I agree with the others about layers for Norway. As long as you have a waterproof top layer you can put layers underneath. I had thin long underwear that kept me warm that I put under my water resistant travel pants. My Brooks waterproof tennis shoes were great. I will wear them at home too so not a bad purchase. If you don’t plan on lots of walking you will not need a lot if waterproof clothing. An umbrella to get you on and off a bus is all you need.

I just got off NS and thought my bed on deck 10 was very comfortable. Not hard and not to soft. I did not care for the pillows as I am used to memory foam at home. I am so lucky that I did not have rude people to contend with and felt the staff was very friendly. I have cruised on most of the mainstream cruise lines (including Carnival) and they are way more similar than not. I now choose for itinerary over line and HAL won out on the next two I have booked.

Good morning, @RMLincoln I feel your pain. My identity was stolen through an IRS link on the financial aid application form 5 years ago which the hackers got into the IRS data and got my info. They applied for my SS, unemployment ( I was still working) and hacked into financial institutions. Luckily for me minimal money was involved but the hassle of changing things, canceling and dealing with SS and unemployment was a pain. I know my information is out there and I have a monitoring company I pay for tracking things. I hope for a speedy recovery for you and it is as painless as possible. I just got off NS and all I got was yoga mat and teak shower mat. (Which I liked). I was close to spa which I liked as I had a pass. The balcony is very shallow and I had to sit sideways at an angle to use the foot rest. I would book again due to convenient location to spa, deck 10 seating and easy walk to lido etc.

Good morning, Thanks for the Daily. I visited the D Day memorial on my Norway cruise. It was humbling to stand on the beaches and think of those brave men fighting for our freedom. No gardening for me today. It is already too hot to plant and most of the nurseries are out of plants or have a few stragglers. I put one pot of flowers in the front garden that gets automatically watered by the sprinklers. That will have to do until next year. Off to the dentist today. Prayers for all and have a great day.

I am the op and I am glad you had a good experience. I was 3 for 3 for bad table. I said no on the 3rd one and was abruptly sat and had lightening fast service. 5 couples came on after me and were not offered the less desirable table. I did write it up while on the cruise on the Navigator app and expressed my dissatisfaction. The maitre d in club orange came and apologized for the specialty restaurant as I said not to contact me on the app. I just wanted them to know about it to make corrections. It’s nice to know they read your comments

I am back to report on my first solo cruise. It ended up being a great cruise. I am glad I was active on the roll call and met up with 2 great couples for a before the cruise for a walking tour and dinner. It gave me instant friends. I am not going to lie and say it was all great. There were times I was a bit lonely but I pushed myself to go out and at least walk around the ship. Doing that I met another really nice couple who sat in loungers up on deck 10 right as I exit my hall. CO helped a lot. I ate alone for the first few days until I saw another solo diner who ate about the same time I did and asked if she would like to join me. We ended up eating several meals together. There were times I wanted to eat alone and did so with no problems. I felt specialty dining as solo was hit or miss. They seemed to give me a less desirable table and rushed me through. I did a mixture of private and HAL excursions. I felt safe on both. My cabin steward always checked up on me if he did not see me get back on the ship. He was great. I will not hesitate to cruise alone again. I really feel this helped me move forward even though I would have preferred to have cruised with my DH I know he was there with me in spirit.,

Good morning, It will be another hot day here in Kansas I took Molly for a walk/drag around the park before it gets too hot. She is on another walk refusal phase so I need to push her to move. She has some quirks. Sandi the soccer story is so sad for both boys. I sure hope they can save his teeth. I am still dragging, I did 3 covid tests and all are negative. There was lots of coughing on the cruise so I am glad I escaped getting sick. I need to admit I am out of shape and make myself move so I can be in shape for the next cruise. Shore excursions are stopping to pop up for the Grand Australian on the HAL site. I need to get a spreadsheet going so I can see what I already have booked privately. Good Sunday morning, We have a beautiful morning and I am enjoying reading the daily on the front porch with DGS. Sandi, I agree your DS is loving on those baddies in heaven. Prayers for those on our care list and others in need. I have a funny story to tell. A new young woman (30’s) and her daughter moved in our mainly over 60+ neighborhood. Great for DGS as he has someone to play with. She is a body builder and had just worked out when she came outside to get her daughter. I never saw so many (men) in my neighborhood working in their front lawns. Have a great day!

Good morning, Thanks for the daily. I would enjoy todays meal choice if someone made it for me. I celebrated world bicycle day with DGS when he rode his bike to the park this morning before it gets to hot. We are in for more hot weather today. We had a pop up rain storm that had the sun shining through the whole time last night. DGS and I tried to find a rainbow but had no luck. So sad to hear about people losing their pets. They love us unconditionally. Prayers for those in need. Happy sailing and welcome home to our travelers.

I found indoor food areas crowded but other places not so much. I found quiet places to sit and read. Cold weather cruises makes the inside busy. I was surprised more people did not eat in MDR. This was my 3rd cruise since start up and on those sailings the buffet was dead at night. Maybe cold weather caused people to rethink changing to go to MDR or cruise mix is the reason.

Good morning all, lots of posts early this morning. Thanks to all who keep this going. I am slowly getting back to normal. Funny how no jet leg on the way over but dragging now that I am home. It will be a beautiful day here and I am meeting my friend who lost her son today for lunch. There were be lots of tears on both of our parts I am sure. I went to ALDIs yesterday for groceries. I was again surprised how cheap it is. I still have to pick up a few things that they don’t have or I don’t like at another store. The important thing is I filled the snack shelf in the pantry for the grands. They both commented on the lack of selection when they came on Tuesday. Prayers and well wishes to all!

Safe travels

I made it home safe and sound. After my sprint to the airport I had a smooth flight. Check in at the Amsterdam airport was fast and efficient. I got in the wrong passport line but it ended up taking no longer than the correct one. The lounge for United was closed so I used the time to walk around and spend some extra euros I had. I was a bit shocked when we took a bus to the airplane and had to climb stairs into the plane. I did ask for assistance with my carry on bag as my hand is not the best and I needed the other one for holding on to the rail. Customs in DC was incredibly fast with my global entry. I timed myself and it took 33 minutes from departing the plane until I was in the Polaris lounge. Re entry into the real world has been tough. I was up early yesterday, unpacked and laundry done by 9 AM and have been dragging ever since. It was a great trip and one I can see myself doing again in the future. Safe travels!

Good morning from a rainy Kansas. I got to see the DGK’s yesterday and share the loot I picked up for them. Molly came home with them and has been by my side ever since. I tripped over her and scared her so she will be more careful. I did unpack and do laundry yesterday but did not grocery shop and I am regretting that decision with the rain. I am slowly catching up on the daily and I am sad to see the health challenges people have had and are still going through. Prayers for all. I like todays quote and will pass on the meal. I enjoyed the port pictures and may make it there one day.
