Wow-I missed that. Disappointing for us as we prefer BB King.

What a wonderful journey you’ve had so far. Been a lot of fun reading your entries and seeing your fantastic photos.

Really appreciate your honesty in this. I felt guilty not taking my elderly mother on a “last” cruise but knew her dementia would not make for a pleasant time for her or me. Thank you for your post.

Looks like you’re already having a wonderful time. Enjoying your pictures! We saw the ship just as we were flying into Montreal yesterday to finally see our daughter and grandkids. I told my husband we need to do this cruise next year and tie it in with a visit.

Yes, my Grandpa was one of them! I’ve always wanted to go to Holland but unfortunately have never made it and doubt I will.

There’s a lot of Dutch in Canada! (my grandparents were Dutch)

@Copper10-8 From what I gather it hasn’t improved but depends on time of day. Toronto is just as bad as well.

Although CATSA says 5-10 minute waits, those are not accurate as it doesn’t include check in with air lines luggage etc. Would appreciate if you get a chance later to let me know your experience. Thank you.

@Alphen just wondering how the lineups were at the airport for check in and security at YVR? We’ve heard long wait times.

There seems to have been a lot of issues with Flight Ease these past few months. Certainly makes one wonder what is going on and can they be trusted with bookings any more. We will certainly think twice about whether we use them on our next cruise. Glad your situation worked out. Have a wonderful holiday and cruise!

We had friends from Philidelphia cruise up to Vancouver who wanted to do a whale watching excursion but the weather didn’t cooperate and the company had to cancel it. So glad you had a nice day for your bike tour. It’s hit or miss our weather lately that’s for sure. Although the 2 resident bears woke up recently up Grouse mountain, it still has snow but the Grouse Grind is now open. It’s annoying the cruise lines changing requirements on such short notice. Have a wonderful time!

Totally agree. A lot of people don’t think or decide not to purchase out of Province insurance.

I forgot to say although we don’t have any pre-existing conditions we do add on the 7 day look back pre-existing. Yes, it costs more but not that much and as seniors we never know what might come up. It can be exhausting checking out insurance and coverages. We have Blue Cross as our extended coverage so usually go with them.

We purchase a yearly coverage with Blue Cross. It depends on how many trips you do but for us it was better doing the yearly as we will fly more often now to see grandkids. We bought the 30 day per trip coverage but if longer we can top up.

I’m glad Celebrity did the right thing. Still was very stressful for you and your husband. Thank you for updating. I am actually relieved we cancelled our 50 day cruise. Just wasn’t worth the stress and worry.

I can totally understand how your husband would be emotionally drained. We took our son on a week cruise after his cancer treatments to relax and recover (years ago now) and that is what a cruise should be. Not filled with anxiety and stress. It was no walk in the park for you either.

@bananavan just wanted to pipe in to thank you so much for your posts. I’ve followed along but didn’t like to comment. It’s interesting to read what you went through and I’m glad you’re home safe now. We had a 50 day cruise booked for this Fall and have cancelled it. Just not worth it to us to chance it.
