  1. Much better information here. 😉 Although to expect a ship to not do the TP and then do the Honolulu to Vancouver sailing seems way too optimistic to me.😂 If we both actually do the Ovation from Honolulu on April 29, I will buy you a drink. Let us know what the April 8th itinerary is when they let you know. I am desperate for that information. 😘 jc
  2. I mentioned I was booked on the Celebrity TP. The other Celebrity TP is the Edge, it leaves 11 days later and does an itinerary, I have done multiple times. The Solstice itinerary is mostly unique to me. Hence why I am foregoing a FlowRider ship and replacing it with a better itinerary and a drink package.😂
  3. This makes way more sense than even Jimbo’s answer.🤣 I guess I need to back up 9 days from the first Alaska Quantum sailing to seen when it is leaving Hawaii, that I am going to be force onto, and then look at the date I am going to getting off the last scheduled Quantum sailing. I am pretty sure that this is not qoing to get me to Vancouver and on the Celebrity ship, so, I am guessing I will lose the Ovation sailing, because I want to spend time in Hawaii at end of the cruise, and the Celebrity sailing is 5 days after the last Quantum sailing, and I am planning on spending 5 days driving from Brisbane to Sydney. Not to mention 17 days without a FlowRider and a drink package could ruin my health. I don’t like it, but it confirms my own fears. 😂 jc
  4. Ok, so I am not booked on the Celebrity Solstice, departing Brisbane to Honolulu? I have a reservation number, and I can see it in the cruise planner, and I can buy a drink package, but not booked. 🤣 So, far I am going with Jimbo’s answer. 🤣
  5. I am booked on Celebrity for the TP in April 2025, there are two ships that are supposed to be downunder, the Quantum and the Ovation. I am booked on the Quantum, but it has no TP activity, for April, but it is in Alaska in May. How does it get from the South Pacific to Alaska, nothing for sail. I booked the Ovation from Hawaii to Vancouver at the end of April, but it is now not showing, nor is the TP that I decided I liked the Celebrity itinerary better. What’s is going on with those two ships. My Ovation Roll Call think the sailing is cancelled, but I don’t think anyone knows. It still shows in my cruise planner. jc
  6. Sailed out of San Pedro about 20 miles south of LAX near Long Beach on the Mariner in 2010. If you are sailing on a weekend not a big deal. Kind of a cool sail away, Played at Trump National Golf course a few years later just west of the port. Crazy golf course on a cliff overlooking the Pacific. I played like crap. Still a great memory.
  7. We dove in Australia at Heron Island on the GBR and there were 3 Mantas, at a minimum of 20+ feet wing span circling around us. truly amazing. I tried to get the DW to snorkel there a few days later but a small thunderstorm popped up on our excursion and it went to Hades. No mantas, and I am lucky to be here telling you the story!🤣
  8. Hi LB, when I saw the screen with only 10 Pins, I knew you would win! Congrats. I have us booked for 3 months next year From Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney and Honolulu. You should have an awesome time!!!! Your friend ———— jc————hopefully we will sail together some day
  9. That is some big waves. have fun!!!! 🤣 I remember coming out of the Straits of Magellan and we had odd beds that were perpendicular to the ship and I got tossed out of the bed onto the floor when we hit the pacific. I remember the Lido pool flooded the Lido buffet on the HAL ship during that event.
  10. Coati, I have seen them in the hundreds in Costa Rica at the Westin and in singles quite large in Costa Rica at the Volcano area. We saw a few on the decks in Argentina side of the falls. I think they are like raccoons in NA
  11. Way more beautiful and impressive, haven’t been to Victoria, but I can’t imagine they are better. The falls in South America go on and on. It is not just one set of falls they are across a wide area, and are stacked on top of each other. They cover a very large area. jc
  12. Yep, naked eye they are white, when you take a picture they are a rainbow of color. Our eyes can’t account for them as each moment is a snapshot, the camera is slower view, hence more color.
  13. We visited Tromsko, Norway in 2019 in early February. Lovely show. Cold as hades. Yikes, not sure I have ever been colder.
  14. Iquazu is a couple of plane flights from either Rio or Buenos Aires. I am pretty certain. We flew from Rio to São Paulo to get to the falls 18 years ago. I imagine much the same from BA. Not a major hub, very small towns out in the hinterland. You have to try to go there.
  15. I remember that view as we spent two days there on our HAL cruise. A mile thru containers to get to the streets.
  16. We are on our own world cruise… in the Airstream, tonight in Twiltley Branch…. Lovely spot on a lake in Mississippi…. Not quite the same as you. 🤣
  17. Don’t settle for 3, ask for at least 10, and if you get 8 it is an absolute win!
  18. So, I like to keep this always a happy thread, but I have some sad news, but if you want to know what it is go to John’s thread in Floataway. RIP OWD. jc
  19. We really enjoyed our two day trip to Iguazu in 2005 pre cruise on our own before our HAL around the Horn cruise. Flew from Rio to São Paulo, then to the Argentine side of the falls, stayed at the hotel there. Had a private tour guide who picked us up at the airport then to hotel. Did the boat the drove up to the edge of the falls, we all got wet, we were not liked by our French compatriots on the boat because they didn’t want to get wet. We walked the decks on the Argentine side til, a park ranger told us to get off them because the Jaguars come out at night and eat tourists. Had dinner went to bed next day they tour guide picked us up and took, us to the Brazilian side where we walked the decks that are below the falls. All spectacular. Went back to the airport after a trip to a tourist shop. Flew back to Rio, met our English friends at the hotel. Took of the next afternoon on the cruise. The next day went to Montenegro, where I started suffering from bad allergies. By the second day in Buenos Aires, our private tour guide took me to a pharmacy where I got some drugs that cured me before we got to the Falklands. I doubt I spent a thousand for K and I for all of that. 🤣 Of course, that was 18+ years ago.
  20. We have a B2B2B on the Voyager for 33 nights starting May 1. Then in 2025, we have Bella, (not sure we will actually go) and a pile in February from Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney and Honolulu…. If we do all of that we will be out of the country for almost 3 months. Have NRD on those unlike Bella, so probably doing those. Of course we leave on our 90+ days in the Airstream either Wednesday or Thursday. Hooking it up and hauling it to our home from our lake house this afternoon.
  21. I would sign up for the north to south navigation of the poles on an Oasis class ship. When can we start booking? I am going to start a Tik Tok account to share this happy moment!!!! Maroons jc
