 day on Koningsdam last Feb/March and we are looking at booking this next year. We have an adorable rescue baby now, so we need to check with his nanny.
  15. Beautiful couple! We were luckily able to sell our Westin Kaanapali timeshare. Decided for less money, we could book the Hawaii/Tahiti cruise.
  16. Denise! My beautiful, adorable, sweet sister! Love and miss you terribly!
  17. Good morning Daily-ites. I have a lot to catch up on! Prayers going out to all on our prayer requests. Graham I feel so bad for you, Sarah, and Pauline. You wrote the card with kind intentions, as a good Christian would. Sarah's mother had a chance to be thankful for the sympathy but chose not to. Forgive her and move on with your happy life. Wishing happiest of birthdays to celebrate today, and Lenda, happy belated birthday. I'm sorry for the kitty passing away and the kind gesture of the sitter with burial and "head stone" Nothing exciting happening here today. Laundry, breaking down boxes, making dinner.. Wishing everyone a blessed Tuesday!
  18. Good morning Dailyites from a cloudy 50 degrees warming to 73. Happy Birthday Dear Sue! Have a great time with your sister's tonight! Sandi, praying for your family and thankful Morgan has a safe place to live. Vanessa you are awesome keeping up with the cares, celebrations, cruisers! Thank you so much. Prayers lifted for each and everyone on our Daily! Yesterday, I took the next 100 pounds of soil/compost and filled the balance of my pots. The herbs did not come in, so going to try again this morning. I keep my eye on the weekly weather too. Today we are meeting the Cav guys and wives at Louisiana Longhorn Cafe in Round Rock. Looking forward to some cajun cuisine. Take care, blessings to all, have a great week!
  19. Yes. Rotterdam had diet tonic water Dec/Jan.
  20. Good morning Dailyites. A clear morning of 41 warming to 60 today. Thankfully we heard from Jacqui. My heart skipped a beat when I saw Roy posting the Daily. Thank you Roy! Prayers lifted for all on Vanessa's, Sandi's, and my prayer list. I'm happy to see Graham posting. Hoping Pauline and Sarah are doing ok. Ann I hope your sister has smooth sailing in rehab. Allen's bloodwork numbers did not come out well. His A1C is really high, his sodium dipped to 124, I'm sure we will be hearing from the doctor tomorrow. Vanessa you can remove him from the care list. His pain level on his neck is better this morning. Again Debbie, I love the soup recipes and will copy them for future dinners. I like today's quote. I don't care one way or another about Daylight savings time, but getting all the clocks down and changed makes me nut up. I usually change their batteries every year in the fall. We have 10 clocks plus the car clock. Wishing all a blessed Sunday. Have a wonderful, safe, healthy, happy week!
  21. @grapau27 I am praying heartedly for Sarah, you and Pauline. I read a thread of yours years ago where Sarah's family looked away from helping yourselves to Pauline's mam welfare. It hurts. I am in a familiar situation with my sister. So I understand you and family are trying to heal.
