  1. Wow-those are amazing in Quebec City. Love all the photos-wish we’d be there before Oct 10 but sadly won’t be. Very interesting, thanks for posting.
  2. So true. I didn’t do my homework enough (hadn’t found this site yet) and did a Pacific Coastal in an aft. Big whoops…was very rough 🤦‍♀️ Mr Bear said never again-I’m just lucky he will still cruise after that adventure! I had a blast-him, not so much.
  3. He was younger then so bounced back thankfully. But now, he was told no more hockey (not by me, by a doctor). He’s not happy about being told that & wants a 2nd opinion, sigh. I can see why your husband’s doctor told him that. Sounds very painful what he’s going through. Hope he can find comfort soon. Hope you get your email confirmation soon and the credit back soon as well.
  4. So sorry about your husband and having to cancel your cruise. Glad you’ve got ahold of HAL now and cancelled. We’ve never had to cancel using the Platinum insurance but from what I’ve read from others the refund to your credit card should be within 7-10 business days. Years ago we had an Alaska cruise booked and I told my husband not to play hockey that morning…well he did & got hurt. Thankfully we had time to get him to the chiropractor which helped a lot & we live close to the port so made the cruise. I was not a happy camper when he came home, lol.
  5. Check with your concierge if they do a welcome in the Neptune lounge as they’ll go over all your perks. It’s usually in the evening (was in the past) and includes free glasses of wine etc. It’s a good presentation for anyone new to the Neptune Suites. Definitely do breakfast in the Pinnacle (included) but check the hours. Also double check as mimosas used to be included at breakfast there (they were last time we were in a Neptune for 2 weeks before the pandemic hit). The reason I say double check is because one server wanted my card & I asked why-she thought I’d have to pay. She checked and it’s included. I hope you love your aft suite! As much as I love afts, the only one we did my husband got sick so can’t book those anymore. Mid ship for us, darn. Have a wonderful cruise!
  6. Yes it is within walking distance. We actually picked up a 2 hour bus tour at the dock first which included the Curacao factory as well as other sights. Dropped off back at dock and we walked around over the bridge in the town. Not sure how many hours you’re there but it’s also pretty at night. We have been there several times off a ship and usually snorkel depending how long we are in port.
  7. Finally-well that’s good!! It’s funny because I actually do try fish when cruising which annoys my husband sometimes as he catches salmon, cod, halibut etc but I tell him I want to compare!
  8. Welcome back to our beautiful city of Vancouver. We kept the nice weather for your arrival! Safe travels home.
  9. How disappointing about your fish n chips experience. I’m spoiled as my husband fishes here on the west coast & cooks fish n chips once in awhile as a treat. Also disappointing to read the meals on the ship-two out of seven edible meals is not good, sigh. Glad your morning eggs were finally cooked properly!
  10. @*Miss G* great videos! I miss cruising to Alaska-hubby is tired of it. Thank you for letting us come along with you!
  11. I’ll be following along! Especially interested in your experience at Toronto airport. We’ve only flown YVR to Calgary then Montreal twice in last couple of months avoiding Toronto. We also use WJ but haven’t used our companion ticket yet. We haven’t ventured outside Canada yet. We had considered a cruise and to fly from Montreal to Florida at Christmas but decided against it. We love cruises to the ABC’s! Have a wonderful time. Looking forward to your posts (and photos?)
  12. Welcome to our beautiful Vancouver-we have great weather for you! Will certainly be following along as we were supposed to be on the 50 day South Pacific with you but had to cancel. Have a wonderful time!
  13. Although we haven’t done your flights we’ve done Vancouver Calgary Montreal (once in June & once in August). I chose flights that did NOT connect in Toronto on purpose. We had no issues with a 1 hour layover in Calgary getting our luggage, thankfully. I’m not sure if Toronto has improved but hopefully with your 1 1/2 hour layover it “should” be ok.
  14. Unfortunately we had to cancel our 50 day cruise which would be later this month. But I’m looking at early 2024. We had been booked with Mermaid but of course cancelled when we cancelled the cruise. They’ll be contacted again for sure. They were excellent to deal with by email. Thanks again for all your valuable info you share.
  15. @Petoonya If you are on a cruise which doesn’t stop at Bora Bora but overnights in Moorea, can you get to Bora Bora fairly easy to do a snorkel excursion?
  16. Glad you wrote it up, maybe that helped? Mr Bear doesn’t drink & I’ve never liked the “champagne” they put in our suite. It was a few years before I knew I could trade it for wine. I enjoy a glass on my balcony. I do remember on our last cruise before the pandemic we were asked if we wanted our fruit basket replenished and if so to let them know. Normally we didn’t bother as we’d grab something from the Neptune lounge while I was grabbing my latte.
  17. Maybe they wouldn’t allow the trade during pandemic. I know the last cruise we did (way back in December 2019) we were allowed to trade in the Neptune lounge. Thanks for the update! Appreciate you asking. Good news 😁
  18. Well that’s a disappointment. We’ve given it away before too so guess we will do that again if anyone wants it. Shows how cheap it is when they’ll exchange for water or sodas. Thanks for the heads up.
  19. Really enjoying your posts and photos. We love our home port in Vancouver. We have always traded the “champagne” for wine-is that still allowed, do you know?
  20. We’ve had the same experience on different ships. Yes, I remember that day chatting with you at turn around day. Was our last 2 week cruise as well. Still not ready to hop on a ship but I sure miss it.
  21. Have really enjoyed your posts. Funny you’re looking forward to your non moving bed-I sleep like a baby on the ships especially when it’s rocking! Safe travels home!
  22. I’ve enjoyed getting it. I pass it on as well for others to enjoy. Another cut back I guess.
