  1. I'll be on Valiant Lady in October and I'm a first time Virgin cruiser; Pinnacle on RC. I would assume the same above recommendations and suggestions are true for this ship too? I also like to eat early, 5:30pm or so; is it difficult to obtain reservations for dinner at that time? Thanks all for your insider tips.
  2. As always, thank you Biker.
  3. So, ETIAS is going to be required for an upcoming cruise to Singapore and surrounding countries starting in 2024. Do we still need to have a VISA also to enter these countries?
  4. I've really never saved that much money to make it worth it.
  5. You go up; you come down. If I had to pay for it, that would be a definite "no". As it was free, I tried it. Next !!!
  6. So, I've never had a Visa before when entering countries so and somewhat confused. If I get a "required" Visa for my upcoming Spectrum OTS cruise in February 2024, from Singapore visiting Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, can I only get 1 Visa or do I need one from each country we're visiting?
  7. We just finished up an 8 nighter on Jewel around Norway and most of your stops. Great time, beautiful scenery and superb staff. Have fun.
  8. Yes, well about 1 year ago and it is a fantastic sauna and steam room. Love that ship and it's right in my backyard.
  9. Just off a TA in April on Jewel OTS and yes, a special was provided. Not a huge savings but it was available.
  10. This is taken from RC's website as I too am going on 2 cruises from Singapore in February 2024. I'll be visiting 2 Vietnam countries and it states I do need a Visa and that it is our responsibility to procure one. I've cut out some portions of the actual but you can go to their frequently asked question regarding Visas. What should I consider when booking a cruise visiting international ports? A Given the events over the last few years, having the proper travel documents has been a considerable concern of many guests prior to enjoying a carefree vacation. Passport, visa and inoculation regulations may vary by destination and may change from time to time. For your protection, your passport expiration date needs to be at least six (6) months after the sailing termination date. It is the sole responsibility of the guest to obtain and have available when necessary the appropriate valid travel and health documents such as passports, visas, vaccination certificates, etc., that are necessary for air travel, disembarkation at the various ports of call and re-entry into the appropriate country of origin. Visa Based on nationality, many countries still require an entry visa. It is the guests' responsibility to identify and to obtain all the necessary visas before commencing their cruise. If your sailing includes a stop in Egypt, a visa is required for many nationalities including US and Canadian citizens, but may not be the only visa required for these sailings based on your nationality. Suggestions on where to obtain visa information: (1) U.S. Citizens can visit the U.S. Department of State Foreign Entry Requirements. (2) Canadian citizens can visit Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. (3) The Embassies (Consular Service Office) of each country on your sailing itinerary (4) The visa service of your choice, such as CIBT for specific visa requirements, information, forms and fees that apply to your nationality VisaCentral a CIBT Company website: http://www.visacentral.com/royalcaribbean toll free telephone: 1.800.858.8579 email: customerservice@visacentral.com Consecutive Sailings Guests on consecutive sailings must ensure they have the proper travel documents for their entire cruise vacation. For Cambodia and Vietnam All nationalities require visas for Vietnam with the following exceptions: Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. All nationalities require visas for Cambodia with the following exceptions: Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Laos. Please Note: The following nationalities will find it extremely difficult to secure a visa for Vietnam and Cambodia, whether through us or by themselves; Pakistan, North Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq and Nigeria.
  11. I've done it many times. I drop off early, go to the rental car drop off location and Uber it back to the port. Works out just fine for me.
  12. I did try calling actually and was told that they couldn't see the offer either.
  13. Have they been doing that? I've not see it with my recent RC sailings; ever. I've done many since the pandemic lifted its ban and not one of them didn't have it offered. Any reasons you might know of as to "why"? Thanks.
  14. So, my cruise on Jewel, a TA from Amsterdam to Bayonne, NJ, still does not have the UDP in it's pre cruise Dining Packages. At 97 days before sailing, I would have thought I'd see it by now. I'm assuming they're adjusting prices before they put it on the website to purchase? It's a 17 Night Arctic Circle Cruise if that matters.
  15. I like the way you think....😂 Thanks.
  16. You've all given me some great insight into V's world; thank you. As a morning coffee drinker, very early I might add, are there early morning areas to get good coffee? I usually get up around 5am every day and the only thing available was in the Diamond Lounge or Concierge Lounge to get coffee. As I understand, these don't exist on Virgin so.....are their coffee shops open that early or is there a big urn of coffee that was brewed 2 hours ago like RC's Windjammer Cafe provides (which I know that V doesn't have)? I'm rather underwhelmed with V's website and trying to get information there.
  17. Hello there. So, I just booked my first Virgin cruise last night and it'll be on the Valiant Lady on 10/22/2023. I'm currently a Pinnacle Member on RC and am trying to see what that really means when it transfers over. It says I'll be "Sea Rover" automatically and I'll get "Deep Blue Extras" but I understand that the "deep blue" finished up in March 2023. Does anyone have any experience with this so that I can better prepare for my upcoming cruise. Thank you.
  18. I agree; go to the website and put in your dates to see what is available. Keep in mind too that final payments have to be made 3 months out (90 days) so there might be more rooms open due to cancellations or rebookings.
  19. There usually is a test of some sort at the end. I didn't see anything; was there one that I might have missed? Thanks.
