  1. Just pointing out there is a difference between a tail and a whole Maine lobster.
  2. Maybe. But by waiting you will probably be limited in what cabins are available.
  3. Yes, customs and immigration are too different animals. I know that here on the northern border if someone attempts entry whose immigration status is questionable the agents at the port of entry have to call someone with the expertise necessary to sort things out.
  4. A 3 to 4 ounce lobster tail is a taste and if that's all I'm eating I could put a few away. They are only ok to me, because I live in New England so I'm spoiled by Maine lobster.
  5. I haven't read the replies but here goes anyway. If I were your friend I wouldn't want to leave the US until my status was finalized. It's just not worth the potential hassle. If you want to take them to a warm place consider flying to one of the US territories. If you just want to be on a ship a Mississippi River cruise. Or just take them some place in the US so they can learn about their new home, there are hundreds of interesting places to see.
  6. I can understand how you feel but at the same time I think you are tilting at windmills. This is a minor crime that won't result in police actually doing anything and the person that did this is unlikely to learn anything at all. If it were me I would just let it go because any result achieved is not going to be worth the effort.
  7. Many live to eat, some eat to live. There is a difference.
  8. Probably a matter of finding a supplier with acceptable pricing. In other words, Carnival could have all of the bacon they want if they don't care what they pay. I know that there are some people who would be willing to pay more in fare in order to have bacon, but I'm not one of them. We had bacon for dinner- from a pig that we purchased from a local farm and processed by a local meat processor. All other bacon is good of course, but it isn't as good as what we normally eat.
  9. They used to have door hangers but now I believe you have to call. We haven't had to order breakfast room service lately.
  10. Government agencies might but I seriously doubt that the cruise lines do.
  11. Even if it wasn't heavy handed it was damaging to the hospitality industry as a whole.
  12. They won't open them all since you won't be drinking them all at once. (I suppose they would if you asked, like if you bought the bucket as a round, but typically buckets are purchased by one person for one person. And no, the bucket doesn't count against the 15 drinks per day limit.)
  13. Continental breakfast from room service is what we do. Coffee pot holds about 4 cups.
  14. The beer cans are the same ones at the bar so there's no way to tell. It is my belief that the main reason to have the policy in place is to keep people from bringing their 1 liter bottle of booze up to the lido deck.
  15. I figured that would be case which is why might was italicized. 🙂
  16. I actually prefer those to an omelet. It always amazes me that they can be runny in the middle after being in the warmer. I don't recall seeing them on our Pride sailing in 2012 (first time on CCL) and can't remember when they first appeared but I do like the option.
  17. There are no greens fees for putt putt golf.🤣 OP, thanks for the 411!
  18. Exactly, it's impossible to tell how many folks are deterred just from the fact that a BC is being done. Complacency is a possible result "98% of the people we do background checks pass, so we don't need to do as many".
  19. Welcome to Cruise Critic. We cannot recommend travel agents on this forum. Not sure what advice in particular you are looking for. If it is to find a way to get a cabin on a sold out sailing I can think of little that would help (some travel agents might have a block of cabins that they are holding for a particular sailing but with all of the travel agents in the world finding them might be like trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack). You might check some of the larger online ones. If you call Carnival they might have a waiting list that you can be put on in case someone cancels at the last minute, but I would think that, too, might be a long shot. As for general advice on waiting til the last minute it is possible with less popular sailings to find one and book it, but your choice of cabins is going to be limited and may not meet your needs.
  20. Yes, I have cruised other cruise lines but only when their fare is equal to or less then what Carnival's fare. I've yet to sail another line that is so good that I'd pay substantiallly more for.
  21. That's all well and good but people shouldn't switch cruise lines and expect a different result. People that solely criticize Carnival while ignoring the industry wide reality evidently need to be reminded of it. We've cruised 3 times since the restart and feel that Carnival still checks the biggest box of all for us- they are still a good value for our vacation dollar.
  22. Exactly this. I have seen people just carrying the box of soda in their hand.
  23. Not necessarily my logic, but it is the logic used by many bean counters (hey, let's put one less tomato in the salad and we can save thousands) and I can see this being argued out this way to the beards. I glanced at his placebook page and he has mentioned omelets several times. We have no idea how things are going to evolve going forward and I hope that your prognostication is incorrect.
  24. I do use a PVP but by the time I call her I basically already have everything picked out, including which cabin we'd like.
