  1. Others have pointed out that doing your exchange on board is expensive, airports by and large are just as bad. Get what you need from your local bank to get started and keep your ATM card handy for other needs along the way.
  2. KEN31VA has it right, call the airline and ask, don't do it online. A real person can "bend" the rules for you. With the weather you are talking about I would get out ASAP and enjoy some extra time in OSJ. When we did cruises out there in years gone by we always went 2 days early....and the last year we did it there was a blizzard forecast for the NE on our scheduled travel day so I called the airline and moved us to the next day when work said I could not go 3 days early..of course the snow was a day late but we did get out after a delay.....go early, do it now.
  3. But if they did that then it would be too easy for us to look for price drops and ask for refunds, OBC or upgrades......It used to be easy to check every week or so but now it is just a nightmare to try and compare.
  4. Be sure to drop by Murano a few days ahead and leave a note with the MD. Yes, you will get a cake maybe even two like my wife did on our Alaska cruise when they thought it was her birthday......but were a week early. Mostly just go and enjoy it, that is what really matters.
  5. If you want to tour in Rome before the cruise check out Albergo del Senato. Right on Pantheon square. Very nice, great location. For transport from the airport to the city, city to the port, port to airport, we use Romcabs.com. Never ever a problem with them.
  6. DW's passport went MIA at the height of the pandemic and a lot of offices were shut down and things were really backed up. I reported missing online, made an appointment at our local post office to apply for a new one, had new pictures taken. The whole process took about a month. Play it safe and allow 8 weeks would be my plan.
  7. Unless things have changed the ships dock right across the street from the Holiday Inn in The Rocks. I can see why non-Celebrity tours would want to stay out of the pier traffic and only pick up at a hotel but we walked, with all of our luggage from the Holiday Inn to the ship. It was just a block and a half.
