  1. @grapau27 that pastry or whatever it was on the dashboard seemed a bit incongrous to me almost to the point of a chuckle but not quite. I think the time difference between us added some to the surprise I saw. Roy
  2. My Helsinki photos will not exactly be Helsinki. I visited twice, 2003 on a round the world attempt I put together and again in 2015. The 2003 trip was quite a complex conjunction of disparate segments, Amtrak Baltimore to Montreal, a freighter to Belgium, and train and ferry connections to Helsinki, then train connections to St Petersburg, Moscow, and Beijing, Crystal Harmony to Vancouver, and VIA/Amtrak back home. The final completed water segment was a ferry from Stockholm, and then mid trans-Siberian got word that the Cruise from Beijing to Vancouver had been cancelled due to SARS. My visit on the Prinsendam became something of a flash back to that trip. While on deck I got a very nice view of the ship that had carried me to Helsinki 12 years early, the Viking Line's Gabriella. While on the ship I never got much of a view of it: A couple files from the Gabriella as well. First, my cabin: While I had a window, the view from that window was not much: Ro7
  3. Thank you. I hadn't realized you were on the Zaandam. Enjoy the Amazon. Roy
  4. The doctor was mostly a non-event, but things return to my regular oncologist with labs next Monday and a visit March 4. He does think there will be some additional PET/CAT scans in the not too distant future if my PSA continues to rise. Roy
  5. One more sunset, this time from my 2016 Crystal Symphony Antarctica cruise from Buenos Aires to Miami. February 22 was a sea day from Salavery to Guayquil: Roy

  7. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Laura, and Dixie. Welcome home Tina. Wishing Vanessa a successful procedure and happy to hear from Ann and Chuck. I like the days although 2Twenty2 day was at it's best 2 years ago. Two interesting quotes today. I visited Helsinki in 2003 and 2015. Three great days in history although the consequences for Galileo were unfortunate. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad, Turkey Roast With Giblet Gravy and Cranberry, and NSA Strawberry Ice Cream as served on MS Koningsdam February 22, 2017. I see the radiation oncologist today for what will probably be the last time for a while, a followup to my series of treatments. I do not expect to learn much from it. I slept well last night but am still fighting drowsiness this morning. Roy
  8. Thank you @StLouisCruisers for the update on @marshhawk and @catmando, Roy
  9. I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise. It's from my 2022 cruise on Enchantment of the Seas out of Baltimore. On February 21 we visited Nassau: Roy

  11. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Dixie, Debbie, and Laura for the Hump Day Daily. I'll celebrate (vicariously) Mother Language Day and pass on the other two days. I think most bathroom scales now do automatic zeroing. I have not been to Penang. I will definitely celebrate the first locomotive. I won't come anywhere near cooking the meal. My alternative (which I enjoyed but won't be cooking) is Classic Caesar Salad, Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus, and Mango Blueberry Crisp as served on MS Prinsendam February 21, 2019. A cold morning but it should get nice later in the day. Did not sleep well last night. Great until 2AM but then got a nosebleed that did not really allow me to sleep until I got out of bed. Roy
  12. Welcome to the fleet report and daily. I've found cc emails a bit wonky but I've been using a new way of keeping up with my followed content, with this link: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/discover/623 Roy
  13. Debbie, your day gives a whole new meaning to "Welcome Home" Ouch! Roy
  14. I THINK you can also go out at the bow from the front of the fitness center. Roy
  15. A subdued sunrise from my 2018 Crystal Symphony cruise from Buenos Aires to Miami. On February 20 Symphony was in the middle of a 2-day call in Lima/Callao: Roy

  17. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Eva, Dixie, and Laura. Bon Voyage @USN59-79. Safe travels Tina @0106. Unfortunately, you may be coming home to rain Thursday and Friday.. While I love cherry pie I don't expect to have any, won't shout Hoodie Hoo but will welcome spring. I've done quite a bit of culling my bookcases over the years. I don't think I really understand the quote. A number of great days in history, especially the one in 1962. I have been to Lahaina twice, Crystal Symphony in 2010 and Crystal Serenity in 2018. Not convinced about the meal. My alternative is Classic Caesar Salak, Broiled New York Strip Loin, and Peach Crisp as served on MS Koningsdam February 20. 2017: Roy
  18. Today's maps: Almost got a satisfactory result with just one map today. Roy
  19. I agree. The posts with Reflections and menus are both obvious what they are and so easy to scroll past taking up an absolute minimum of space unless specifically opened. Thank you so much @seasack. Roy
  20. Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Crystal World Cruise. February 19 was a sea day on Crystal Symphony from Sydney to Milford Sound: Roy
