  1. Today's sunrise is an oldie. It's from a Uniworld Nile River Cruise in 2009. On February 25 we were on MV Prince Abbas cruising Lake Nassar above the Aswan Dam: Roy

  3. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann/Laura, Dixie, and Graham for the Sunday reports and sermon. Bon Voyage, @Lady Hudson. I try to eat right but don't always succeed, and will pass on the other two days. I think I need a bit more coffee before I'm anywhere near ready to comprehend the quote. I visited Jakarta just once, in 2014, on Crystal Serenity. I am very thankful for the convenience of paper money. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Lido Salad, Chicken and Ranch Fries, and Peach Crisp. as served on MS Prinsendam February 25 2019 in Prinsendam's Lido. I chose the lido that day to be on deck for our sailaway from Rio de Janeiro: Roy
  4. A while ago. Could it be Royal Viking? Roy
  5. That's all for me today. Thanks Leanne, Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  6. So sad. May Bob rest in Peace and may healing come to the family. Wishing a positive turn for @marshhawk and @catmandoo as well. Roy
  7. Today's sunrise is from my 2017 Caribbean cruise on MS Koningsdam. On February 25 Koningsdam visited Bonaire: This was a bit of a "throw-away" cruise, getting me out of the northeast before flying to Buenos to board Ctystal Serenity. I really wanted the cruise but especially wanted not to miss a World Cruise segment. Roy

  9. Welcome to the Fleet Report and Daily, neighbor. Roy
  10. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Laura, and Dixie for your contributions today. I am thinking @Cruzin Terri and @seagarsmoker may have a mini-celebration today with primaries and a reduction of political ads for a while. I will pass on today's days but celebrate the Gregoriian Calendar. Bon Voyage @Cruise Suzy. Welcome back @cat shepard (hopefully home soon), @ottahand7 (have a great road trip), and @MISTER 67. I definitely like the quote. The meal sounds nice. My alternative is Chilled Sour Cherry Soup, Spaghetti Americiana, and Rhubarb Crisp as served on MS Koningsdam February 24, 2017: Men's breakfast in about a half hour (on Zoom) and then time at the fire house this afternoon. Roy
  11. Having sailed Wind Star and Wind Surf I wish you the fabulous time I am confident you will have. Bon Voyage! Roy
  12. There is a bar code at one end of the card. If you use the sleeve it would block the bar code but if you left the bar code near the open end you could in many cases just push it up enough to show the bar code without needing to take it out. I suspect some people have scanners with them while others may need to take the card back to their central location. Roy
  13. Not sure if the answers are right for the Nieuw Statendam. The Pinnacle Class ships (Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam, and Rotterdam) do not have a magnetic strip, but have a chip and a bar code, and usually just getting the card near either a bar code reader or a chip scanner should be sufficient. The phone should not de-activate the chip but I'm not sure if it would really work right next to the phone, and I think the card is usually collected when you order a drink although I'm not sure of that. I think it could be worth an experiment but it's probably not a great idea to keep it there most of the time. You will also need some kind of a card for a slot by the door to keep the lights and power on in your room. Could be an old credit card or even an old medical appointment card but you will need something ready for that. Roy
  14. Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Crystal World Cruise. On February 23 Crystal Symphony visited Dunedin (Port Chalmers) New Zealand. Roy

  16. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Laura, and Dixie for the TGIF report. I never really understood curling although some of my aunts and uncles in the Montreal area were avid curlers. Diesels are especially important on ships and fantastic progress has been made in cleaning them up. Every day should be Stand Up to Bullies Day, whether in person, cyber, or international. Interesting comment by Covey. Three interesting dates in history but I will especially celebrate the Panama Canal. I have not sailed to Kona but visited way back on a 1992 land trip. Oatmeal cookies are great although I prefer Oatmeal Raisin. My alternative menu suggestion is Cucumber, Radish, and Mixed Green Salad, Quince Glazed Pork Chop, and Pear Frangiapone Tart as served on MS Prinsendam February 23, 2019 and I would probably go up to the Lido for an Oatmeal Raisin cookie after dinner: Happy Birthday @Mr. Boston DH. Roy
  17. Wishing @lindaler a great birthday and hoping she's all right. She has not posted since mid-December. Roy
