  1. Who'da thought you'd have a To-Do List on your vacation - I think it's great you volunteered to get info for all of these things. Since asking, I did find out that the "festival" I was asking about is a beach party at Snorkel Park that happens on the Wed and Thurs the BA is docked.

Definitely something the 20+'somethings in our group will probably take advantage of. And their 50+ something parents have every intention of meandering along (if only for a little while), but we'll see how that goes

You can scratch that one off your list.. unless you plan to go, then you can give us a first hand account.

Anything else you asked???? Yes...HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! We willl be watching you sail away tomorrow, and of course your arrival on Wed morning. We need to know which direction you'll be docking! :D

    Happy Sails,

    Vicki

  2. In my little neck of the NY woods.. most schools go right to that last week in June. Albeit not full days, and for the higher grades they'll be taking finals and such, but ever since I was a kid waaaaaaaay back when.. our school year always began the Wed after Labor Day, until the last full week of June, and it's pretty much the same now. We used up so many snow days this year with all of our blizzards and storms that we went over the allotted amount, and now have a few extra full days tacked on that might have otherwise not taken them right to the very last Friday of June.

But it's safe to say... Schools Out for Summah!

  3. I hope it docks port side today just to mix it up - it's probably predicted that it will dock starboard today as that's been the pattern so far; two ports, then one starboard. Also, that's how the Dawn docked, which also seems to be a pattern the BA is following.

If there truly is a pattern... then predicting for the upcoming weeks, we'll be docked starboard and I don't wanna be docked starboard! Ok.. that was my pre-coffee rant for the day :p

  4. The evening party is at Snorkel Park- which turns into Club Aqua at night:

Thank you, I believe that must be what the reviewer was referring to - as with previous cruises, my plan is to be out and about late.. dancing the night away. Then reality happens around 11pm when my head hits the pillow :o I'm much too young to feel this damn old

  5. Any info on the street festival that happens in the vicinity of the Dockyard - not to be confused with Harbour Nights in Hamilton. This is something that happens right at/near the dockyard area... late on Wed night??? Last week someone mentioned something in their review, but the details were vague as they did not attend. I believe they said it was from 11p-3a; any info would be great.. thanks.

PS - HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME - will be watching your sailaway and arrival in Bermuda!!! :D

  6. 46 more wake-ups!!!

I see it's port side again for both - love when the camera zooms in when the ships are turning... like right now!:D

So we've had, port- port- starboard- port- port. We'll see if a pattern develops. I'm still hoping for the rare, but not unheard of, aft to aft docking.

  7. We heard there would be a party that night at the dockyard from 11:00pm-3:00am, cover charge, but halved for cruisers to I think $5.00. My partying days are long past, so we did not go! LOL!

Passing that info on to the 20'somethings in the family... we have the late seating for Rock of Ages that night - sounds like something fun to do afterwards.

Enjoying your review, thanks for sharing :)

  8. These were the complaints from the Breakaway's first year as well. The May reviews were great, everyone loved everything - then June came, and little negatives began.. and by July.. the sky had fallen, no one could get a lounge chair unless they slept in it from the night before.. tiny balconies... layout of ship isn't good.. not enough pools..not enough elevators (that's nuts), and terrible smoke from casino. Other than adding more chairs they can't really do much with the other stuff, accept maybe better ventilation in the casino area.

By the time these reviews began rolling in, we were already booked, and now we're leaving in 7 weeks.. in JULY

But all kidding aside, I'm curious as the weeks roll on and the sailings become more crowded, and school ends, and the ration of adult:kids begin to multiply before our very eyes, if they have listened to the complaints of the previous June-Aug season and tried to fix, or at least tweak that which can be corrected.
