  1. Normal risk/ reward decision here. Save some good money but know they are booking the cheapest (aka. worst/connecting/latest) flights they can get. I had similar 12 ours delay between docking and flight, and the airline (United) would not allow any changes to the flight in advance without NCL authorizing.....and once we got to the airport all the earlier flights were full and we spent the day unsucessfuly standying by. But we saved probably $500........so just things to consider next time on whether to use the offer. Personally, I wish they would remove it because it does affect the cruise pricing (watch those prices go down once they remove the air promo as the cruise approaches).
  2. Cruise ships were never intended to be a floating medical facility, so this whole situation is not to anyone's liking. Hope you feel better.
  3. Yup, life must go on. Proof of vaccination should stay but the testing charade needs to stop.
  4. So for those of you with 2-day deviations heading to Europe from USA, how does that timing work out? I assume if the ship has a PM Thursday departure in Europe, a "normal" (no deviation at all) flight from USA would be Wednesday departure arriving on Thursday.....so a 1-day deviation is Tuesday departure and 2-day deviation is a Monday departure....is that how it works?
  5. I used a TA and just won a bid, but have booked Costco many times and always unable to bid anywhere
  6. What level of WIFI do you think is needed to complete a proctored test? We are on Voyager so assume I would buy a one-day VOOM SURF + STREAM VOYAGE PACKAGE once onboard (we don't need it every day).
  7. @JCMass. Did you end up in this room? we just got assigned it and trying to decide whether to keep or move. It looks to be right behind the elevators, any problems hearing that?
  8. @cyntCongrats on your win! Once you are awarded into a new category can you really change your room to another available in same category? I wouldn't have expected that but let us know what you find.
  9. Just got our email today for our 06/26 Voyager sailing, we are going from a 4D balcony to 1-bedroom GS and saving $1,937 each over today's rates (after deducting our balcony rate/ upgrade bid). I received a credit card charge alert at 10:36AM and then the official award email at 10:40AM. This will be our first time above a JS and mainly bid for evening cocktails in the lounge as very port intensive (1 sea day) so little time in the room. Hope we don't like it too much 🙂
  10. I think it is great value to see what kind of bids are being accepted.....but also agree with others that it is highly variable due to ship sizes/ booked capacities. @ronandannette you shared an interesting experience, so does this mean that even though the online price of a balcony was much higher than the minimum upgrade amounts, you were able to get a lower than current online price over the phone directly with Royal? I assume your initial booking was with them but that is surprising (and great to know) that one can call and get lower rates than the website price or upgrade price.
  11. basically https://www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade Some travel agents don't allow their reservations to participate. Mine does but it took 2 business days to work. Not sure how far out it opens but I put a bid in about 60 days out. No telling when you will hear if your bid is accepted (could be today, could be while you are driving to the port). Hopefully that and a little reading will help out. Good luck!
  12. At this point the only reason to cancel these is if the season is so undersold that they can fill more cabins in other ports. I there are some great deals on some unique ports (Visby, Kotka, Klaipeda, etc) and would be a shame to let Putin scare you away from some wonderful countries after all these miserable COVID days. Now, if the US would just stop their weird airlines-only rules on re-entry COVID testing....well I can wish..... 🙂
