I'm purely speculating that perhaps the crew member you interacted with was brand new with Muster 2.0
-
Were they X-tours or non-X tours?
-
FYI1: X = Celebrity (nickname) FYI2: X-Tours means if for whatever reason the ship leaves before you return, they will cover the expense of getting back on the ship. They don't guarantee as in extremely rare circumstances if there's danger such as unexpected fog, the ship can leave early You should ask your TA to be sure
-
It's like a TA perk/kickback which can include free tours

I have been on about 20 X sailings post-pandemic and I have never seen this. Several times, I've seen the crew "guide" passengers by asking something like "I don't see you watched it in the app so you both watched it in your stateroom, right?"

It was concluded that NCL was using entertainers for the e-muster then they did a huge cut of entertainment including production staff, so they went back. Disney also went back to in-person but they may have changed back. The Epic is NCL's worst-rated ship, I went on her, let's just say I was happy there was only one sea day on day 2

Help Salt Lifer choose our next cruise (Alaska)!
NutsAboutGolf replied to Salt Lifer's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I said in another thread, Alaska was a one-and-done, we found Norway to be stunning. Definitely try Alaska once but add a Norway cruise to your bucket list -

The Summit, unlike the Solstice, was revolutionized and will therefore feel newer than the Solstice -
That is for offshore commercial whaling and we're not sure if their government is actually enforcing that, there are also "small hunts" as well

I do feel bad when any sailing has a deviation Japan just added a fourth whale to hunt, Fin, earlier this month. Japan is also building a new "mother" whaling ship which is expected to hunt in the Antarctic waters where humpback whales can gather. I am not saying they will hunt humpbacks, I am just saying they're going to continue to expand operations. There's no whaling enforcement so there's the theory they are relocating to the South Pole waters as it would be far more dangerous and expensive for activist or international Govt vessels to monitor them Absolutely a whale and a ship colliding is bad news but the larger the ship, the higher the odds they have of having radar/sonar; it doesn't stop whale strikes but it is very helpful Humpbacks are known to help other mammals from danger, if anyone would enjoy a humpback saving a human, it's an incredibly moving video:

Us too, I do cruise solo at times but regardless if she goes with me or I'm solo, the prices are just too high compared to visiting by land in many 3rd world countries
-
There are solo deals out there, we also have to remember that the supplement CAN vary by room type. In a balcony...15% for the Sillie on Nov 29, 21% for the Sillie on Jul 17. Lots of options for most ships within 60-70% range although I only looked at balconies
-
Unfortunately, Japan is one of 3 countries (Japan, Norway, and Iceland) that still perform commercial whaling. Therefore I doubt there are any speed restrictions and if there are, it's most likely not for the whale's benefits

Thanks for sharing that! In 2022 they had a lifetime option of $100, it appears to be $140 lifetime currently with a partner promo code. The more credit cards you have, the more value you get from it. I have ten credit cards overall, all ten accrue points/miles/cashback, and some of those accruals can change from month to month; 6 of those cards have offers. For me, the extension/app reads both the points and offers between ten credit cards and tells me which credit card will provide the highest value. Yet the best credit card is only half the battle as there can be many wildcards such as cashback websites, earning 10 points per dollar if using the Chase travel portal, an airline credit card that gives miles plus your spend helps earn you airline status, etc and the final piece to the puzzle, redeeming the points/miles for maximum value. Anything that helps automate any of that saves me time

There was, I was on the 5th Edge sailing after the restart (July 2021), and we shared a table for many meals. Capt Kate was the Capt and during her Q&A, she was asked why there was no spacing out of any kind at the MDR tables and why they were stacking people on top of each other when on other cruise lines they were social distancing. She basically answered, enjoy things being back to normal on Celebrity because cruise lines have two different avenues they can go, with test cruises that utilize social distancing or no test cruises which allows them to restart sooner. Another negative thing about that, we were in Cozumel, we could only get off the ship if we booked a bubble tour and most options weren't appealing. However, other cruise line ships were in port and were free to do whatever they wanted

Apple hasn't listed a specific range, yet it's all Bluetooth based so the consensus is a max of 30' if unobstructed

Absolutely. For the Elite happy hour and free coffees from Cafe Al Bacio (CAB) for those with the Elite Plus status, the crew generally will only give you one drink per Elite Plus person so it's unlikely you can order two free free drinks since she doesn't have status. Some will make exceptions but that isn't the rule. That CAB line can get ridiculously long in the morning

The United Airlines baggage tracking website; said out for delivery at one point with delivery by 4pm but when I checked the Airtag location at 3pm, they were still in at the airport and weren't delivered until 2am

No chance Ms. Nuts could go yet recently a coworker was granted a sabbatical so there's hope for me...lol

They came in handy yesterday. Delayed flight shortened the connection time, bags didn’t make it and United said they’d deliver to the hotel that was on the coast about 120 miles away. I landed at 11am and they weren’t delivered until 2am. Thanks to my AirTags I could see when they really were on their way or not. I’ll also add the United bag tracker wasn’t remotely accurate with the status
