  1. Looking forward to reading all of your posts. I hope that you have a super cruise.
  2. There are numerous posts confirming NCL's acceptance of the Switch Health proctored test. For example:
  3. Your port of entry will always be the first Canadian port that you visit after leaving and then returning to Canada. For the cruise in question, the only Canadian port after visiting the US is Vancouver, and that is your port of entry.
  4. The change to the CDC requirement will go into effect for US-bound air travellers at midnight on Sunday according to CNN: https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/10/politics/us-to-end-pre-departure-testing-requirement/index.html This will make travel so much easier for everyone flying to the US.
  5. If this is a regular shopping run, the company should be able to tell you what bridge the driver will take. In this case, you could finalize your information and make your submission from home within 72 hours or your scheduled entry. On the other hand, if it's a decision left to the driver when shopping is finished and you start back towards Ottawa, ask the driver and then finalize your information before submitting. You'll get your receipt in plenty of time. If the driver makes a change in port of entry after you have already made your submission, just enter the revised information and resubmit: If you need to edit your information and have an ArriveCAN receipt, you need to start over and create a new submission. ArriveCAN will clear your previous information. https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/services/arrivecan.html#change
  6. Please do! Earlier this week, we booked our first river cruise - on Scenic - and I'm very interested in reading a first-hand travelog.
  7. If you haven't already done so, try doing a dummy entry. Input actual data such as your passport and vaccination information, as the app will retain it for any future submissions. For the trip information, input the details for your shopping trip, but enter a date just a couple of days from when you try this trial run. Once you have input all the information, you needn't take the last step of actually submitting it. I think you'll find it quite easy, but if you do run into problems, you can come back here for help. Much better to try it now, knowing that you have lots of time before your trip to resolve any issues.
  8. Check with your service provider. I'm not aware of any cell phones sold and supported in the US that won't work here. The same applies to phone purchased in Canada and used in the US. Most US providers provide free or inexpensive roaming in Canada.
  9. There's no need to submit your information from within the US. You can submit it at any time within 72 hours of your time of arrival and do so from your home in Ottawa if you so choose. You can use your desktop if you want and print out your receipt, or you can use your mobile phone and use the receipt received there. As ArriveCAN is linked to your passport, you probably won't need to show your paper or e-receipt, as the CBSA officer will see you submission when scanning your passport. Each of you will have to make a separate submission, unless accompanying a family member.
  10. Ignore this, it doesn't apply to you. This is for truckers or others who regularly enter on essential business, not for tourists.
  11. I'm late in responding, but I see you worked it out on your own. As you say, you are good to go!
  12. @elmsliebev, my apologies for a totally off-base reply in my earlier post. I somehow switched from a thread dealing with NEXUS renewal applications and ended up reading your post, missing the fact that it was an eTA application being reviewed. Unfortunately, I can't help you on this topic. Again, apologies for my very misleading post. Hopefully someone with eTA experience can help you out.
  13. I think I'd prefer to get there early and sit at the gate with a good book instead of arriving later and standing in line for security. Either way, depending on where you are flying to, you spend more time at the airport than you do flying!
  14. DW and I both had our renewals approved with no interview. From what I've been able to determine, any change in personal information can trigger the requirement for an interview. So if you change jobs, retire, run afoul of the law, change your name, etc., etc., this could result in the need for an interview. Whether this also applies to the review process I don't know.
  15. Hi @Italy52! The biodata that you previously input for your dummy submission will still be there. You will just need to input your new trip information. The same will apply after crossing the border and preparing for your next submission. Wait until the bus has cleared the border crossing and you've officially entered before starting the second submission. Once you are in Canada, you can start at any time up until checkin, but leaving enough time for you submission to be processed and the receipt to be sent to you. Let us know how you make out, and have a great cruise!
  16. According to this post, @sunviking90 had used a Switch Health proctored test previously and planned on doing so again a couple of weeks later on a Princess cruise. This particular test kit has not received an FDA EUA. Perhaps if he reads this he will be able to tell us whether or not he was successful using a test kit with no FDA EUA.
  17. Canadians have used Walgreens ever since they started testing. In Whittier, there are no antigen tests available from Walgreens, but you can get a NAAT test. They only do drive-through tests, so you'd need to get a taxi or uber. For more details: https://www.walgreens.com/findcare/covid19/testing?ban=covid_vanity_testing As for proctored self-testing, most of the cruise lines state that they need have an FDA EUA, but in reality, they have been accepting test kits available in Canada. There are many, many posts by Canadians saying that they have had no issues using Canadian kits, but I don't recall specifically if any of the posters were Princess passengers. You might want to post this on the Princess forum as well, as not all Canadian members come to this forum. I hope that you and your dad have a great cruise!
  18. If none of the countries to be visited require more than 3 months, and Uniworld only requires 3 months for this itinerary, you needn't worry about what other cruise lines might or might not require.
  19. LOL. I think that the election folks were aware of the problem, as they allowed you to send a scan/photo of a utility bill or similar showing your name and address. I chose my hydro bill (!).
  20. Ah, but do they really all have appointments? That might be the ideal situation, and would eliminate these long lineups, but so far the Passport Office has allowed walk-ins: In Canada How you apply depends on how soon you need a passport. 2 business days or less: Visit a passport office Check walk-in wait times (opens in a new tab)before you go. New 3 to 45 business days: Book an appointment or visit a passport office Check walk-in wait times (opens in a new tab)before you go. New It may take up to 2 weeks plus mailing time to process your application. 46 business days or more: Visit a Service Canada Centre or apply by mail It may take up to 9 weeks plus mailing time to process your application. How to apply from Canada If you can, pick a period next year when you won'r be travelling for a couple of months and renew by mail. Like voting by mail, no need to leave the house and to stand in line. In our case, we've done both by mail and enjoyed the simplicity of the approach.
  21. Whether or not you decide to go ashore in Victoria, you will still need to make an ArriveCAN submission. As for your later drive back to Vancouver, you can make the second submission at any point during the 72 hour window before re-entering. If you choose to do so while in Victoria, that's fine.
