I am looking forward to this. 

The booking is secure.....the agent is just that, an "agent", selling a product that happens to be a cruise...the booking is with the cruise line, tour operator, airline etc

I would not book anything before at least September but thats just me. Very unlikely any ship wiill sail in May. Here is link to a thread that may be helpful

With your lockdown, won't you still be able to go grocery shopping? Here all the grocery stores are open. I noticed Pep Boys was even open for business. Life for us hasn't changed much. For a change of pace, the wife and I walked a mile this afternoon. The exercise does help, and I can sure use the exercise! 

Glad you can get out!!! Azaleas out here, lovely and lots of pollen...We can go to grocer, drug store, doctor, take out and delivery from restaurants. Home Depot and Lowe's will be open and were packed today cause it will be good yard work weekend. Friends in healthcare can't even see grandkids but my neighbor is letting fiance and other daughters boyfriend visit..smh 😯😨

Our county goes on lock down Thursday at 8am for 3 weeks...grocers will be insane tomorrow! Sounds like a lot of you are in the same situation.  Hope you'll stop by and let us know how you are doing and we have a fun Memory Lane thread going

Found cruise card from my 1st cruise on the Commodore Caribe -- loved the ocean liners -  and my name was my nickname aka "Caro" and they said it was okay because my name was right on the drivers license!!  We were on two years in a row and both times the Shirelles were guest entertainers --- it was fun hanging out with them and their spouses and hearing all the great stories about Motown

Where in western PA?  Grew up in the Burgh but spent lots of time in Zelienople and Butler area with grandparents.

I think this is the "new  normal", certainly nothing like it in my 7 decades and unfortunately not going back to our "usual normal" in the near term . Here in Charlotte we are not on lockdown but it may come. some people aren't taking it serious enough. One friend who works in hospital near Asheville in quarantine.  My son's bar here has big outdoor area that can't be used now either --small business and they are open 5 hours a day for beer, wine, soft drink and snack takeout and burgers and hot dogs to go from 5-7pm.

They have no idea when they will get back to their house on Roatan but glad they changed air ticket 2 weeks ago or they would be there indefinitely. It's locked up tight, no flights at all.

Since we are all one big community we thought it would be a great idea to start a thread on each form so that our members can have a place to socialize during this time of social distancing or "stay in place" that we are all doing. Cruise Critic is a community and now is the time that we need to be able to socialize and show support for one another. All we ask is that you please show respect and kindness to each other and please also keep ALL politics off of this thread no matter where you live.  Everyone is frustrated and stressed but I know as a host I would like to know how you are doing.

The original Mardi Gras in the early 80s I think......I do remember vividly meeting some nice guys from Canada. Pat and I were in an empty bar on a rainy afternoon playing the piano and singing all these ballads and people kept coming in putting dollar bills in the regular guy's tip glass.

With so much of the country and so many ports on lockdown and businesses closed I don't see how cruises could start up again for at least a month after the virus peaks....and who knows how long on that will be. I tend to be optimistic by nature but wondered when cruises were halted why it wasn't at least late May.

You need to ask Carnival this question to get a definite answer. Things are in flux and you don't want to risk getting perhaps inaccurate but well meant advice

As title suggests it is to discuss other cruise  lines that have ceased operating for now.  I was trying to create a place for non-Carnival discussion of this so you guys could post about that and not be off topic.  So far Princess and Virgin have suspended operations.  More may follow?  I didn't think it would be so confusing😕. I can close it if it is.
