Nice review BJ. But my last Cruise on the Discovery in the S&T was our worst meal of the cruise, I will just leave a picture of my meal and let you all make up your own minds. I know all ships ate different but as a TUI/Marella Brand should all be singing off the same hymn sheet. PS, Soon to try a new brand in 9 days time for 12 days.

Over the years. All Thomson/Tui/Marella ships have a sale notice put on them. From memory, I can't remember none been sold. Only scrapped and leases run out.

Due to rocketing prices on Marella we have jumped ship again. We wanted to do the Canaries in January, but stupid prices for 1 week. So we looked about and got a very good deal on P&O Iona for Jan 2nd for 12 days from Southampton return, plus we get to do BoB 2 ways..that will be the highlite of our cruise. This cruise cost us 3/4 of the price for 1 week, but we get 12 days, I hope Marella change their price structure soon, as it really is getting impossible for "Joe Bloggs" to afford Marella as all the other cruise lines are doing really good prices at the Moment with OBC. I love Marella and have done over 40 cruises with them over the years but just been priced out of my price range 😇

Saw an offer on the MSC Virtuosa at a bargain price and had a go, as you do 😁 Apart from the ship being brand new and all mod cons being very glitzy and big, and I mean Big, 6k+ passengers. Lucky enough, only 2600 Plus 1600 crew . Marella is still way out in front when it comes to Entertainment and Food and AI. The MSC wasn't for me. But if you don't try, you don't know Roll on June with the "new" Voyager RR

Just came back from another cruise line with nearly 3k passengers on from 5 different countries. How we came back Covid free is a Miracle indeed. Mingled freely and went to several Euro Countries on the North Sea coasts. On the local transport with no masks and all the major shopping centres, On Disembarkation with 1000s of other passengers stood in the Qs for a while. I think we were either lucky or it's on the way out.

Marella Discovery is in for refurbishment at the moment in Cádiz. Marella Cruises has awarded MJM Marine a multi-million-pound contract for refurbishment work onboard the Marella Discovery, according to a press release. The Marella Discovery will undergo the renovation of its cabins and suites in November 2022, while in Cádiz, Spain. Following the recent installation of antimicrobial lighting solutions for public restrooms aboard the Explorer, MJM will present Marella with the installation of the VYV Technology on the Discovery's wet units. According to MJM, this will provide additional antimicrobial coverage within the cabin spaces, in accordance with the new environmental wellness standards. This renovation project will also benefit both MJM and the local economy by creating a number of new job openings in Newry, Mourne, and Down.

This was not about the rights or wrongs about paying for specialised restaurants, but just to make people aware if they did book it. We paid for it as we didn't want to get involved in the dress to impress night and wanted a more laid back night.

Just a heads-up. We booked the surf & Turf on Discovery for sea day before we travelled and paid for 4 people (over £100) when I got home this week I found out we were charged again. Please check before you leave the restaurant, as I now have the pain of trying to get a refund. The only way you can do this is by email etc. over 28 days. I did check my final day on the TUI Navigator App, and it didn't show up on there. Only found out when I checked my Bank Acc. The weather was brilliant, wasn't it. Sat many tea time in the Atrium having a few before the evening meal. Never much ventured into the Squidly Anchor. Mainly the Evil Moor. So what did you think of the 2 Guitarists and the Piano players..the 2 groups were Good.
