Well, I may regret having let that cat out of the bag if I ever want to go back! With that said, the Flor & Fjare ticket gets you the boat ride (right from the cruise ship pier at Stavanger) along with a tour of the gardens with your language group, lunch, and more personal tour time.
You pay once for the whole trip after lunch (not ahead of time). You will be shocked at how nice the restaurant is on the inside as well as the flowers on the outside. If the cruise ships ever get their hands on this, the price will triple. But it is family owned and operated so I have a feeling that national pride will keep that from happening.
/thanks for the quick response, however the cost of $508.00 for the 4 of us is out of our range. That must be some lunch.

David, I would love to book this excursion. Can you tell me how far is it from the ship to the departure point. I assume it is walking distance. Thanks

We are excited to be trying the Koningsdam this Sunday, and will share our thoughts on a "live" thread (depending on internet quality.)
We are boarding on the 17th, when you are debarking I think. will be reading any tips and descripitons you post.

Pat, there appears to be box seats over the lido pool area. Are these just for certain people, rentable?

The drawers probably take 1/3 of the space under the bed. The advantage for you will be 1 drawer has bedding for the extra beds. That should be empty for you. 4 in the cabin will be really tight, especially with the sofa open.
Thanks for the heads up. 2/3 of the space should be okay. I'm sure the steward puts the linens back during the day so, that drawer will remain unuseable. The grands are both 12 so we will probably close up the sofa when we get up.

Thanks for the report. We will be taking this trip in July. Do the drawers at the foot of the bed cut down significantly cut down on the under bed storage space for luggage? We have a quad cabin for us and two grandchildren so, a fair bit of luggage.

We were on the Massdam in March. Eggs benny were available on the port side. However, the choice was between the classic and a different variety each day.

You might want to consider the Viking River cruise on the Mekong. We absolutely loved this trip. Begins in Hanoi for two nights, flys to Siam Reap for three nights, bus to lovely river boat for seven nights and then Saigong for two nights. A perfect trip.

We are sailing on the "K" in July and have a quad veranda suite (7109). Have never tried this before but, we are taking two grands and it seemed easier. Will report back on how it works out. Was somewhat surprised to learn that the bunk bed was over the Queen instead of the sofa. Will probably ask the steward to make up the bed upside down to feel less claustrophobic.

We are taking two grands on a 14 day Norway cruise this summer. i knew we would need the unlimited laundry service so, I just called sips services. i told the young lady that I wanted to pre order the service as I had been told that it would be cheaper then waiting till we board. She replied that "no, the price is the same and it will be $98." Well a quick calculation told me that was $7/day. So, I said that since i had her on the line I would like to pre order the service. Done! Do you think the girls in the office don"t know about the increase in Europe?

We are taking two grands on a Europian cruise this summer. They are 11 and 12. When the parents asked about the dress suggestions I said that for gala nights it would be the same as going to a wedding and the rest would be how they would dress them for a family dinner in a somewhat nice restaurant. Right or wrong?

To be honest for the Koningsdam you are far better off with 4 passengers in a Vista Suite than you would be with the Signature Suite even though the bathroom is smaller with one less sink. The day bed and queen bed take up so much space and a very small sapce. That cabin is mostly dressing room area and bathroom. And YES Every single cabin on the Koningsdam that accommodates 4 or more passengers there is an Upper Berth above the Queen Bed. In the past with Signature Suite they ONLY accommodated 3 passengers because there was no upper berth above the queen bed, that did change on the Koningsdam.
OMG! We have a veranda quad booked this summer with two grands, ages 11 and 12. Never imagined that the upper bunk would be over our bed. How does the kid get into it? if they need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night , do they step on us? How low over us are they, will we bump our heads when we sit up? Getting a very anxious feeling about this.

Just finished a 50 day cruise on the maasdam Dec. 19 and found her in excellent condition.
We were on deck 10 stateroom 059 and our only issue the whole cruise were a few nights leaving and returning ft lauderdale with an overly warm cabin. Fortunately we had reserved a fan so it muted possible discomfort.
Easily this was our best cruise ever. Relax, enjoy her, you will return home with a smile.
Am wondering how one goes about reserving a fan. We will be on the Maasdam 3/29 and, and as someone who is always overly warm, a fan sounds like a great idea.

We were with you in the lobby of the Marriott on Jan.3. We were trying to check out and spent a long time in the wrong line before we discovered it was the check in line. No sign or explanation anywhere in a very small lobby. Hotel is wonderful however.

We were also on this cruise with two kids (grands) age 11 and 12. This was a rather port intensive cruise, only 4 sea days out of 14. Our kids really liked Club Hal. Since it was summer holiday time there were a goodly number of kids in the tween club. They also really enjoyed the pool every afternoon.
