We also are looking at a cruise that disembarks in Venice in a year from now. Hoping to spend three or four nights in Venice at the conclusion of the cruise. Can anyone recommend an hotel in a location convenient to the must see places in Venice. A boutique hotel would be quite acceptable. Any and all information would be appreciated.

Hi Boblerm, We very much enjoyed your initial commentary on the Grandeur. Your suggestions on all the various aspects of the ship will certainly come in handy. We are considering this same itinerary of New York to Montreal, and since you did such a great job on the ship, we are wondering whether you might have the time to critique the ports of call. I am sure those interested in the cruise would be most appreciative. Your discussion of tours you took, highlights not to be missed, and any general comments on the excursions would be most helpful.

Can anyone suggest a restaurant near the Fairmont Hotel that is not to be missed while in Singapore?

We will be going on the Explorer early February Singapore to Hong Kong. We are taking Regents four day pre-cruise tour of Singapore, and would love to hear pros and cons from anyone who has had the experience. Did you use all of Regent's Guides, or did you book any private guides, and if so where did you go? All general comments would be appreciated including hotel used by Regent, restaurants at hotel or nearby not to be missed, places you would go back to. Would like contacts to private guides you might suggest.

Hi again PaulMCO, I researched one of your day" tours by locals" to the gardens ,fish market, and Asakusa. It looks like a lot of fun. I have a few questions. Did you include lunch in the tour, and if so how long should I book the tour guide for. Also by any chance do you recall the tour guides name because when I go to the website they show me 64 faces and biographies. How to pick one? WE will be on the pre-cruise Tokyo this October before boarding the Explorer, and would appreciate any and all advice. Anyone else that has gone this route please join the conversation.

Hi PaulMCO, In your comments about private tours in Tokyo you mention some better restaurants in the Hilton Basement and in the nearby area. Could you, or anyone that has stayed at the Hilton, recommend specific restaurants you enjoyed. We would appreciate your input.

How important is it to register in advance of travel to japan on their web page? Can it be done on arrival at the airport? Can you register once for husband and wife or does it have to be individual?

Hi Symmes99, After reading your Post we would very much appreciate a direct contact for Makayla. We would also love to hear all about your fabulous night tour. What time and where did you meet, what did you do and see, and did you stop for dinner or have it before you left on tour. This probably would be the tour we are most interested in.

We will be doing a four day pre-tour of Tokyo in October before boarding Explorer. We will have afternoon and evenings on our own. Can anyone give us the name and contact information for someone to show us night time Tokyo with or without eating tour. If you have done such a tour please discuss what should not be missed. Should be staying at the Hilton and be back touring by 1-2 PM. Your recommendations for the rest of the afternoon and evening would be appreciated. Would need English speaking guide with experience.

To those that got their QR Codes in advance, How long in advance of flying can you apply for the Code? How difficult to get the code, and how costly? Mrlevin, How did you get through immigration and customs without QR codes in advance?

Many thanks PaulaJK for the information. Has anyone been able to take a taxi from the Venice cruise terminal to Marco Polo. Has anyone arranged for a car service from the, I assume the venice cruise terminal, to the airport? Looks like a tough question to get answered.

We will be disembarking in Fusina on a future cruise Athens to Venice and have a few questions for someone who has had this experience. What is the nearest airport to fly back to the U.S.? Fastest way, and how long to get to the airport? Approximate cost of transport if known? Can someone recommend a reliable car service, or is it best to use Regent Transport this time. Any and all comments about this experience would be appreciated.

We will be boarding the Grandeur in a few weeks. Hoping someone can spell out the steps involved in connecting our i-phone to the ships wi-fi so as to avoid high charges from Verizon. If I remember correctly in the past the first step was to turn on airplane mode. Would appreciate all following steps to be automatically connected when returning from excursions.

I think they need the category of cabin to answer your question. On the Explorer and Splendor Categories on those ships the connecting door is in the entrance foyer. I would assume on the Grandeur it would be the same in the corresponding category.

Hi Portolan, I am familiar with booking an excursion on line when they open for booking. Can you please explain how one books on line two excursions, one for the day and one for the night, on an overnight stop over. Does the web sight allow you to book two excursions for the same day for two persons, or do you have to call Regent to accomplish this. Your expertise would be appreciated.

Hi briar14, Seems to me you should not be hearing voices in any part of the suite. As a light sleeper I would like to hear comments from others regarding noise coming through the walls in the bedroom.
