  1. On a recent Radiance cruise, from Galveston Texas, we chose to do the airport shuttle. Fine... but they asked if our flight was "after" 1pm, even though we were supposed to meet up at 8:15am. It happened to be our flight was at 1:05pm. Just make sure that if your flight is earlier now, that you'll have enough time to take care of your luggage and getting through security.
  2. As much as I "like" Chops", I love Giovanni's more. Yes to multiple appetizers but you're usually so full. We share one a lot of the time which is easier for us. Also, I much prefer the Filet of Beef in Giovanni's; their Barolo sauce is so good.
  3. Not sure the speciality restaurants on port days. It's usually only on sea days I believe. And, definitely worth it for Teppanyaki 😋
  4. Yes, you can eat there for your boarding day lunch. I make a list of which restaurant I'd like to go to and the times. While I have lunch, I give my list to the maitre'd and they usually take care of my reservations for that sailing.
  5. Back in 2019, we had done b2b Ovation OTS, for a 19 night from Hawaii to Sydney, AU and then another 9 nights around New Zealand for our 30th anniversary. I could have stayed on for more but hubby was itching to get off; the ship that is 😂.
  6. I've never tried to use the safe deposit boxes onboard myself but I have used the gym/fitness lockers. You need to get the key from the fitness/spa desk. You give them your seapass card and they give you a key. When you're done, you give key and they return your card. With that being said, I've used the room's safe many times and have never had an issue.
  7. Hi there. We are not on this sailing but rather on the October 30th sailing from Rome to Dubai. Would love to hear how you both liked the ship when you return. Appreciate any little tips and tricks while onboard. Thanks and happy cruising.
  8. I'm on Radiance OTS for an upcoming sailing on 02/27. I just got my concierge letter and gave her my restaurant choices and dining times. Done. One less thing to rush around and do. Enjoy your cruise.
  9. If your a Celebrity member, the points will automatically transfer over to your equivalent status. https://www.celebritycruises.com/mx/captains-club/exclusive-offers/loyalty-reciprocity-program
  10. I did an 8 nighter and a TA on Jewel in March and April of 22 and loved them both. I also did a Panama Canal cruise in October of 22 and imho, the Jewel was a better ship for me. A bit cleaner with more staff it seems cleaning. A little more friendlier staff and the food was better. Not that I had a bad time at all on Serenade; it was just different. In your photo, it looks like a younger gentleman so if he's going with you, I'd say the Jewel because there seemed to be more kids his age.
  11. So, I switched my TA sailing over to Jewel and couldn't be happier. They've a great sauna/steam facility that I've used before recently on 2 seperate sailing.
  12. Good to know; thanks for the updated information.
  13. Yeah, I've heard that too. Actually had a cruise scheduled and transferred it to a ship that does have facilities. We need to update our list again. And Jim, FYI, I used to live in Olcott LOL. Bye's Popcorn, Van Horn Mansion.
  14. Question you might be able to answer. I'll be in a Concierge Class stateroom and definitely want to go to Eden, understanding that the reservations are super hard to come by. Does the concierge class host contact us prior to sailings? Can I get a reservation through them? I ask because the husband hates getting on the ship early 😴😴 😴 and I'm thinking of going on without him LOL. Thanks if you or someone has this answer. Loving your postings.
  15. Good day all. Just wondering if any fellow family members are cruising with us out of Galveston, Texas? Booked with another couple but they had to cancel which they are not happy about. Alas...... Hoping to meet others onboard this sailing. Cheers.
  16. When you book a Celebrity on RC, you get 1 year to pick your cruise and still get the benefits of the extra onboard savings. With RC, you get 2 months to decide to get the benefits. You can still book with RC until the 1 year mark but the extra benefits go away after that 2 month mark.
  17. I was on a recent Serenade cruise and when that cruise finished we were going to hit Pinnacle at 701 points. They had a certificate already waiting for us and congratulating us on hitting that status and gave us benefits on that cruising. Shocked but pleasantly surprised. Good luck.
  18. Same thing but backwards; I left the luggage at the terminal and walked over to get my car. Drove back only to find that the area we/he was waiting in was for drop-offs only and he was supposed to move 3 bags with his cane. He didn't move, I picked him up where we started but not without the policeman yelling that I was in the wrong area.
  19. Thanks for your perspective. I'll be on the Edge in October doing the Suez Canal cruise from Rome to Dubai.
  20. I was just on a recent RC cruise and the Odyssey was docked in terminal 18. However, the parking was over by terminal 21. Doesn't sound like a problem but I had to walk through 2 different parking lots to get back to the ship. Thankfully, I had dropped off luggage and passenger beforehand.
  21. I'm currently in a Concierge Class cabin on deck 11. My original cabin was an oceanview but have since been upgraded.
