  1. You can get eggs to order in the MDR as well, however you have to ask for anything but scrambled to ensure they saw the inside of a shell.
  2. We did a short hop Los Angeles to Ensenada in 2005 on RCCL either a 3 or 4 nighter. Of course that tends to be the booze cruise crowd. We had tshirts and shorts and flip flops in the MDR for dinner. I guess it all comes down to: 1. What line 2. How many nights 3. What destinations 4. What time of year We did a RCCL in 2005 to Mexican Riviera 7 nights and people did formal nights then, however as soon as dinner was over they rushed to their staterooms to change out of that to jeans and polos. So much for formal night.
  3. First time cruising after Covid shut down and trying to stay healthy and safe at the same time. I see on my app my Solstice cruise to Alaska the main dining room is open breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have the select choice (?) dining where we just show up. When cruises restarted, they were doing Holland America style where the staff serve you. They were doing this precovid and added a touch of service and class. Has Celebrity returned to guest serving themselves at the buffet? Having lived in Vegas I remember handles falling into the food and other grossness I won't go into.
  4. Day time I assume I can get away on board with polo knit pull over shirts and jeans or shorts? The same in the MDR for breakfast and lunch?
  5. I think this is just life. People don't dress like they used to. You see shorts in first class and kid you not shower caps and fuzzy slippers in all classes. People don't dress up for overnight trains, personally I will not wear shorts in the diner for dinner, that is just the way I was brought up. You see shorts and t shirts in church now. While I am happy to see people attending, I refuse to wear shorts to church. I grew up in a day when you wore a three piece suit to church in Houston with 98 degrees 98%. People don't dress up for the opera, symphony, or theater anymore. I have gone to a nice Japanese Steak House in Hollywood up ontop of the hills an people were in shorts and t-shirt.
  6. I know asking this is going to open pandora's box as it is a very heated discussion but hear me out. I suffer from Social Anxiety Disorder, so I am serious asking this for a reason. Evening Chic for men is pants or designer jeans with a dress shirt button down shirt or sweater with optional sports coat or blazer. I do not own designer jeans nor sports coat or blazer and have no opportunity to wear them on land. I take this to men for me then slacks and dress shirt or slacks and button up sports shirts that button all the way and tucked in. The other nights are for men pants or jeans with a short sleeve sport shirt I take that to mean nice clean blue Levi's with no holes rips or stains and short sleeve sports shirts. Am I correct on this? Hopefully it means no having to go buy new clothes.
  7. Will it allow me to check in on the app and then later on finish up with passport uploads vax card uploads etc. Don't want to lose my place for early boarding. I am sure just because I am C1 doesn't gurantee me 11:30 AM boarding.
  8. And is it 12:01 AM Monday morning I can check in or do I have to wait until 4 PM Port Time to check in which is our sail time.
  9. Is it me being forgetful what I saw or as we get closer to the cruise is the daily activities getting updated?
  10. We can check in starting on Monday. I've read about photos being needed. The other traveler is out of town and I have their passport and Vax card. Can I check us both in and then go in later to add the missing information like photos?
  11. According to the APP it is day one of my upcoming cruise.
  12. However we don't know if the marijuana was medicinal. Either way no smoking means no smoking.
  13. That is what I was interested in was the production shows. How are they? Some lines they are pretty bad.
  14. This is my first time on X. In the main theater, what are the evening shows like and usually what time(s)? Nothing in the app showing, yet and we sail on 2 Sept.
  15. Just looked at the app and every night we meet at 6 PM at the World Class Bar.
  16. This made me research on the app to find out what areas to avoid "Designated outdoor areas are Dec 5 forward port, Mast Bar and Sunset Bar" At least they no longer have a cloud room meaning one of the indoor bars.
  17. Works for an airline. Fortunately, he presets everything in the living room the night before.
  18. Although we did make a faux pax years ago. We were on Princess and attended a Friends of Dorothy meeting with our drinks, then we started to go out of curiosity the same way to a Friends of Bill W. Meeting. Thank goodness we asked at GS what that group was before we really screwed up. We never heard of Bill W.
  19. Well I do plan to attend the 6 PM nightly LGBT Meet and Greet. That is a start I suppose. That runs until 7 PM so aiming for 715 dinner and assume they will have us out by 8:15. By that point DH will be ready to turn in.
  20. I my early September cruise approaches I am starting to get realization of what evenings will be like for me. DH who is normally up at 3:15 AM to get ready to leave for work at 4 AM and home at 3 PM often falls asleep by 7:30 PM. He cannot differentiate work time and vacation time as he has had this schedule for 27 years. This leaves me on my own in the evenings while he is back in the room sawing logs, bless his heart as we say in the south. Am I going to be the only one "painting the town red" in this situation? I see cruise evenings as doing what you normally don't do at home: latish dinner, shows, nights on the town, etc. I just don't want people gawking at me (social anxiety here) sitting in a corner of a lounge sipping on my adult beverage alone.
  21. With the increased numbers of people testing positive, what happens if our precruise test one of us tests positive preventing them from going and the other negative? Do we get any refund for the one that couldn't go? We do have the cruiseline insurance.
  22. He did lose the case. One must read the fine print.
