  1. More times than not we have found easy air to be cheaper. Pay attention to the class seats you’re getting prices for. Easy air rarely quotes prices for “basic economy” but airline sites almost always do quite that rate first then offer “economy” for additional cost which is usually higher than EA in my experiences. Basic economy will not include seat choice, carryon or checked bags where as economy will give you the first two and a checked bag for most overseas travel. Also keep in mind EA flights fall under your princes protection cancel for any reason insurance that you can purchase for your voyage. Since almost all economy tickets are non refundable that could be huge if you have to cancel.
  2. Nice job with the Live from thread. We really enjoyed the comedian and look forward to his next show tomorrow night. We left his 7:30pm show and had a great time at the MUTS watching the remake of Death on the Nile. Was a wonderful night up top and very good movie. Hate I didn’t get to talk with more at the M&G after the officers talked a bit. Did meet a wonderful couple there from Washington state and had a great time talking about some of our favorite travel experiences including cruising and land based travel. Before I knew it most people had left the adagio.
  3. We will be on this voyage as well and just arrived in Fort Lauderdale this evening. Have a safe trip down. See you onboard in a couple days.
  4. In reading the entire info section at the link I provided the homeland security site clearly states that Nexus is for entering the USA from Canada only while the TSA pre check (think pre-boarding screening) is included for any USA flights when passing through security prior to a flight. That’s all I can say about that. I think we may be saying the same thing. Anyone with Nexus pass can enter quickly when coming into the USA from Canada and does allow for using the Global Entry lane at the airport in that instance. Flying into the USA from any other country under a Nexus pass does not qualify for Global Entry. Here’s the link again: https://ttp.dhs.gov/
  5. No I’m afraid it does not include Global Entry per the gov website. It only includes entry from Canada and “May” include TSA pre-check. Here is a link to the page that explains it. https://ttp.dhs.gov
  6. I’ve read posts here by many saying they deleted and reinstalled the app after having issues with it and the problem then disappeared. Might be worth trying that. Yes once the voyage is within a few weeks of sailing you’ll be able to make dinner reservations etc on it but much of the info isn’t available until after boarding. To do your checklist for screening and other things like selecting the medallion etc you will want to use the app however you can also access a web version of the app from your cruise personalizer until you get the app working.
  7. You could order coffee in the morning with breakfast at no additional cost but who knows if that’s still the case. It was made with syrup.
  8. I think the issue(s) that has drawn so much discussion and frustration is not just this but also the lose of the ability for an elite passengers to trade their bar startup for a pair of the cards. On a lengthy voyage most couples will have taken a loss in both areas. This is after the too many to count hits in so many other loyalty related benefits beginning even before covid. And finally more broadly the way the change was implemented was just pathetic. It is safe to say we all want Carnival/Princess to survive but that doesn’t mean we have to like or agree with all of the decisions being made. It’s a bit hard to believe the company is in good hands and leadership understands how important customer relations is to a company so dependent on customer loyalty. Basic communications related to changes like this one is not rocket science and could go a long way to getting support for what’s needed to manage their way through this without leaving passengers to try to figure out what the heck is really going on. There are millions being spent on communicating goals, strategies, efforts and forecast to lenders and large stock holders but when was the last time any such communications have been directed to customers who are critical to meeting those goals? Instead the cancellation of the coffee card program simply disappeared. Everyone who used them were left in the dark and came here to ask others if they knew what was going on and ending up asking those onboard to ask the crew what is going one because no one at the 800# could tell us and nothing on the Princess site told us diddly. The truth is there is STILL no official word on what has occurred, only many anecdotal tidbits of info has been gathered from ship crews and passengers experiences which differ to this day from ship to ship.
  9. This is a very common practice for Princess and other cruise lines. It’s their way of trying to fill the ships before sailing and has been the practice for years. The closer to the sail date the more likely to add it to the list of last minute bargains. Go and enjoy your voyage and don’t let it ruin your vacation.
  10. That’s one reason I don’t care to have one either. I’ve used them in office situations and elsewhere on occasion and couldn’t get away from the plastics smell and taste. And yes the waste and cost is also a factor. To me there’s no comparison to the quality taste of fresh grounds in a traditional expresso style machine. Until they’re banded we will have an Italian Pavoni home unit and a Bunn pot style when I don’t want to use the Pavoni
  11. The taste difference might be due to the lack of traces of melted plastic you’ve gotten used to not being in the fresh made cups from the IC. Just saying…
  12. Okay thanks. Hopefully someone will jump in with a schedule that sometimes floats around on these boards.
  13. Not sure if these are failed attempts to read my mind, indirect pokes at someone who posted previously about disliking something about the Island or simply cute replies. In any case thanks for attempting to answer my questions. I don’t believe I’ve ever complained about the Island and was merely curious after reading she may be going into dry dock next summer.
  14. I found a schedule on this board but it was from 2021 and outdated. There are a couple posters who visit here that have access to such info. Perhaps they’ll ‘sail’ by.
  15. Does anyone know where to find the latest dry dock schedule for Princess ships? I’m specifically interested in when the Island is set to be in for maintenance. It would be great to learn of any large maintenance or improvements planned for her also but that’s probably asking too much. Lol
  16. This brings back some wonderful memories of our visit to Egypt and Jordan several years ago. Very nice thank you! Did I understand correctly that nearly 1000 of you toured Petra from the ship? You must have been broken into smaller groups at the site as is typically done, right? How large were the groups? Could I ask approximately how much time was it from your arriving at the site in the buses until loading up for the return to the ship?
  17. We’ve sworn we would never sailing on the Ruby again. It’s probably only a coincidence but the two times we sailed on her we both got awful stomach sickness and couldn’t leave our cabin for a few days. As I said it’s probably only coincidence but why tempt fate. Lol. Never had any digestive system issues on any of our other Princess voyages on 10 other ships.
  18. I’m pretty confident their system will show the history of your booking including original cost and promos assigned etc and they’ll eventually get the appropriate person to correct the fare. You’re almost certainly not the only one who has this surprise waiting to be discovered. Their system was down for maintenance Saturday and much of Sunday per a notice I read Saturday. Good luck.
  19. Actually it’s at oceanplayersclub.com I believe.
  20. They may turn out to be too bright for us also as we haven’t sailed since they were installed. We’ll find out in April.
  21. I’ve read post by some in the recent “live from” threads saying it had happened on their voyage. Can’t recall if they personally had it happen or if it was someone onboard they knew. We have two pre-purchased cards for our upcoming voyage in about 4 weeks and yes we also planned to exchange our bar setup for two more. It’s an 18 voyage and there are 3 of us traveling so we expected to need them all. I will not be a ‘happy camper’ if they are not honored but expect they probably won’t based on what I’ve read here.
  22. Yeah we like a nightlight also if staying in a cabin or hotel room.
  23. Okay thanks. I’m not surprised given where we stand elsewhere with respect to coffee cards.
  24. Great to hear. I don’t recall Steamers. Is it part of the updated Lido deck you mentioned? What is it and where?
