  1. You will have no issue walking off. I made two 10:30 flight from FLL from the Miami cruise port this year with plenty of time to spare and Your drive is 29 min shorter.
  2. I have made flights as early as 10:15 with no issues. I think 9:40 can be done but you need to really hustle. The ships usually start allowing walk offs between 7=715 but it is dependent on customs being ready. With no hold ups you should be able to walk off and get through customs before 8. Cab ride to FLL is 15 min or less so that gets you there’s by 8:15 or earlier. At FLL security can take 30 min. Remember a 9:40 flight today starts boarding by 9:10 and they usually close the door well before 9:40. Clearly you need to walk off but there will be hundreds of others as well. You need to get down and line up early. So you can be one of the first off.
  3. We have done this several times. The car rental companies will take you to the ship but I would drive to the port drop my luggage with the porters and then go turn your car in. This way you only have your carry on to take on the car rental shuttle. Also remember those car rentals are by the day. If you go over 24 hours they may charge you for another day.
  4. Easy solution. Since your original plan would have been to return to the airport to get a rental car just return to the airport and take a shuttle to Port C. Once in port C you can walk or take Ubers where you need to go. We have used Coco Beach Shuttle in the past. They are pretty good but there is others.
  5. Has anyone taken AmTrack out of Ft Lauderdale? If so how long does it take to get to station and get on a train? Is security long etc?
  6. I will second using SAS transportation. It was $15 in the spring and they are great. You may have to catch a cab to Fll for their pick up
  7. Thanks. Royal was offering those in both April and June but they don’t offer the all included fair either.
  8. I think everyone has it covered. Try the Celebrity you will like it. We have taken 17 cruises on 4 lines with 6 on Royal and 5 on Celebrity. My wife likes Celebrity better and I like the Oasis class on Royal. We enjoy all of them. My only regret is I am 28 points from Diamond and the other cruises are slowing me down from my goal.
  9. Looking at a cruise on the Beyond in 2023 and trying to decide on the all included deal. Does Celebrity offer first day deals on buying the drink package? I know on Royal or at least the last 3 I have taken they offered a buy 1 drink package get 1 at 50% off.
  10. Sorry to hear about your issues. Both the internet and movie issue might be related to mid Atlantic Sat coverage. I have been on 3 cruises in the last 12 months and every ship was under staffed especially bartenders. Maybe they lost some staff before the transatlantic and replacement crew won’t arrive until Florida? As for your room if this late day is a first maybe your cabin attendant is sick or something?
  11. We use one of these on every cruise and have a 2 usb block that plugs into 1 outlet.
  12. I believe The International Pier now can handle 4 ships. That said I looked up our November cruise and Royal has 5 ships that day but only 1 other ship in port. I wonder if the 5th ship goes.
  13. If money is not an issue Aqua has nice perks. Blue is a smaller dinning room just for Blue. It has great service and the menu is a little different than the MDR. That said if you want something off the MDR menu that will get it for you. The Edge class ships are really nice.
  14. I went to the link and submitted a PDF Copy of my 100 shares of stock. The credit was on my planner when I checked about 3+weeks later. Pretty simple process.
  15. As reported on here Captain Kate moved to the Edge before Covid. She was Captain of the Edge when the shutdown occurred and she stayed with the crew of the Edge during shutdown much longer than the normal 3 or 4 -month Captain rotation. Ship was down to about 100 crew when she left. From there she had time off and was announced as the first Captain of the Beyond and went to a France for the last 3-4 months of construction as they build a crew and take over the ship followed by the first cruises. Since Captains split time and rotate with another Captain it would seem she would be off now and return to the Beyond later this year. I doubt she moves to the next Edge class and will probably stay on the Beyond for a while but then again who knows. She is very popular with cruisers.
  16. I have seen where the ship and private excursion companies offer the Geoff’s Cay trip. Looking at the one offered by Shore Excursioneer.com Has anybody been to Geoff’s or taken this Excursion ?
  17. That is one reason to use a good travel agent. Let them handle the issues.
  18. We did a similar excursion on Moby Dick Tours years ago. The Rays were fun but actually I liked the snorkel afterwards. It was a little deeper area and the rays were swimming below with fish. Water was crystal clear.
  19. Some of you might say it is not a good value right now but in the $40's it is still over $45 per share less than what it was most on this spring. I purchased $100 at $31 and have made a nice profit but really i am looking forward to using my first credit in November.
  20. I have been on 3 cruises on Royal in the last 10 months. Enjoyed each of them but cruising post covid for now is just not the same as before. The cruise lines are all short of staff and have supply shortages. I can live with this for now. Ship internet is usually just not that fast but it is better than nothing. As for main dinning room portions yes they are small but you do realize you can ask for more. Ask for an extra shrimp cocktail. At Johnny Rockets while you have to pay things like onion rings are bottomless. Ask for more. All of that said maybe you should try another line. I would suggest Celebrity but have enjoyed NCL in the past. The Edge Class is really nice. I plan to sail on NCL again because we loved the Escape but right now I am working to get to Diamond on aroyal.
  21. I think the key is walking off and taking a private shuttle if you are early. That said sometimes thinks go wrong. A few years back we tried for a 10:30 flight. I thought we had our bases covered. Private shuttle lined up to pick us up at 8am. The problem was the Freedom of the Seas was down on power and late getting to port. We could not get off until around 9. We got to Mco about 10. No chance to make the flight. The good news is we got the next flight on standby. I would try for 11am or later but like the other guy said 10am is possible if you like to take chances.
  22. I have read sone interesting stories about him. He actually spends all but a few weeks per year on ships. Changes ships periodically. Seems like he has a condo in Miami or Ft Lauderdale so he usually cruises from those ports. He can do his finance job from the ship. I had read he books his cruises far in advance to get the best rates. He might have the most points but there is others like him that choose to just live on a ship. That life would not be for me but a guy like him who has cruised so long probably has hundred of frequent cruiser friends and people he knows are on every cruise.
