  1. If you check the version you would have received when you made the original booking, is the same language in there as well? Curious, as there is nothing similar in the UK terms so wondering if this is a website issue as this sort of language disappeared from most cruise lines some time ago…
  2. Personally I'd start with the credit card route, if that hasn't already hit the time-limit for a claim, as it is likely to be the quickest and easiest path to a refund....
  3. This sort of thing is why I asked, but I agree, I can't see any reason why this claim should not succeed. It almost feels like the agent on the phone only understood the 'denied boarding' route and not the alternative 'cancellation' route which the OP used.
  4. Hopefully not an issue, but did the doctor administer their own test before issuing the letter, or was it issued on the basis of the 'home test'?
  5. The only thing that can sometimes cause a delay is if there is a more detailed clearance process for the ship itself, due to the previous cruise visiting ports like Colombia, but if it is just one of the shorter Caribbean island cruises then you should be fine.
  6. Ignore the time you are given, just turn up around 10:30 or so and you'll go straight onboard. Last month, we left our hotel in the Brickell area around 10:25 from memory and we were onboard and in the YC lounge about 30 mins later ... The magnificent 'Pepe' met us right after security and had us onboard in record time, I'd hope your experience would be similar.
  7. Yes, that is exactly how it works. Typically just two or at most three languages though in my experience, and it wasn't really a problem.
  8. As the OP is from Denmark, probably better to use the Danish link above rather than a USA link...
  9. You should find everything you need here: https://www.msccruises.dk/manage-booking/special-needs

Probably best as ask about your specific concerns as the general answer is the same as any other departure point, you need to meet the requirements to enter the country and re-enter if it is a round trip cruise and you need to get to the port one way or another...
  11. The aim is to make it easier for your servers to know what the status of each table is as it can affect water as well as other soft/alcoholic drinks service. As Jamie mentioned a few posts up, once onboard you are unlikely to have an issue getting people assigned to the same table.
  12. That post was over 8 months ago though, so I imagine they have been updated since then...
  13. I do suspect it is driven by the demographics, so it can change with each cruise rather than by departure port.
  14. Then check again in the period between final payment and sailing as the restrictions will sometimes get removed, especially as you get closer to sailing. I do understand that this feels 'unfair' but it is following very real revenue maximisation principles.
  15. We got off Divina 2 weeks ago, no wristbands.
  16. Although that is in the rules I've never heard of it being enforced... No, that would be abuse of your single package and the bar staff can see how many people in your cabin has a package, one package per adult required if you both want to have your drinks covered.
  17. Starlink yes, but the standard wifi package for YC is the Browse, not the Stream, so it is good but you will not have the most unrestricted package. No wristbands. There is shade in the bar/buffet area of the pool deck. Stores tend to be closed in port to avoid local sales tax issues, some bars may not open if there are a lot of people off the ship and the speciality venues do not tend to open for lunch either, but the YC restaurant will be open at lunch time as usual.
  18. With the terms MSC introduced around 'no shows' on embarkation day and their right to forfeit the 2nd passengers fare and still charge a supplement on the remaining passenger, I would be careful about using a 'ghost' passenger to get around the limitation. Not much sign of them actually using those rights yet, but the risk is there, so no cause for complaint if it actually happens...
  19. Platinum should get Gold as well...
  20. Glad it all went well for you. The situation you faced was in some ways similar to the ESTA issue that visitors to the US face when on round-trip sailings out of US ports, the boarding processing has no concern with how you got to the country in the first place, they are concerned about bringing you back into the country at the end of the cruise. So that leaves people traveling to the US to board a ship having to provide proof of their ESTA approval when boarding even though it is never actually needed by CBP as they have the electronic record.

Yes, it was entirely our option, they apologised and offered the alternative and slightly more expensive city tour for the same price. We could have simply accepted a refund on the one we had booked if we wished.

We did a city tour, but not the one I posted earlier in this thread as that was cancelled the night before we disembarked, but they moved us to the other city tour. We were happy with it as it included an early stop in Little Havana for coffee and restroom break then moved on to the Bayside Mall for a longer lunch break before heading for the airport. They got us there by about 1:15pm which given the queues for security worked quite well for our flight which began boarding shortly after 4pm.
  23. Consider it an upgraded promise, you are heading for 50 countries now 🙂
  24. Anything from smart casual to a Tux. MSC is not Cunard in this respect, so expect a wide range...
  25. Yes, it is 2 devices each, we each connected our phones and our tablets a couple of weeks ago.
