  1. The "left behind" notification got annoying for me after a while, but I figured I could live with a bunch of false alarms if it ever did notify me of a real problem. I played golf last week while wearing an Apple Watch and it started giving me notifications that my phone was left behind if I walked too far away from the golf cart (where my phone was). I definitely turned that off, but could also see how that could be useful if you accidentally left your phone on a store counter or restaurant table and walked away.
  2. Sounds like you had a different problem, but we now need to defrost our Samsung ice maker about once every 3 weeks. The ice melts and refreezes, causing an "ice bridge" that prevents new ice from forming and dropping into the bucket. VERY annoying when I try to get ice and it's empty. We bought a couple of ice trays and leave them in the freezer as backup ice because it happens so often. Had the same problem with our Samsung fridge in Ohio. I like the 4 door layout and ability to switch one of the lower sections between freezer and fridge, but never again will I buy a Samsung fridge.
  3. Strange balcony situation for you and the OS next to you. Why does that divider in the middle of their balcony even exist? I wonder if at some point in the design of the ship, your JS and the solo next to it were supposed to be one big GS or OS, and your cabin would have had the space where the loungers were in the picture. Looks like Quantum has the same JS/solo configuration so if it's something that changed in the original design, it goes back to Quantum.
  4. I also have to be careful of too much sun. That would really bother me if I confirmed and re-confirmed, and still had no roof.
  5. Love this picture! Perfect timing. You guys indeed made some great lemonade. How are you feeling? Any lingering symptoms?
  6. Maybe it's a Mastercard? A Mastercard is half mango daquiri and half strawberry daquiri, and your picture doesn't look like it has enough strawberry in it, so maybe not.
  7. They may also run into occasional (although seemingly fairly constant right now) supply problems where something on the menu won't be available. That could be supply problems for the whole ship, or just for specific bars. My wife drinks Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and Whispering Angel Rose. On our last cruise after a few days, the Kim Crawford wasn't available at Vintages, even though it was available in the pub. Whispering Angel available in Vintages but not the Pub. You would think that they'd keep Vintages well stocked with wine. If it's available somewhere on the ship, it should be available there. 🤷‍♂️
  8. I remember reading a paragraph someplace where the top half of every letter was erased. It was amazing how the brain can pretty quickly figure out what it's reading, even with half the information missing.
  9. Used to be like that with iPhones also. Not sure when it changed. It might be (guessing here) that early on, there was fear that any of the phone's transmitters could impact a plane. They may have learned that cellular is the only real concern.
  10. I don't think you need to do this anymore on an iPhone. I think Apple changed their system such that Wi-Fi stays on when you go to airplane mode. It's still good advice though...you need to be sure that both airplane mode and Wi-Fi are on, no matter how you get there. If you pull down from the top right corner of your iPhone, touch the airplane circle. Your screen should look like this, with the airplane circle being orange (meaning that airplane mode is on) and the Wi-Fi circle below the airplane circle being blue, meaning Wi-Fi is turned on. The blue circle to the right of the Wi-Fi circle is for Bluetooth. You should keep this on as well if you use any Bluetooth devices like wireless head phones/ear buds, or an Apple Watch. For completeness, the grayed out icon to the right of the airplane circle is for your cellular connection. When you turn on airplane mode, this turns off. That's essentially what airplane mode does these days...turn off your cellular connection that can interfere with an airplane's systems.
  11. I sometimes wonder if tech like Google Glass...smart glasses that can see what you see...should be used to record everything that you see and do. You can then rewind to answer important questions. Why did I come into this room? What was I talking about 5 minutes ago that I said I needed to do? What was that grocery store item that I said I would remember and didn't need to write down? Where did that bruise come from? Did Micheline really tell me what she said she told me? 😁
  12. I am rooting for Marcus and Michael also. Emily and Molly are a good story. I agree that there are many nice people this season, although some seem like it's just a matter of time before they are eliminated.
  13. Tell Andy (or maybe don't tell Andy) that once you go suite, you can never go back. As a somewhat (OK...full blown) perfectionist, typos are one of my biggest concerns. I'd advise you to ignore them as much as you can. No matter what you actually type, we'll know what you mean. Easier said than doen though. And I puposely left the mistakes in this reply to make a point, but it was really hard to do!
  14. Bar 19 Twelve looks like a great place, and that you enjoyed their offerings. If I'm ever in North Myrtle Beach again, this place will be a definite visit.
  15. Getting old sucks. But it's better than the alternative. Happy to hear that your shoulder will heal on its own and that the sling is optional.
  16. Yup. Major concern for us right now. One of our daughters is getting married next fall, and our next big trip will be land only, so no cruises scheduled. 😧 Might need to book something just so that I can change my signature.
  17. The appetizer stations are a scam! They're trying to get you to fill up on rabbit food. Samba Grill is all about the meat! 🤣
