  1. X, CCL, RCL, NCL, Princess and Disney all have on-going Mexican Riviera sailings and just about any other cruise line we can name is scheduled to have a stop in one of the Mexican Riviera ports
  2. Capt Kate does have some very popular social media accounts Ditto
  3. It used to be that all sailings would have prime rib on the first night however that may have changed Like everyone else I’d pick Eden and I have not tried Le Voyage but would encourage anyone to look at the menu and book if they like it
  4. Negative ghost rider, green peace is summarizing the study. If anyone cares, Google is your friend
  5. Which is a myth, note these studies are peer-reviewed: And on a more playful note:
  6. Thanks, that's what I get for skimming. Turns out I follow them on youtube and skipped over it because it's just about 19mins long...
  7. Not coming up for me even after I changed the filter to the most recent upload date...Perhaps list the channel name and/or double check the title
  8. The plastic container and foil top aren't considered wastage? 🤔
  9. Apparently X's management doesn't know enough about the whole operation either. Have a VALID issue with X and their customer service tells you to pound sand? Email LLP/the Exec Team, if they feel it's valid, it'll be fixed as I've personally experienced and seen reported here on CC. During the pandemic they went "Always Included" that has evolved/devolved several times and even the disingenuous name changed to "All Included" It's inevitable that all fees will increase and that new fees will receive push-back. I shared my opinion of specific reasons why your proposed fees wouldn't pull in much revenue and will summarize them yet the overall point is, why bother with the hassle of deploying $10/day $40/bag (or whatever amount) fees? Why not simply increase the cruise fare by $40-$70/person? It's easy to say 3000 people will bring a bag so that's $40 x 3000 = $$$ but that isn't the case at all Baggage fees: - Like airlines if you have status or hold a co-branded credit card you receive free baggage. - When/how do you charge the person who did NOT pay in advance? You'd need to hire additional staff to handle baggage fees outside of the terminal because you drop off your bags with porters outside of the terminal. There's also the up front cost and ongoing maintenance of the hardware and software. - Like airlines many only use checked baggage as a LAST RESORT as they'll attempt to use a FREE carryon. - If more people are carrying on, expect an overall more casually dressed sailing and folks arguing with Matre Ds and Guest Services. - For many, packing a carry-on allows you to get 7 nights, therefore potential customers may need a really good reason to booking a 8+ night sailing and being charged a fee. - If X charges fees and Princess (or any competitor) doesn't, many will start looking into princess. I'll ask again, is it worth the hassle or is it better to simply increase the fare by $40-$70/person?
  10. Cruiselines won't do it until it's legal at the (US) federal level which it isn't currently. Also, I smell weed in multiple places on every sailing therefore its seemingly very easy to smuggle on. So why would someone want to pay X's most likely expensive prices if it's offered (rhetorical)?
  11. On the Sept 30th Millie sailing the bag wasn't present, attendant told us they no longer have them. It's entirely possible they were out at that time and got more later 🤔
  12. Everything was quick EXCEPT if you didn't have your luggage tags printed; that line was about 300 people long when I went last month. Didn't even need to attach the tags as the porters will attach them for you. Show up without tags and there's one sole person validating your name with your room number then would hand write your cabin number onto a blank tag. Previously in "L.A." and all other X ports the porters would have the blanks tags and would write them on
  13. Carnival has Guys Burger and that is free; Guys Burger isn't a land restaurant so there could be something like that partner with a famous chef dynamic for the complimentary items, not just for suite guests According to one forum member, they ordered the steak in luminae, disliked it, spoke to a manager who stated X changed their beef supplier for all restaurants including luminae (except for the specialty dining) in 2023 and that the manager has already heard several complaints. Just an example that X can't be trusted
  14. Like most things in life, nothing is perfect, you have to take the good with the bad. I would imagine Ritz has the best food at sea (a GOOD). But their pricing is insane (a BAD). Just one example...
  15. The whole idea though is my last sentence you quoted or to put it another way, there is no way trust X won't do future cutbacks unless they partner with chains
  16. RCG is the parent holding company of both X and RCI. X and RCI are literally polar opposites in the majority of areas. Some random examples, X has the below average Mast Grill, RCI has Johnny Rockets. RCI has all sorts of attractions like flo-rider, a rock climbing wall, ice skating rink, etc, X literally has nothing like that. To ensure food quality, as I stated earlier, partnering with existing restaurants will ensure they adhere to specific recipes and food quality and equally as important, immune from future budget cuts. I believe the majority would prefer Five Guys over the Mast Grill, Porto's Bakery over the current lackluster desserts, Maggiano's Little Italy over Tuscan, the Capitol Grill to the steakhouse, add a PF Changs, etc. If X didn't continually lower food quality, we wouldn't even need to suggest adding chain restaurants but they simply can't be trusted to maintain a quality product
  17. 100% agree, I touched on NCL following Virgin in an earlier post with replacing the self-serve buffet with a made to order "food hall". However, I have no idea what X is doing with food as they continue to downgrade the quality and selection including at the buffet. I've suggested many times on here why not serve the MDR menu at the buffet, all the items already plated? You would have to imagine that requires less labor than eating in the MDR With all that being said @LMaxwell states X is revamping the dining experience but won't share the details
  18. mean this in the most respectful way isn’t that what à la cart means?
  19. Ditto! Also asking specific questions (like the latest Starlink deployment schedule) often works
  20. Of course; my prediction is they'll stay around well beyond two years but I also could be wrong
  21. I believe the whole idea is to have Gwyneth Paltrow aboard for marketing purpose; maybe LLP is using this as an opportunity to hang out with Gwyneth
  22. Very rarely have I "triggered" the call back system. I'd guess 95% of the time I have no choice but to remain on hold
  23. The problem is they can raise prices and "promise" better food but you have no guarantees thanks to the cruise contract. They can decide to lower food quality at anytime after final payment
  24. That was great, thanks for sharing. I'd love for any X exec including LLP to go to a restaurant and be served an X MDR steak...Everyone KNOWS she would send it back...lol
