That couldn't have anything to do with people drinking excessively, could it?

Some folks can easily reach the 15 drink limit without any problem and others might only have 4,5 or 6 drinks a day on their account. 😏

No, it came about after a spring break cruise that I was on.  Many of the college students were sharing the package. They caught quite a few of them.

I'm sure this helped lead to the decision

Enjoy the advantage of being able to discretely utilize the package for the third person. It's one way of adding value to their overpriced package.

It's also the way that causes Princess to change the rules and pricing of the packages for the rest of us who choose to follow the rules of the package.

If you get caught sharing, the package is canceled and they retroactively charge you for each and every drink you have consumed. And yes, it does happen as we have seen it.

Thank you. We would really like to keep this thread intact. But now we are confused upon receipt of your post. We enjoyed and were inspired by @KenTheCruiser recent Live from Alaska. We noticed he received recognition and a badge for doing a live thread. This is our first attempt at a live thread. We explained that in the opening of the thread. Hence, we named it Live. He began his live thread 8 days before boarding the ship.

We did read another live thread this morning found here:

This is written more than a month live and still has not left for his cruise yet.

    This why we are confused.

@graphicguy included stars on either side of his *Live*. If we included the stars on our thread as he did, is this acceptable?

If not, can we put semi or liveish and keep the rest of the tittle?

On average there are 500 views per day (successful by our standards). Will the thread stay intact and keep our viewers?

Of course, you can keep the live from and it won't be touched!  Please don't think I was negating your live from at all. Please accept my apology.    I think there were some viewers that were confused as it was 2 months prior to your sailing as well all the pictures of your last cruise on it.  Some may think this is from your next sailing.

I greatly look forward to following along on your cruise and of course you will get recognition for doing a live from.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post all about your cruise and thank you even more for posting live from your cruise when you are on it.  It looks like a wonderful sailing and hope you will absolutely love every moment!

  4. This looks to be a review of a past cruise on another cruise line rather than a live from on a Princess ship, which I think is confusing members.

I do see that you are taking a Princess cruise at the end of July.

My concern is this will drop back pages as time goes on and you will no longer be able to find it when you actually are live.

Would you like me to change the title of the thread @scubacruiserx2

Is O'Malley's open for lunch on embarkation day? Seems it might be quieter than fighting Lido.

It was the same on the April 20th sailing as what JamieLogical experienced, only Gigi's was open for lunch on embarkation day out of those 3.

The MDR is open for lunch until 1:00 or 1:30.

Not saying there aren't night owls.  What I'm saying is that they're aren't enough of them.  Few people at a bar isn't really a fun time for me.  I'm looking for a nightclub/nightclub concert kind of experience/atmosphere, which RC has.

oh I get that, there are sailings where it's way too quiet for me and I'm 62. I prefer lively venues and will say that Royal has a huge leg up on that.

To preface my statement, I'm in my 30s.

One of the things I find boring about Princess is the lack of participation in the night life.  The ship usually dies down by around 9:00 p.m.  There are a few stragglers in the Piazza and those attending the late show, but it's too quiet for me.  On RC, there's usually some very well attended attended event going on until midnight.  It's really no fun when there's only 10 or so people at an event.  This is due in part to the crowd almost always overwhelmingly leaning towards the retired, semi-retired, or close to retirement.  It's great when the crowd leans European because even though, they may be old, they stay up.  Alaska seems to also be an anomaly to this because of the numerous families.

It's subjective, but the music on Princess isn't really my cup of tea.  It's always instrumental, 50s, 60's, 70s, and 80's.  I wasn't even born yet.  When music from my generation is played, the lack of participation again rears, and it goes as far as passengers complaining to play something else.  Again this boils down to the demographic.

I guess majority rules (get the trivia pun?), on Princess ships.

We met people from our town on our enchanted sailing with a 31 one year old. Too bad you weren't on our sailing, we closed the bar every night.

Actually had fun last night out until late.

The princess advertises a great suite package ,but failed to deliver to me.

Was this your first suite on Princess?  If I recall, you bid and that lower bid was accepted which took you from a deluxe balcony to the vista suite.

Since you sailed with your sister who won a mini suite, did you still eat in reserved dining since she wasn't able to go there unless she had a reserve mini?

I know you didn't care for the food or crew.  Out of curiosity, which are your favorite restaurants in Naples for this?

This is a great place to vent, but unfortunately it won't change your experience.  Looks like Princess is not the line for you to sail in the future.

    The princess apologize just appeared.

their was nothing special about this ship or crew.

i was looking forward to the ship, and I was disappointed.

    the pizza is still excellent

That's too bad, hopefully you enjoy your next sailing on another cruise line.

I was on the same ship just a few weeks prior to you and met some amazing crew members. Also really enjoyed the ship.  Was it perfect, no but I have yet to go on any cruise line where every single thing was perfect.  Not sure why you didn't have reserve class dining as it worked well on our sailing.  I believe you bid on your upgrade which is how you got your suite.  Unfortunately when you bid, you could end up with that cabin anywhere on the ship and it just so happens that you ended up far from the concierge lounge. With a large ship, they can't put the concierge lounge close to every suite.  I was in a very forward suite on an NCL ship and it was a long walk to the Haven lounge but it was what it was I bid on that suite type, so took what I was given.

But as every other place in life, we all have our own experiences and opinions.

Again, hope you enjoy whatever line you cruise on next time around.

Junella ❣️  hope she stays on the SUN (or comes back) by mid October ...

@voljeep she has been on since January but unfortunately goes home the first week of September.  It's a shame that we both keep missing her.

Another example of why we all cruise Princess, the beyond exceptional crew!

Ship was so crowded,  ever felt we  never mattered to anyone or anything.

chopped up deck plans , easy to get on wrong elevator.

food so so, suite perks none existent.

I appreciate you didn't care for you cruise and you have made that very evident, but I don't see the connection between these things and being bored.

I get that you really disliked your sailing, but nothing that any of us say will change your mind as you have made it clear that you won't sail with them again.

It's great that you have other cruise lines to chose from and can hopefully have lots of fun on your next cruise.

    #1) the crew and staff!!!
#2) they cruise from our home port

#3) nonstop activities, events or entertainment or places for you can go for nothing but quiet and relaxation

#4) the medallion and app with deliveries throughout the ship

    #5) their food and drink

#6) their all inclusive fare options

    #7) their beds

I could probably go on and on ..

The one thing I don’t like is that there is smoking in the casino!  Yuk!

I'm going to use Cruise Raider's list as my own since they hit all my reasons.  Hopefully they don't mind!

It's the crew, the crew, the crew!!

  13. Princess uses Terminal 2 but can also use other Piers when there is more than one ship in port. If this is the case, then the larger ship will be at Terminal 2.

The Heron Parking garage is the one to use if sailing from Terminal 2,  Disney also uses this garage. They do not take reservations.  The only time parking could be a slight issue is there is a huge event at the convention center and people use that to park besides the convention center garage.  I've personally never had an issue.

You drop off your bags, park and then there is a walkway on the 5th floor of the parking garage which will bring you to elevators.  From there you will find the line and area to check in.

That's all for Terminal 2.  If departing from another terminal, it will be different.

  14. Formal nights are only for the MDR and you will see many around the ship and at specialty dining dressed how they would on casual nights.  Some people also dress for dinner and then go back and change back back to casual after eating. Others stay in their "formal wear" the entire night.  You will see various ideas on what formal is these days.

You will find Caribbean sailings to be much more casual in dress than European sailings.  Many will be dressed just ike they are for casual nights and then there will be some in suits.  On the Caribbean sailings I personally see very few tuxes.

You can have a drink at any bar you wish dressed casually.  Again, there is not a dress code suggestion for anywhere other than the MDR.

You will find that this is a touchy subject on these boards so be prepared to read so many differing opinions!

Looking at the Enchanted Princess Premium Package says it includes unlimited Casual Dining venues , but does not elaborate on  , which ones are the Casual Dining restaurants ?

On the Enchanted it includes O'Malley's, Gigi's Pizzeria by Alfredo and Ocean Terrace sushi which are all pay venues unless you have the Premium Package or use the 2 casual dining on the Plus package.

Original post second paragraph.  “ Included in the Princess Premier Package”.  I’m finding it difficult to get all worked up about Pitbull’s vodka!  Grey Goose suffices for me.  It will be tough to beat Whispering Angel, too!

Keep with the Grey Goose, it's much  smoother than Pitbull's vodka.

Feels like it's the same PR group that promoted the Brightline partnership, much ado about nothing.  LOL

And there you have it folks!

    Thank you for your comments.
I was told by several people that know, Princess does this on purpose. They want to give it back to you as OBC so that you will spend it on the ship, that way they make money 2 ways. They go out of their way to make it difficult. Not that this is anything new but it’s all about the money, they get it up front as much as possible and then make it a pure nightmare to get your money back. Some things never change.

Cancel your dinners and you will get a refund to your credit card fairly quickly.

It take a day or so for the package to load into your account. Then you can rebook your dinners either on the website or on the phone if the app doesn't work.

I just did this recently and it was very easy.

@azbirdmom I thought about that after posting but those are PAST cruises so nothing can be charged to those numbers. I did edit to remove FCD # and next cruise which is where that WELCOME HOME FCD is applied because that could be tampered with. I think I'm ok but will ask CC monitor if my Princess account is at risk

@Ombud Just to be on the safe side, I got rid of it.  Who knows what someone could find out with past info!
