  1. URComped has playing requirements; BCC comped sailings do not as they’re solely based your previous sailings play
  2. It’s solely based on your previous sailings play
  3. We French Onion soup often and think 9 times out of 10 times, its fantastic on X; I am also surprised it's a regular recipe. I'll share some tips we use for anyone who's interested, we like flavor so this will be a bolder but its amazing: - Use a crockpot, put it outside and slow cook the onions 8-10 hours, can even do this overnight - Add Vidalia onions, ideally two or more types of onions - Use 100% beef stock, if you don't make it home made, various websites agree that regular supermarket bought beef broth isn't very good as they don't use enough beef, it's better to buy "better than bullion" which is what we use - Add a tablespoon of Worchester sauce - For sugar use brown sugar or molasses - For the bread, use toasted garlic bread (the kitchen will smell amazing)
  4. St Martin, both go to the exact same dive sites Ocean explorer = transportation, they do offer it for $16/person Dive Sint Maarten = walking distance For St Thomas: Ship tour, you do walk from the ship to the dive boat but it'll be two shallow dives usually with lots of beginners and students. Probably won't dive deeper than 35'; doubtful you see anything special JJ divers, does require transportation for $10/person but you'll see lot of harmless black tip reef sharks
  5. Generally when companies want to cutback, they'll bundle some consumers improvements when introducing cutbacks yet it seems X got lazy and only gave us cutbacks. We had an avalanche of cutbacks rollout in 2023 so we can't be surprised if more cutbacks appear in 2024. One positive is that you'll most likely have descent wi-fi speeds; while it can be fast on the E-Class they seemed to throttle it down on other ships yet it's still a huge improvement from before when you clicked on a linked watched it spin for 30 seconds wondering if the page would even load or not. Boarding windows are currently assigned and "recommended", they are rarely enforced from the US ports at the moment; this is my direct experience as in the past year I have sailed out of Miami, FLL 4 times, San Pedro CA and San Diego
  6. Oasis class, more kids, you have lots of choices with both entertainment including name-branded broadway shows, aqua-theater, multiple comedians shows each night and dining options Edge class, less kids, for entertainment you generally have one single thing going on at one time, generally the night show will be one night of a comedian, one night of a magician and the rest are musicals
  7. From what I've read folks do not think it's rewarding enough; we do have to remember after other cruise lines their biggest competition are AI resorts and not to mention most hotels all over the world include fast free wifi. X does something Carnival doesn't, gives you more loyalty points per room category
  8. FYI: It was the very first google search result...Answer: "The dress code will be enforced at all restaurants. And guests are asked to follow the Smart Casual or Evening Chic dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances." My experience, they'll be zero dress code enforcement other than the restaurants. On all my sailings, I always see dress code violations during dinner so enforcement hasn't been very strict.
  9. Yup. To add to this, the reason its not much better than online is because the "casino rates" are entirely different than prices online and often much higher. Best to pick out a few sailings, price them out on Celebrity's website, call BCC to get their rate and book whatever's cheaper
  10. Sharing answers has been going strong for 2+ years; would be naive to believe that no one at X is aware of shared answers
  11. Thanks. I have an iPhone and another issue is texting non-iPhone users in existing group texts
  12. Understand zoom, FaceTime, FB messaging, etc, all work. I will be receiving an important cell phone when on a sailing while on a sea-day. There’s no way to have them contact me any other way; even if I were home I wish they could just email vs calling me. Sounds like I’ll simply just miss the call
  13. got it, you didn’t originally provide any context
  14. I was unable to do phone calls on the Celebration. Yes, I'm aware you can use other apps like whatsapp yet that doesn't help with incoming calls
  15. Everyone in the casino who's actively playing receives free drinks from the classic drink package. Free room requirements are somewhat of a mystery and the requirements seems to constantly change. We do know that it's based on your play from the PREVIOUS sailing.
  16. 1) First course of action should be to video record it which gives you evidence and a date/time stamp 2) Go to guest services, ideally in the middle of the night when it's loud, present the evidence and ask for another stateroom and explain this is ruining your sleep and vacation experience Read many horror stories that when security would enter the offending stateroom they'll say something like "one of your neighboring staterooms is complaining"
  17. Unfortunately this is entirely different as smoking is a safety issue while being disruptive isn't
  18. I'll help out others, pointless to click on this as there's no info about if or when it'll resume. This is one of 10ish threads about it
  19. Standard stall tactic and many of us have contacted the exec office. Simply, someone at X simply call the vendor, Bags Inc, who still lists X as a partner
  20. Allowing free room service actually reduces crew…MDR dinner uses M’d, asst M’d, waiter, asst waiter, water person, sommelier, bread person and table bussers
  21. On the M-Class ships there simply aren't enough tables and generally the peak time is 630-730. Some ships list their opening time for dinner at 530pm and some 6pm, when we were on the Millie last Oct, they opened at 530pm yet would open the doors and seat people right at 5pm although there wasn't a wait staff until opening time/530pm. If you wanted to eat near with a table by the window you basically had to show up at 445pm.
