  1. Rotterdam may be slightly different. Lifeboat mounts have been modified somewhat to allow transits of the Panama Canal which MAY have slightly narrowed certain points next to the lifeboats. I think we would have heard a lot if there was a big difference and I've been looking but not seen anything. I have done mass group walks on both Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam with no issues completing the walk. Roy
  2. Sometimes the sun really tries to play hide and seek and this one is very much a case in point. It's from a 2012 Crystal Symphony transatlantic and September 10 was a sea day between Dover and Reykjavik: Roy

  4. Most of that ceremony was actually shown live on our 5AM news today. Roy
  5. Thank you for the Saturday report Rich. An interesting collection of days. I had a small sewing machine many years ago and we swap a lot of ideas here. 6. I THINK full transits are Enhanced and Caribbean-Gatun-Caribbean trips are regular. I don't understand why but that appears to be the case. It looks like the list only goes up to EARLY January, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are further changes to the protocols. Roy
  7. A little bet better than it was when I looked before. Roy
  8. I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise. It's from my 2016 Crystal Serenity Northwest Passage voyage. On September 9 we visited Nuuk, Greenland: Roy

  10. @grapau27 what percentage of the passengers on your ship would you guess are British? Roy
  11. Thank you for the TGIF report ending this sad week, Rich. I'll salute all the days but I'm probably far too addicted to sudokus. I love the quote but have no idea what the meal is. Unfortunately, I have never been to Crete. 12. A sad day indeed. I was 8 when Her Majesty was crowned. It's a bit of a fuzzy memory; I feel like I saw it on TV but we did not have one until I was 10 so it isn't a perfect memory. There's an old tag line :"I saw it on the Radio" and that may be what happened although I had one neighbor who had a TV so I may have seen part of it there. Roy
  13. I'm thinking the first week of October for my November 9 Eurodam cruise. Roy
  14. Today's sunrise is from a 2010 Alaska cruise on Cruise West's Spirit of Columbia (I think their final cruise), On September 8 we visited Petersburg: Roy

  16. Thank you for the Thursday Daily & Fleet Report, Rich. I love all 3 of the days but especially a day for literacy. I love the quote but will pass on the meal. Sadly, I have never been to the Philippines. 17. You learn something every day. In my many years in the Fire Department I was always taught "there are no stupid questions, only stupid mistakes". The question made sense from someone who had been truly out of the loop for the last years and not known what the Volendam was doing. For someone who KNEW the Volendam was housing refugees and not sailed in 2 years and asking for an opinion on the ship from recent passengers has finally convinced me there IS such a thing as a stupid question. Roy
  18. Check the lot number on the test. Most of the expiration dates on the boxes are based on what is known about the test stability when produced and as data emerges the expiration date is extended, I think mostly now by 6 months. Roy
  19. I'll bet those on her have found her absolutely delightful, even if they are a bit homesick. Roy
  20. Oops. I have you correctly on my upcoming celebrations list but messed up on the current celebrations. Roy
