Just got off the Voyager TA in May and the following two cruises. The ship is in great shape. The biggest challenge for this ship is the rather small gym. It didn’t bother me, but the wife was not impressed. The FlowRider was good, and there fore I used the balcony every day to dry my gear. 😆 On the TA we had a larger aft balcony and we used the balcony every night to watch the stars. The problem with the aft balconies on this particular ship is the oily soot that sometimes gets on the balcony, but we loved our evenings watching the skies. On the following two cruises we didn’t have a good sky view and used the balcony less. JC

I like how you turn a 110 million dollar event into a 450 million dollar event. Kind of a convenient way to make a non factual fact even more non factual. I don’t believe they have declared this dividend for the other 3/4 of a year yet. How much does one new build cost? How does that compare to a 110 million dollar event. O, I know it is a very small event comparatively. Why does someone who made great money never buying this particular stock enjoy so much talking about this stock? Thinks that make one go hmmm, and wonder what is wrong with some people. 🤪 jc

Yes, life’s self proclaimed winners is back! Woohoo, congrats, everyone else is a loser, but we have at least one winner in this life. Why do you post on this thread other than that? 😆 jc<——— thought he was a winner until this thread convinced him otherwise!🤣

Will Celebrity Zeniths get Pinnacle pins?

Like the new Pins on our recent B2B2B Voyager. The “old” Pins seemed to resist playing with them. Quite funny, from a lowly D+ perspective. -
Celebrity X Ships Most Similar to RCI Ships?
xpcdoojk replied to LEMJMcC's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Biker is correct. If you like Oasis, that probably means you like things like the aqua theatre, ice skating shows, slides and the FlowRider. X (aka Celebrity) has zero of these things. Agree the Radiance and Millenium class ships are pretty much the same, the other RCI ships bare little resemblance to X. jc -

Another thread, I just read about the WJ, reminded me of the horrible behavior of passengers on the TA portion of the cruise. I typically eat lots of meats and starches in WJ, or my preferred buy painful line of fresh stir fry. After I tend to go find fruit instead of dessert. One day in the middle of the Atlantic they were serving fresh papaya…. (Sorry if I mentioned this previous, but it really amazed me)… there were passengers scooping entire plates full of it. I buy papayas occassionally, and I am always a bit cautious about exactly what I bought. My experience is that less than half of the papayas in my grocery stores are actually good to eat, most are a bit ugh… So, I am watching the plates of food going off one after another, while I wait. Not wanting to throw a plate of papaya in the trash, I took a couple of small slices. Sure enough, ugh. People are stupid. Not meaning to stereotype, but the ones taking platefuls all looked somewhat similar. Sorry lord bless the pygmies in New Guinea. jc -
Glad you liked it. We have lots of great restaurants around here. We fight way above our level in that area. We have a biz buddy staying with us for the fourth coming up with his wife, and of course, my customer friend is now interested in entertaining us. (Remember we are retired and can’t help either of them any more). I invited them both for fireworks on the 5th at our lake cabin (nephew does an insane amount of fireworks, our neighbor who is a CPA and his business is accounting for festivals), does a burning bear fire bonfire (play on burning man… we burned a stuffed bear the first time) while the fireworks go nuts, and of course, my customer is insisting they take us in their cruiser to Big Cedar Lodge for lunch, then back to our place and I will cook dinner. Big Cedar is Johnny Morris’s fancy resort on the lake about 30 miles from our house. (JM is the sole owner of Bass Pro Shops). Life is weird when you retire. Took my Airstream to the dealer to fix the fairly long list of piddly things that broke during the January to April trip. I showed up and the guy I have been working with looked at me with a why are you hear look. Apparently, there was a cyber attack on on of the car/rv/boat dealerships software Wednesday, and they basically can’t do anything. Good thing I don’t need the AS until August 15. We are at the lake and our cruising friends Sue and Shelby theoretically are coming over tomorrow for a boat ride…. Sue has been freaking out since last year at this time when Shelby who is 78 almost 79 about died from heat exhaustion. I got called on the Friday late before the fourth to take Sue to the hospital in Branson because Shelby was passed out and the ambulance was taking him. We ended up getting to the hospital about 45 minutes before the ambulance. Lord I apologize bless the Pygmies in New Guinea (Larry the cable guy, who I walked with at Big Cedar several years ago during the pro-am. Good guy) She has had him locked down since last summer…. So maybe after his ablation surgery to fix his abnormal rhythms she will let him out to play again. Shelby is a super fit marathon running machine (or he was prior to last year). Life is weird. jc

Got to clean the boat too. So many chores so little time to do them all. This is the price paid for being “home” for less than a month this year. Rodrhi started going nuts about 6AM barking and wanting out. So, I let him out the back door, and I could hear something rubbing against the sun room, Rodrhi, knew he was supposed to save us. Turns out it was a large box turtle dragging against the wood siding. Rodrhi about tore the fence down trying to get at it. Hopefully, we can get out on the water, weather is perfect today supposed to be a high of 80 with sunny skies. JC -

I surfed til about 10AM, we were just past the last tender ticket when we got on the tender. We got to the line for the cable car which lasted for about an hour, we talked to Dimi (from the sports staff and his wife Chrissy (or something close to that), she is the lovely little ice dancer who comes out at the end with the emperor card and gets tossed about by the dance captain in the show. Got to the top, wandered thru the familiar little streets on top. Eventually ended up in a restaurant, where we talked to an Australian couple we met earlier in the cruise in the crown lounge. Had a 1/2 carafe each of the house white (Krystal) and the house red (me). We didn’t finish either. Had a shared salad, some calamari which was fresh, but was under fried to Krystal’s liking. It was, also, the parts of the calamari which we generally don’t get served anywhere but Santorini. IE the head and those part, that are not the rings or the tails. It was a nice restaurant, but it put K off on Calamari the rest of the trip!🤣 After we took the donkey path down because the line at the top was longer than the line to the top. Since the cars hold 6 people, I can’t remember if there were 5 or 6 going up and down at the same time, but regardless that is max 30 or 36 people per trip. Each trip takes a few minutes. We took the donkey path. I am pretty sure I posted some pix of the donkeys! We were there until like 10PM. I am pretty sure we didn’t watch sail away, although I was up for sail in. 😜 Went to KC today for the funeral. After talking to the kids and sobbing the whole time, we gave our friends wife a hug and all I could say was so sad. We decided we didn’t need to stay for the whole thing. They were going to their home for the wake, that would have been a mess for us, as we used to stay with them when we would come up for a concert or a plethora of Chiefs games over the years. He and I went to the Masters for a week in 2010 (the infamous Tiger wreck year). We went to NASCAR races, Indy car races. Played a lot of golf, listened to a lot of loud rock and roll music, drank to much together, including one time when we went on a float trip, where I was trashed by midnight and he the professional kept going till way later. Then the bus ride with a bunch of hung over dudes, where I am thinking I am going to throw up. Getting to the spring fed river (IE about 60F) and his fat a$$ in the front and me in the back and literally turning over on the first paddle stroke. Only reason I finished the float trip, as it sobered me up instantly. So many memories, and the large chapel was full of people I sort of knew and ones I knew about, we bailed quick, as I couldn’t stomach the thought of chatting with these people, as the only people I wanted to chat with were the family and they were carrying a heavy load. My friend was larger than life, and I missed him so. JC -

I just noticed a $14 credit on my Amex card from unused OBC. I had prepaid tips and tours. I figured I was just going to lose that tiny credit. JC -

I am leaning towards, going to the visitation at 11AM… 3 hour drive. Maybe the funeral, but not the Wake. I would like to do the full Irish, but the dog (Rodrhi) has been in a kennel or in a strange environment for over a month, and I hate to do that again to the poor little monster. I looked at hotels, but there are not a lot of good options since LQ got swallowed by Wyndham, most of the good options after that, are full major hotels with an additional 100 to 200 a night charge for having a monster in your room. Plus I hate funerals. -

So, that is pretty much all of the pictures that need to tell the story.... If you have questions, shoot away. If you have comments even better. It was a great trip. Although, I do think that 33 days on a cruise ship is a bit wearing. IE things become a lot less special. That said, I would happily start again tomorrow. Especially, if Scotty could beam me on the ship and not make me fly back! jc -

It is a completely different color and views on the Ionic sea islands it appears. I would like to visit next door Ithaca too. I loved the Odyssey when I was young and all of the mythology. Fiskardo village and harbor pix. Loved this little spot. Note the picture of the catamaran sticking out behind a couple of dinghies. That is the failed parking attempt. By the time I got where I could film the debacle they had given up and pulled out. 🤣 It is so hard to be a dutiful shooping husband while something actually interesting is happening! -

Cephalonia, Greece. I think I love this island. Our RCI tour went to a cave, after which we had Lemon honey cake. Then we went to a boat tour in a cave that had a roof collapse. Then we grabbed a slice of pizza and a vegetarian pastry for lunch, again for OB. -

Thanks funeral and Irish wake Saturday. I think we are going if we can get someone to watch the dog, it is in KC a few hour drive. Have never been to an Irish wake, and I am not sure I could drive home after or not imbibe while at. I hate funerals. -

Crete looks a lot like Santorini and Mykonos from a climate / green look, but feels completely different as it is not crowded! Pix from the lake the monastery. -

Crete, Greece. Posting these photos of the lake, it is almost impossible to see the lake in the pictures even though it is very much there. Very pretty. -
