  1. Thanks all. Hubby was very happy when I read him these posts. He always wears his good navy blazer on the plane and wants that to be his go to dress jacket. He also does not mind bringing a few ties and a white button down shirt. Now, if I could just convince myself to go for a single look----but, we all know that is not going to happen.:D

  2. Ok Duffys...now we know where you are! Will see you soon at all the meet and greets on the Prinsendam .

    Barbara and Roger.

Looking forward to it. Have not seen you on the roll call. Did see you like to play bridge. That is where you will find us.

  3. Yes! We absolutely loved it! The balcony was great! My only cabin compliant was that it was tight for a family of four. I have become accustomed (on other cruise lines) to the kids beds being the pull out sofa with a bunk above and on this ship with the pull out sofa and a bunk over the main bed. Which meant we smacked our heads every time we got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom!

We were a family of four in that cabin last year. For future cruisers, we asked the room steward to make up our bed upside down so we would not have the head bumping problem. Also, the large covered area on the veranda came in very handy when we were packing on the last day. Laid the luggage out there and no room in the cabin was taken up with it.

  4. Would love to hear how you liked cabin 7109, I just put it on reserve for myself and the DH, not realizing it was a quad. How was the balcony space? Was the sofa closest to the balcony? Thanks for any information and if you have pics, I would love to see. Thanks in advance.

Bed is near the door and the veranda is huge! Very large walk in shower with glass door, allowed granddaughter and myself to dress at the same time. I t was "intimate" with 4 but, will have plenty of room for two. Enjoy.

  5. We are booked on the Nov. 2nd TA on the Prinsendam. Booked online with HAL and It just occured to me that I was never asked what table size we would like to be seated at. Should I call the Mariner number and get it set up? Or, since it is a continuation of a longer European cruise, will we simply be assigned where they can fit us in?

  6. Yes they do. A funny story from our Alaska cruise in June. We took our 12yo twin grandsons and, like all tween boys, they need a fair bit of calming down frequently. Well, we head into the Sat. vigil Mass and the priest asks them if they are altar servers. When they replied in the affirmative, he asked them to come up and serve. Mass begins and there they stand with hands prayerfullu folded, fingers pointing to heaven and faces dutifully solemn. " Oh would you look at those angels" I hear all around me, as I stood there with my mouth hanging open. Good Catholic school training.

  7. We were on the June 25 southbound cruise on the Noordam with our two 12yo grandsons. We had a completely different experience. There were a fair number of children (kids loved club HAL) but they never seemed to be running wild and unattended. Not sure what the Lido looked like at dinner, but the MDR was always full and the kids all seemed to be dressed approprietly. Better than some of the adults actually.
