  1. Thanks, that is a similar program to the one I was thinking about. The other one you sent your luggage directly to the airline and never saw the bag again until you got home. This one does help a bit getting thru the Vancouver airport. Sure hope the weather holds up for the next couple of weeks, forecast is mostly shows with 60% chance of rain almost daily. I know it changes rapidly but in 30+ cruise to Alaska I have had great weather almost every time even with similar forecasts. Negative is most of my cruises have been in the May/June time frame
  2. I like booking an inside aft on Aloha. You are very close to the open aft deck and just below the buffet. Aft elevators are usually less busy than miship and forward ones
  3. I'm like you and love the aft interior cabins on Aloha. Being just steps from the aft open deck is liking having your own balcony. Can you let me know if they have I think they call it Luggage Direct when you get off in Vancouver? This is the program where you pay extra cost and they take your luggage from the ship and you then claim it when you arrive at your final home airport.
  4. It looks great but the price is crazy high. I also looked at the 17 day from Seattle and price is high also
  5. I've done this B2B about 10 times and am not worried about making the cutoff as I have 600+ days. I'm just not thrilled with the cocktail party. Last year on the Grand we had a nice luncheon both North and South
  6. Can you tell me if the Most Traveled is a luncheon or a cocktail party? I much prefer the lunch. #'s to attend?
  7. Still a long way to go. I sailed on the Pacific Princess official 50th Princess Anniversary cruise. Thread reached 205 pages before CC shut it down for being too big. Part 2 reached 80 pages As far as I know 285 pages is the record. FYI it was a fantastic cruise with the entire Love Boat cast onboard for two weeks
  8. So if I order room service from my stateroom TV is it only the $5 delivery charge?
  9. Princess should not be able to make changes on voyages purchased prior to the new policy. This is not what I purchased when I gave them my money. The new policy should go into effect ONLY for cruises booked after the notification of changes. Then we can make a choice of Princess, another cruise line or just stay at home. Doesn't seem fair.
  10. I am a long time Princess cruiser (64 cruises 640 days) and like all of you very unhappy. I sail in about 10 days and was looking forward to Alfredo's and lot of times I choose a ship that has it. $15 for a pizza I sure don't like plus now a room service charge. I'm basically a 4X Elite and all they seem to do is take away perks and never add any. Maybe no that can give back room service and pizza as an Elite perk. Or at least add a higher Elite tier with some of these included. I don't drink so there is no benefit for me to buy a package. I always tip the crew and purchase the internet ( what happened to my unlimited free?) Why should I have to pay for stuff I won't use? Will see how this all effects me in 10 days
  11. I like mid June for the longest daylight hours. I love being out on deck in the evening twilight
  12. Just missed you. I get on when you get off. This is also one of my favorite ships. Will be reading your updates as I would like to hear where you dock etc in Skagway
  13. I love the Grand. Have sailed her 11 times, the last time in June 2022 for a B2B Alaska. She is still in fine shape and I would sail her again in a heartbeat
  14. I keep hoping Princess will add Seward and Kodiak as stops. Would be easy to make a 10 day. route
  15. I'm on the early Jan Emerald sailing and would be happy to help spend it.🙂 Otherwise splurge on some shore excursions and cash out in the casino.
  16. Be sure to be out on deck for the sailaway from Whittier. IMHO the first couple of hours are some of the best on the trip but lots of people miss it because they are tired from getting to the ship. I will be on the Sapphire in Aug doing a B2B.
  17. If you want just a flight try Mountain Flying based in Haines. I have done several flights with Paul out of Skagway including a great flight over Glacier Bay. We even landed in a mountain pass overlooking the bay, but this is a rare event.
  18. Try booking with Chilkoot. There bus/train combo gives you more variety of scenery. They do a great job and you will be with a small group instead of the crowds from the ship
  19. I have gone with Adventure Bound about 6 times and all have been fantastic. Highly recommended, I hope to do again this Aug
  20. There is a nice little museum in the hotel/store in Whittier. Not much else to see
  21. Who do I need to talk to about an EZ Air refund? I booked airfare for an Alaska cruise out of Vancouver for a cost of about $850. Cruise was paid in full for this amount. After final pay I changed EZ Air flights to another city for a price about $350 and it showed a $500 credit due. Several days before sailing I had to cancel cruise for health issues. I applied for a refund and they processed based on the lower airfare amount of $350. How do I get a refund/credit for the extra $500 in airfare I paid?
  22. 20+ years ago College Fjord was one of my favorite spots. Not so now that so many glaciers have retreated and the ships don't seem to get anywhere close to the glaciers any more
